This was truly a beautiful place to stay and enjoy the landscape of Yangshou. We stayed in our own little cabin and it was wonderfully peaceful. The porch had a lovely view of the river and we got to enjoy some stunning sunsets each evening. Generally lots to photograph on site too- from wildlife to landscape. The room included AC and a safe and was very comfortable and clean. We were very happy with the food on-site and rarely felt the need to venture away, as they catered to both western and Chinese tastes. Breakfast were river side and there were a few delicious dishes to choose from. All the staff spoke good English and were really helpful- including booking a taxi back to the airport. We LOVED the free bikes they had on offer and went out each day to explore the local area. There are some riverside routes as well as longer road routes which are sketched out on provided maps. The cycle down to the Yulong bridge was beautiful- though needed an early start to avoid the strong heat!…
Absolutely loved staying in this hidden gem, the location right by the river is amazing and perfect to relax in one of the terrace seatings and watch the bamboo boats pass by. The staff was super kind and took great care of us! The rooms are really charming and beds are very comfortable.
My wife and I stayed here with our one year old daughter in October 2020. We could not have asked for a better stay. The place is clean, in a gorgeous location, and the staff was extremely hospitable. They should such great flexibility and attention to our daughter’s need. Also, don’t let the rustic Chinese location fool you on the food. The homemade italian pasta was great. We wouldn’t consider staying anywhere else if we were to return to Yangshuo.
We visited during China's Golden Week, which is of course the busiest time of the year. This place was like a little sanctuary away from our usual Beijing city buzz, and we could enjoy some peace and quiet despite the hordes of tourists around. There are plenty of things to do nearby and the hotel will be happy to help you organise some activities. What we loved: - The staff! Very well-trained, polite, competent and helpful. They also spoke English very well. - The views! It was amazing to wake up to the view from our balcony every day... - The food! The Chinese menu was particularly good - plenty of healthy, non-oily options and a good vegetarian and vegan selection in the Chinese menu (although there were only a few veggie options in the Western menu - mostly soup and salad) - The sustainability focus! Freshly filtered water will be provided in your room, no single use toiletries, and no plastic bags. What we thought could be improved: - Like anywhere in China, quite a few of the guests and staff smoke. Whilst smoking isn't allowed indoors, as soon as you try to have a meal outside, you will likely be passive smoking (despite the many small kids around). Perhaps you could make half your garden smoke-free to protect the health and comfort of your non-smoking customers, especially children. - Many people accidentally walk into the resort because they think the footpath along the river goes through it, especially during the Golden Week. Many then stop once they realise that they have taken a wrong turn and start taking pictures, including of guests sitting on their balconies or in the garden (waiguoren being a particular attraction for a few...). Perhaps you could put up a sign at the entrance specifying that this is in fact not the continuation of the footpath to reduce some of these activities.…
The setting for this hotel is spectacular. The views from the room, breakfast served at the riverside, the balcony to just sit and gaze...capturing the moods of the day...all make for a delightful and restful place. The staff is extremely helpful and they all speak English. I liked the antique furniture and art in the room...gave it all character. I will absolutely be going back again!!
