Cons: The room smelled of smoke. It was old and outdated. There was no A/C and it was too noisy to leave the window open at night. The maid came too late at 8 pm on our last night to clean the room. Pros: The parking was free and the breakfast was good. It was close to downtown.

An older hotel that delivers the old charm of the area. It is clean, a decent breakfast, comfortable beds and adequate shower. The room was large with a queen size bed and a living room area (chairs, coffee table, desk). I was there for 2 nights on business, so I did not try the pool (it was out of season...

The hotel is centrally located in one of the most beautiful parts of town with great views and is a clean well kept property with friendly good service. Unfortunately the hotel is very old and in desperate need of a renovation. It's more of a business traveler hotel although the appliances and furnishings were from another era. Its breakfast buffet...

The prices are high, but the service is sub-standard. We had to wait 20 minutes for check-in. The safe box in our room did not work, help came only after 30 minutes and several repeated requests to the reception staff. The worst was: We couldn't leave in the morning for 45 minutes, since our car was blocked on the hotel's...

I have been in this hotel twice and I keep having bad experiences with the service, specially the front desk staff! The menus are a bit basic and expensive for what you get. It is a pretty handy location to visit the town attractions.

Never try to book this hotel by email. I tried twice and rang the hotel. Answer: we thought it was a spam, send it again. I did, no answer and rang again. Answer: We received it, wait for answer. Answer never came. Just in case, we dropped when arriving to La Serena but we were told there was no vacancy...

Yes, the staff -- front desk and restaurant -- have weak skills speaking English but they make up for it with a genuine effort to explain themselves. The rooms are very well appointed. To turn the lights on you need to insert your room card in a holder near the door. Very clever device since it turns off the lights...

This is a well located hotel (for town, not the beach), in a good state of repair, with large, clean rooms, drench showers with hot water at all times, lots of power outlets, clean linen and towels, reasonable breakfasts, and an excellent restaurant for dinner (surprisingly good!!). Most of the staff speak no English, but are extremely patient and helpful....

We spent three nights at this hotel with our baby and we were quite satisfied. We had a very large room, clean and with a big tub. Breakfast was ok, the restaurant could be a little better though (especially because it is quite expensive). The staff was friendly and helpful.
