Where do I begin .. this hotel is beautiful we picked it because it was a small boutique style it is a perfect little hotel at the end of a stunning harbour it did not disappoint! We are in a suite 305 with only 2 days to go but as im chilling in our room feel that now is the right time to review I will break down in sections
Room
Stunning beautiful sea and harbour views a sauna in the room large separate bedroom and living area with 3 large double windows to open and bring the outside in and cleaned daily by a lovely smiling lady

Reception
Very attentive friendly and ready to assist before and during your holiday
Pool towels are signed out here and sunbeds for the small area of beach are also bought from here.

Corridors are immaculate

Breakfast
Continental cereal yogurt fruit no full cooked breakfast but I'm not a person that eats as soon as I wake up

Evening meal
You receive a menu and it is prepared fresh every night the menu is the same but there is more than enough choice I would say. Our waiter was Derek and was the most attentive he could be and such an amazing friendly guy he is a pure asset to this hotel

Surroundings
Perfect position for wandering around and getting to the nearby bars and resturants and old town
This is I'd say the perfect place if you like class and chilled atmosphere every gorgeous person from croatia speaks very good english and goes out of their way to be friendly and helpful and welcoming

This was our first time in croatia and we booked last year irrelevant of the green status I was blown away with the beauty you feel instantly relaxed you feel part of the culture and I can not believe it took us this long to come here you would definitely not regret it
We will come back and after spending an evening in the centre where most hotels are located THIS is certainly the end that is the most beautiful and up market.
This hotel do not hesitate to book you certainly will not regret it everything about it oozes class
I'm returning !

The Hotel Osejava is on one end of the harbor front with terrific views of the sea, harbor, and town, which look especially pretty lit up at night. Thus, it is quiet although within less than a 4 minute walk to the start of old town with restaurants, bars, etc., and about a 10 minute walk to the beaches and the lovely shaded paved walking path that goes for miles along the waterfront to Baska Voda, Brela, and beyond. There is a public beach to the left (west) side of the hotel at which you can rent two sunbeds and parasols for 100 Kuna/day (at about 7 kuna to 1 Euro or 1 US dollar) which is popular with families given how gentle the water is. The hotel provides beach towels at no charge. The hotel is lovely; recently renovated so it is modern, bright, and very clean. The staff is professional. Housekeeping does an excellent job.

Rooms - It can be difficult to determine, from the website, which photos align with which room type, which seems to be more common as hotels are using the same photos for very different rooms. It took us quite a bit of time, and emails back and forth with the helpful hotel staff, to determine which room was the one we wanted to reserve. The rooms on the west facing side of the hotel have balconies that offer a splendid view of the sea, Hvar, Brac, etc., but the sliding glass doors create a hot greenhouse effect on a hot sunny afternoon so we had to keep the drapes closed. Most disappointingly, one of the two AC wall units did not work and the other worked minimally; it took us three requests to finally have a technician fix it and from then on the AC worked well (and works even without a key in the slot so you can keep the room cool when you are out). The reception clerk lowered the minimum set temperature for us (Germans do not like AC but Americans do). The worst feature of the room was the bed – the mattress was as hard as a plywood plank and the linens were very rough. The pillows also were hard, rough, and cheap. There are 12 parking spots; make a reservation. The room does have a small refrigerator, which we emptied of the minibar hotel beverages and told the clerk that we would not use, and replaced them before we checked out. There were no luggage racks so we had to use the floor, couch for our suitcases, which is incredibly annoying and inconvenient. Overall, we really liked this hotel and would return.

Hotel Osejava is a really nice looking, modern and clean hotel with friendly and helpful staff that does everything to make your stay the best. Our room had a view towards the sea and harbour which was fantastic, and the room it self was very good with daily and spotless cleaning. With temperatures being at a minimum of 25C during the night I’m also very happy to say that the AC worked like a charm making it quite pleasent to sleep in.

I will note that there is quite a lot of noise during night time, hence a rating of 4 and not 5. The level of noise probably depends on room location, as we happened to be positioned towards Deep nightclub which keeps it going till 5 in the morning. Not too bad, but if you’re a light sleeper you should either consider specifying a room that faces away from the harbour and/or is further away from the beach area or even choose a different hotel.

A modern hotel in a great location on the harbour with glorious views of the mountains. Away from the main strip and tourist crowds and next to a small beach and lots of restaurants. Also positioned on the edge of a forest park with hiking trails and a 30 minute walk to a lovely beach. Nightclub next to hotel didnt prove a problem...more booming noise from the party boats in the harbour. Expensive and not what I'd expect from a 4* however which is a shame as receptionist staff, although matter of fact, were helpful. For example upon arrival they organised parking for us for a night and changed our boys room. They had been allocated a room on same level as pool so had people sunbathing right outside their balcony which was a bit weird. Things that didn't make the 4* grade for us were 1. Towels were frayed and stained 2. No tea/coffee making facilities 3. No iron in room or possibility to borrow one 4. No pool bar and pool small 5. No mention at check in that loungers were available to hire on beach at a day rate (again I'd expect this as part of guest package for price of hotel) 6. No management of towels being used to reserve loungers by pool though there was a sign that this was not permitted. We found guests to be really rude in this respect, disappearing for lunch etc while keeping their towels on the loungers 7. Small pots of shower gel etc meant lots of plastic waste which I doubt was recycled 8. No gym 9. Air conditioning in room was not adjustable
As well as general location, Pros included towels available for pool, beach use, extensive breakfast (though Fresh fruit was often mouldy or over-ripe).

We spent five wonderful days in Makarska, at the Hotel Osejava. We cannot say enough about the hotel! It is located in the perfect spot at the end of the promenade along the Makarska Harbor, away from the more densely developed and busy areas, but a short walk to everything. There is a small beach area adjacent to the hotel property, which we enjoyed very much, as well as hiking trails with beautiful views of the Adriatic Sea. The hotel has easy access to excursions by boat to the neighboring islands, and the front desk staff can make arrangements for you. The hotel itself was spotless, the staff was very professional and accommodating, and our room was lovely with a gorgeous view of the harbor and Biokovo Mountain in the backdrop. The breakfasts were wonderful, with a generous selection of hot and cold items. The on-site restaurant included outdoor seating fronting on the harbor, and two menus: a regular menu and a sushi menu. We enjoyed excellent dishes from both, as well as great wines. We hope to return someday soon!

We stayed here for only 3 nights before moving on to Brac.
It is in a great location over looking the bay.
The key to this hotel is the view and getting a room like 211 or 212 or 213 and a couple more because they have glass doors that open giving you a superb view of the bay.
We went breakfast only here which was OK, but I think if you can you should try to get a all inclusive package or as most as you can get.
Reason being we spent £200 a day going around the harbour for food and drinks.
The rooms are spacious enough and clean and the bathroom suite was good enough, although the shower was over the bath so elderly or disabled might struggle.
The pool is small but clean and the hotel and outside area are clean.
The staff are lovely and helpful.
The harbour is lovely and peaceful to walk around and sit and chill. There is not a lot to do but they do have water sports and boat trips.
The hotel has a small shingle beach at the side but if you walk around the harbour to the end there is a small market stall place and just behind it a larger shingle beach with more going on.
Lovely place to visit and I would stay here again.

Another plus is no mask wearing anywhere including at airports.

The views and staff are brilliant and the rooms are impeccably clean. The reason I’ve scored this hotel a low score is it’s very noisy. Because it is located on the side of the marina which is stunning. On multiple occasions we were woken up and on all occasions we had the windows closed and air conditioning on. The bar across the marina 1st night ended at 11pm but not helpful when you’re trying to get some sleep for long trip to Mostar the next day. 2nd night, Marina staff jet washing the marina at 6am (which is out of the control of the hotel). 4th night, gardener mowing and strimming the lawns at 06:30am. We asked the if we could move rooms which they we’re very obliging and we moved to the back of the hotel overlooking the country park, perfect we thought. Then our last evening we were awoken by a couple having a lovers tiff outside our bedroom window, icing on the cake. The hotel is in a great location to explore Makarska and we would recommend the Tempera restaurant adjacent reasonably priced and exceptional quality and the staff a delight. So if you don’t mind noise or have ear plugs. You’ll enjoy the views, breakfast and facilities.

We have booked many holidays and the location is very important to us. On this occasion we were not disappointed. The hotel Osejava is situated at the end of the harbour, there is a cave next to the hotel which is known as the “nightclub”. The cave closed on 14/09/23 until the new season in May/June 2024. The hotel is “boutique” style set in a picturesque part of the harbour.
There is a small pebble beach by the hotel. I would advise wearing water shoes if you want to go into the sea.
Hotel was spotless, all staff were friendly & polite.
We stayed half board which I would recommend, it is waiter service for lunch or evening meal and the food was excellent.
Breakfast was self service & all guests sat in the veranda which had nice views. Omelettes were cooked on request.
There is a great choice of restaurants to choose from, we ate out one evening & we were able to change our evening meal to lunchtime.
At the back of the hotel there is a forest which is used by walkers & cyclists, you will need sensible footwear. It is sign posted to walk to the next town called Tucepi, this takes about an hour if you are walking & depending on how fit you are!!
There are a lot of boat tours to choose from, we took the 2 island tour to Jelsa and Bol Brac it was a full day excursion. Lunch & refreshments were provided, cost €100.
In conclusion this is a lovely part of the world, which is in a great location to embrace the Croatian culture and scenery.

We loved this hotel and it’s location. Right at the far end of the harbour in Makarska and next to the old town it was a couple of days before we realised there was more to Makarska than that. The room was a good size and, despite not booking a balcony we were given one with a view over the pool and a sea view slither. The bathroom was generous with the shower over the bath. The hotel was very quiet (except for the last day when a group of teenage athletes came to stay and took over the pool and the restaurant with their high jinks and enthusiastic chatter). The staff were friendly and obliged me with a kettle without fuss or charge. We were on half board and the breakfast was plentiful with a good range of hot and cold - eggs, sausages, cereals, meats, cheeses, fruits and yogurts. The dinner choices were plentiful and tasty and varied quite well across the week but it was a little uninspiring, served in a buffet style. Although two nights we were treated to out of this world food in a different on site restaurant and had the best steak either of us has ever eaten. I’d definitely stay again as the hotel has a charming boutique and non touristy feel.

Let me reassure you , if you have searched on here looking for some reassurance about Osejava and Makarska before booking your holiday , just book it now !!.
My wife and I are just back from here and cannot rate it highly enough. The hotel ,location , ambiance , room , staff were all 100%.
The area of Makarska is also breathtaking , a credit to mother nature and the local people. The respect that is granted to beauty , cleanliness and tourists was a privelage to see. Tree planting on promenade , parks and indeed around a carpark area , and the abundant rubbish bins being erected was a testament to the pride people were taking in their home town , and rightfully so.
The hotel itself was stunning, the rooms more than ample size with large well equipped bathrooms and attention to detail an obvious commitment from staff.
As you can gather we loved this hotel and area immensely and cannot recommend highly enough , so yes , go ahead and book the Osejava hotel and hopefully love it every bit as much as we did.

Tea and coffee making facilities in room is only thing missing.
