I highly recommande this hotel in Bagan. The location and the view on Bagan sites is outstanding. We had a very confortable bungalow facing the ruines ang at night it was spectacular. The breakfast buffet was excellent but the others meals were just OK.
If you truly want to pamper and master your stay in Bagan and make it unforgettable don't look any further, Aureum Palace js the resort for you! Located directly in Nyaungu few minutes drive from the airport (best way to reach Bagan as road is dirty and bumpy it will take you over 6 hours drive from Mandalay, not recommend if travelling with children or elderly...) and right into the temple area. Walking distance to golf course and famous watching tower that you cant miss (see sunset from here is mandatory, look at pictures with resort view from top also...) enjoy the lovely pool and pool bar; and choose a bungalow villa directly facing the lake and the temple (We stayed at 202-203 villa) Ask of Ms Zarni the wonderful hotel manager at your arrival or before booking and she will assist you on all your special requirements as only the most kind Burmese ladies shall do! Don't miss to dine in front of the pool, the restaurant food here is amazing if you feel lazy to explore outside options. By the way Nyaungu is the only habitable city near Bagan as the Old Bagan has been converted to historic town so no restaurants there. Only dining options are in Nyaungu but i suggest you eat at resort, don't need try others outside or you might be disappointed unless you want adventure local rural lifestyle ~ And for your daily sightseeing just rent an ebike for few dollars at resort directly and in a day you will see all the amazing temples of Bagan and even more. Best temples site are just around Resort and Old Bagan is like 15 min. ride thru amazing temple area! So enjoy...…
It is a big hotel. So it is not charming. But it is probably the best one in Bagan. The location is just perfect, very close to all the temples. We had a beautiful room villa in front of the small lake and stupas. So the view was just incredible. The room was very calm, spacious, comfortable and clean. The breakfast was very good. The dinner was along the pool with a beautiful sunset view. It is a pity that they organised sometimes some noisy musical entertainment while silence would have probably been better suited for such a beautiful place in front of the old temples. Friendly but not personal service. No surprises with the bill. Really to be recommended.
This Hotel is beautiful and have the best view for the Pagodas! All the staff is really professional and friendly! The Chef (from Thailand) is really, really GOOD!! Many thanks for the free upgrade!! It was really appreciate!!
As others reviewers have said, the common areas at this hotel are lovely, the view of the sunset over the huge pool and over the pagodas across the pond is stunning as is the view of the pagodas at night when they are lit up and their reflections can be seen in the pond. The staff is friendly and helpful. However the pros are balanced out by the cons. The large rooms need a major infusion of capital in order for this hotel to be considered a first rate resort. The rooms are extremely dated, poorly lit and depressing. The bathroom was particularly in need of improvement. The bathtub was dirty and several surfaces were stained. I was torn over whether to give this a 3 or 4 star rating. I hope the owners will be able to help this resort be all that it could be
