We stayed here as a party of six for a week in August 2012. The villa was well maintained, very clean and suited our needs perfectly. Nice, secluded and relaxing spot, just as expected from the web site. Smiljana, the house manager, was very friendly and helpful. We visited Porec several times and went caving and sea kayaking (though beware... More

This was the ideal setting in a very small village. The villa is of very high quality in a very tranquil setting. About 20 mins to the coast / Porec. We had many trips planned but enjoyed sitting around the pool so much, we hardly went out. Good local places to eat and only a short drive to Porec with... More

Excellent 'home' to enjoy a chilled out retreat in an idyllic village environment, and yet perfectly situated near all major motor routes as a base from which to explore all Istria has to offer. It is an unspoilt country and has some stunning scenery and beautiful towns. Nigel and Shirley are the perfect hosts, making you feel very welcome and... More

Transitions is just delightful - in all respects. Nigel and Shirley have created a peaceful haven in the countryside. I went with a friend and it was right up our street - they 'live' the eco life as much as Croatia will allow - growing their own veg and keeping chickens - which all contributed to wonderful food Shirley provided.... What is fabulous about Transition Lifestyle Retreat? Everything. And about Istria? All of it. Shirley and Nigel (Brits now permanently located here) create a cheery, welcoming, eco-aware ambience, enhancing the physical charm and beauty of their updated old stone structure, the village of 47, and the surrounding farmland and hamlets. Rooms-with-a-view (all) and cozy linens; breakfasts with eggs from the... More

My wife and I stayed at Transition for 11 days in late April and early May of 2008. Istria had been on our traveling radar for many years and once there I realized what all the buzz was about. We have been to the Algarve, Provence and Tuscany and hands down Istria is the most culturally authentic of them all.... More
