Stayed her before and really liked it, especially the lighted walk along the Adriatic. Brought my friend here and it was once again very nice. Very friendly staff who actually remembered me from our stay before. Good rooms, comfy though a bit noisy as the windows face the main street and people seem to have the need to drive along there at 3 in the morning, especially with their mopeds and vespas. Breakfast is one of the best on the trip. Lots of selection and very good cappuccino machine. I had the place all to myself when I went down there in the morning and that was very nice. Lots of good restaurants within easy walking distance and the hotel has a pretty good restaurant also. Two gelato places right across the street. Excellent!
Love this area and love to stay here. Only problem is that lots of tour buses seem to stay here and thus if you come to breakfast early in the morning, the place will be packed with those from the tour bus and they are like locust at the buffet. Parking can be a little difficult also. The hotel wasn't all that full and so I was able to find parking there, but it is tricky to get into and if a tour bus is sitting there, then good luck with that.

We stayed for 3 nights and booked this hotel as part of an organized trip, so the hotel was chosen for us. We had a tiny room just under the roof on the 4th floor with a very small window (401). The room was rather dark because of this. The hotel claims that the rooms are 24/26 square meters. Our room didn’t have 15. The hotel has this very old fashioned system where you have to put your room key (card) in a switch to have electricity in the room. Being just under the roof our room got very warm during the day but there was no way to start cooling when you were not in the room because of this irritating system of the room key. Cooling while you were in the room was not possible when you also wanted to sleep as the cooling was very noisy. Opening the window didn’t work either as the hotel is at a busy street. It was hard to sleep with this heat. The two closest electricity plugs next to the right side of the bed didn’t work and therefore also not the bed light. Tiny shower and shower head. Hard to get wet. Nothing close to a 4 star hotel. Breakfast was ok. Parking is possible at the hotel but troublesome. Hardly any parking space and hard to get in the parking as every day there was a bus (almost) blocking the parking entrance. Two out of three nights there were two busses in the hotel. But only for one night. Wonder if the busses have the nicer rooms although they only stayed one night. Lovran must have many nicer hotels than this one at a similar price. Wouldn’t go back nor recommend. Shall inform the travel agency to look elsewhere.

Beautiful view, friendly and helpful staff at this hotel. It is located in the lovely town of Lovran. Great for side trips to neighboring towns.
Breakfast was very good with a variety of options, make sure you walk through the old town, charming.

On my first visit to Croatia, it was intriguing to see an online reference with the Park Hotel listed as the #1 recommendation for lodging, with no reasons given. Lack of curiosity has never been my problem, so I booked a long weekend visit to check it out.
We easily found the Park on the main street through town, an eye-pleasing blue building with white balconies at most windows. At its' corner a left turn leadis into the ancient town of Stari Grad. (Sean Connery/James Bond/007 fans take note- a sighting will be revealed later.)
As we pulled up, the 1915-era building looked brand new, thanks to a yearlong complete reconstruction by new owner Antile "Tony" Rukavina. Tony is a Croatian who made his fortune in Austrailian construcdtion and then returned to give something back to his native land.
Give back indeed! In this relatively small community, every appointment and amenity in our room was Four Star worthy, with automatic door, light and air controls that responded to our presence. The supportive and seductively comfortable bed had extra pillows, and bath linens were soft, thick and plentiful. A cutting edge German tilt-or-open door invited us onto the balcony sitting area.
From our balcony, the glassy waters of the Istrian Riviera beckoned us out to explore the coast speard out there, and parking the car made first introductions- steps across the street is the Tourist Information office and free car park available to hotel guests, located at the picturesque park and wharf. A cliff-hugging but level and well-guardrailed scenic walk reveals beaches and coves, villas and their gardens dating from the Austrio-Hungarian empire. Divers may be seen heading out for bluewater adventures, while hikers and families on bicycles pass and any sport you may care to indulge is available close by. Step around the corner into 12th-century Stari Grad and look for a small doorway with the number 31, sitting on a short and slight incline- now remember Sean Connery walking out that door in "From Russia With Love".
Sheltered inlets of sailing and motor boats bob below seafood restaurants like the Kvarner and the Mali Raj, both of which deserve their own praises sung, from wine and local seafood offerings to dessert selections and Adriatic views throughout. Menus are multi-lingual as well as pictorial, in up to eight and ten languages depending on the establishment. Indeed, language was no problem wherever our feet led, as the Croatian economy is very much in tune with tourism. Genial and energetic Park Hotel Manager Branimir Blajic confided that all Croatian students begin their foreign-language studies in the fourth grade, and add a third language in the fifth grade. Everywhere we ventured, the evidence showed that they take their studies seriously and are happy to assist visitors.
And have your European travels left you in sticker shock? Here is a source of great relief, with full dinners for two or three, including wine and dessert, costing less than a single light lunch in Euro currency countries. Locally produced items make smart and cost-effective souveniers and gifts, while the Park's daily breakfast, included in your room rate, serves up a bountiful European and American selection of hot and cold dishes that please even the fussy younger traveler.
Alas, our weekend ended all too soon. But will I return? Just let me check the calendar....

Lovran is a gorgeous town facing Kvarner Bay, and the Hotel Park Lovran is well placed to showcase this beauty.

We chose Lovran over nearby Opatija for a weekend retreat during a work trip; Opatija had a slightly overblown look from what we could see on the web (and from what we subsequently saw first hand, we were proven correct).

Following a white-knuckle drive from Rijeka, we were pleasantly surprised to be personally greeted by the hotel owner, Tony. He has a self-confessed soft spot for Australia and Australians, having lived there for over 20 years before returning home to help re-build the new Croatia. Very nice to be greeted in this way!

Car parking is something of an issue here, especially at weekends. To tell you the truth, if you can possibly cope with the local number 32 bus from Rijeka, you should consider this. Buses run every 30 minutes or so, and the driving standards of some of the locals are somewhat adventurous to say the least. (The website smartraveller.gov.au states “Driving in Croatia can be hazardous due to poor driving practices, and badly maintained roads. Road traffic accidents are common”.)

Just about all staff we met were very friendly and obliging. I have read elsewhere that some reviewers were unhappy about the small lobby. Who cares about this! There’s the lovely outside area facing the Bay, and all the waterfront activities opposite.

Our room was on the 2nd floor, on the northern corner of the floor. It appeared to have been 2 former rooms combined into 1 suite; hence, lots of space (albeit austerely furnished) and a drop-dead gorgeous view of Kvarner Bay – challenged only by the equally gorgeous view of the Old Town just about next door to our window. Traffic noise? We were too entranced by the views to notice.

The bathroom featured an interesting “surprise shower” with assorted nozzles and spouts to give you massages and rinses all over. The room also included internet access via cable at no extra charge.

The tariff included breakfast. We tended towards cereals, not being used to those whopping great cooked breakfasts also on offer. We also ate dinner one night at the hotel; a satisfying meal, taken to the accompaniment of a busload of our fellow guests from Germany all dancing to polka tunes broadcast over the tannoy. There are also other very pleasant restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.

There are many local activities to keep you exercised and entertained. The famous Lungo Mare provided plenty of walking opportunities for us, as did the laneways behind the hotel and through the Old Town. The townspeople and shopkeepers we met were very friendly. Our thanks especially go to the municipal gardener who very good-humouredly and unpromptedly helped us turn off our car’s rear windscreen wiper, which was defying our attempts at deactivation.

Sunday night Mass in St George’s Church in the Old Town was a highlight. Lack of English (and our lack of Croatian) here and elsewhere was no problem. English is widespread in Croatia, and in any case a few key Croatian phrases memorised are greatly appreciated.

Lovran is certainly worth a visit; base yourself here rather than Opatija when visiting the Istrian Peninsula. And you won’t regret staying at the Hotel Park Lovran (and not just if you happen to be Australian!).

The location of this hotel is excellent, right across from the harbor and the promenade. The room and bathroom were very clean and in good order. The breakfast was adequate and plentiful. The free internet was available 24 hours. The staff was very pleasant. All in all above average in every way.

The hotel is next to the old town and offers good views across the bay.Its located on the main coast road which can make it noisy and the dining room is uninspiring.Breakfast was good but we chose to eat out in the evening having tried the buffet style evening meal and whilst the staff were all pleasant we were underwhelmed. The room was clean and functional and though the stair carpet requires replacing we were perfectly happy with the facilities on offer.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Room was small, but unlike other reviewers we had wi-fi in our room (105). We had a small balcony overlooking the street, but we could also hear street traffic and the TV from the next room. The included breakfast was more than adequate. The instructions to the safe were not very clear, but we finally figured it out. The service from the reception was also good.
The room was clean. The location was excellent. Several restaurants, pizza places and ice cream places within a few feet of the hotel.

This was a last minute booking via the net due to a sudden change of plans. We were touring the Balkans, but diverted to the coast as the weather inland was so poor.
We needed a cheap hotel for one night on the Istria coast of Croatia. We found the Hotel Park in Lovran. Wow what a discovery!
This elegant little hotel is 50 metres from the seafront, set amongst the quaint restaurants, cafes and the picturesque walking area of the town.
It deserves every one of its four stars. The rooms are large and well appointed. It has a good restaurant, swimming pool, and gym and has free Internet access. The staff were pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable – and always smiling!
Our room had views straight out to sea, and alone were worth the modest nightly room charge.
I wish I had booked this place for the whole two weeks!

Going to Croatia in July and August please book the hotel as early as possible because it is the high season and the top destination in Europe. In Lovran all public parkings are free of charge and you will find a place in front of the hotel or 100-150 m around, moreover Croatia is friendly and safe country for travelers please do not worry about. As to Park hotel it is OK for 2-3 days, because it is just on the noisy road, you have no chances to enjoy nice sea views and silence, therefore rooms opposite to the sea are better to relax. Actually by my opinion Bristol hotel and Excelsior hotel are better if you book sea side rooms, really good services, romantic evenings in the terrace with magnificent sea views will be guarantied. But in any case Park, Bristol, Excelsior offer decent services. Best regards

Parking may be extremely difficult to find end of July! However, there is free parking in front of the hotel, right at the sea, and if you are lucky you may find parking there. The hotel is practically at the sea, where one can swim, but this is not exactly a beach. Rocks are everywhere, and if you dont mind lying on a rock you should be fine. Bon voyage!
