The hotel is at the main entrance of the old street. Its has a restaurant attached to it and its also the main entrance to the hotel. The rooms are varied, we stayed in the "honeymoon suite" which is facing the other new hotel and the main road. It can get very noisy from the outside at times, but you... More

My partner and I stayed here, whilst in Huangshan trying to find her father's former residence in Huangshan or Xiuning. The hotel is basic but pretty good. Being cheapskates we opted for the cheapest room possible. The hotel was undergoing some renovation work at the time, but we were not inconvenienced in any way. The food was excellent. The owner... This is a nice enough hotel at the very end of old street. This makes it a bit of a walk into the hustle bustle of the centre but I think this might be a plus! The rooms are fine, clean and spacious. At night walk to the river for the light show and bridge prettily lit up. One downside... More

I stayed at this hotel in mid-Nov. 2014. The rate, one hundred twenty rmb for a standard room, seems fair enough. However, you get what you pay for. The hotel is old, almost run down, and doesn't offer any breakfast options. The front-desk staff of one (at any one time) didn't speak English. Sure, the hotel's location at the entrance... More

Very beautiful and very authentic ancient hotel. Location is also very strategic. Come out from the main entrance, turn left and you are in Tunxi Ancient Street. From the main entrance, cross the main road and cross the bridge, you can get to a beautiful cultural centre which will be located on the left side after the bridge. For breakfast,... More

Booked for one night a cheap, windowless room after arriving in the evening - wanted to walk around a bit in Old Street before heading to Xidi next day. Room on 3rd floor was clean. One gets all the noise from the corridor though. Staff seemed to be quite unmotivated but helped when asked (in Chinese). Good enough for what... More

Value for money, good location - close to buses to the bus station and Laojie - and comfortable, clean, decent sized room. The staff we spoke to did not speak much English but were helpful anyway. Very convenient.

We booked a delux single room. There was a good size bathroom and a large sitting area room, with a couch, chairs, cocktail table and TV. The sitting area room faced the street and had windows. The separate bedroom had a large bed and desk with no windows so it was quiet at night. It was clean and the location... More

We stayed here one night and I loved it! It had a friendly atmosphere and the room was furnished in the old Chinese style. It was comfortable and homely. I'll definitely come back one day. Furthermore the location is perfect, just close to the old street. I definitely recommend this hotel!

As the first stop of a month long travel around the eastern part of China, I was moved by the kindness of the staff at Old Street Hotel. Even though I disrupted their sleep after arriving at 4am on an overnight train, they kindly directed me to an internet cafe until reception opened at 7am for early check in. And... More
