Hotel is average - no more no less. Our room was relatively clean. However, the whole building is old and not too well preserved. The main problem is the awful acoustic isolation - you can hear everything going on outside your door or your window. This means you hear cars, motorcycles, horns, drums, nightclubs and also chinese shouting one another....

The Magnolia is a block away from the very crowded shopping street, so in that regard, the location is very good. But with that also comes much of the noise from the area- and in particular a nearby bar that stays open late. Compounding the situation, the doors have a large crack in the floor and the hotel is designed...

We arrived in Yangzhou by boat from Guilin and after just a 5 minute walk we found the hotel at No.1 Diecui Road a great location and not far from West Street which is a busy and interesting part of town with some grate streets and markets to explore. When we arrived at the hotel the manager Jennifer was charming...

After a rather unpleasant two night experience at an out of town inn, we cut short our planned 4 night stay and returned to town centre where we checked in to this hotel without a prior booking, given the location so close to West St we were aware that the noise factor could be a problem for us, however our...

That was a worry, and a new experience. This art house hotel is rustic, and the lack of a lift was a pest. The amenity was fine, the bathroom worked, the bed was comfortable, but the noise ! A loud band plays in the street outside. The earplugs were a blessing, but you need to read the instructions for effect....

We stayed in Yangshuo for 3 nights. This was perfect for us. The hotel is located off west street so its very close to the west street attraction. I can't say it was 100% quiet, but for us was fine. Other quie hotels are further and you'll need a ride to west street. Cons: there is no elevator. We were...

Magnolia Hotel represents the beautiful side of China. Filled with pretty antiques and sensual cloths, there is something gorgeous to rest your eyes upon at every corner. The rooms are spacious, charming and clean. The size of the hotel assures a warm and sincere stay. Breakfast is included at the nearby China Cafe which is outstanding in its quality. We...

I booked a deluxe double and found the room clean, spacious and very comfortable. Perfect location for West Street - several restaurants and shops within a minute's walk. However the service was not great, there was little useful information about the local area and how to get around and the receptionist seemed more interested in taking a cut of anything...

A high-quality hotel in the very center of the city. Quiet, clean, comfortable, spacious rooms, traditional decoration... Staff (they speak English!!!) was very friendly and they helped a lot with all kind of requests, including tickets for events, transport and ideas to have fun. There was free wifi in the rooms and views to the street. Absolutely recommendable.

Stayed here for a couple of nights and after "roughing it" in nearby towns and hotels I was glad of some luxury. Room was good size with a balcony overlooking the street, and a large bathroom with a lovely shower. Bed was really comfy, a lot of beds in China seem to be very hard, but not here! Only down...
