This was the fourth time I went to camping Polari. We fell in love already the first time we arrived there. This year was no exception. Everything went well except for a bad experience at the local restaurant Feral. I went in to make a reservation and was well treated by the local staff at the time, but when we arrived with our party of 4 (2 adults and 2 children), the man guiding us to our table treated us like garbage. We had no choice but to leave the premises as we were not willing to eat at a place where we were not appreciated as customers. We ended up going to Kapula Bar where we had a blast. Excellent service. Prices a bit on the higer side h but the food and the service compensated for it.
Another negative point was the swimming pool. We have noticed that this year it was not well kept. There were tiles missing from the pool floor and the water was dirty. I even heard cases of three children falling sick after swimming there. The swimming pool WC could also do with some renovations. It looks worn out and dated. This was not an issue in the previous years.
For the rest, I have only good things to say. Nice and big camping. Full of activities, Sanitairs are also clean. And I could recharge my car for free! Overall a positive experience! My kids loved it and I am sure we will be back.

Camp of this kind should not allow so much plastic on beach…one of main beaches is full off plastic…in water as well as on the beach….there’s play ground near by and fancy restaurant…since it’s a family camp of four stars this should be taken care off. Hopefully in the future they will put more focus on making the beaches and water clean and pleasant for all visitors. This was really negative surprises.

Camp Polari is huge! Luckily we were there in September so it wasn't full. I cannot imagine how busy it must be in July/August - definitely will not be trying it out!!

We got a superior pitch and quite frankly I could not tell the difference between those pitches and the other ones - except for the proximity to the sea; not worth the extra money. This campiste is EXPENSIVE!!! 32 Euros a night for a campervan and 2 adults! I was shocked; when I priced it on the internet it came out at 26 Euros a night which is OK, but then they add on so much tax and other stuff it comes out a lot more expensive.

There is very little beach. All the beaches are rocky so beach shoes are necessary. Again, in July/August I cannot imagine that you can even get close to the sea - even in September the little beaches were full.

The fish restaurant was awful!!! The service was extremely poor, the food was disgusting, the house wine not good (and Croatia does good wine so there is no excuse)!! Total waste of money!!

The grill restaurant was OK - reasonably good service and the food was good. Not great but good.

The website states : The campground is located by the sea, 2.5 km southeast of the town of Rovinj in Istria, Croatia - this is simply NOT true!!! We cycled to Rovinj almost every day. The first day after 25 minutes of cycling (we still were not in Rovinj) on a very rough but beautiful coastal path we decided that 2.5km was a lie! The next day I put on my GPS watch and we discovered that it was 7km from the campsite to Rovinj on the coastal path! Going by road is also not 2.5km - perhaps as the crow flies but certainly not for walking or cycling, or driving for that matter!! It takes around 40 minutes to cycle.

However, I have to say that the toilets were clean and the showers powerful.

But, for me, the campsite is simply too big. The market shop is very expensive but handy. We didn't go in the pool as the sea is right there but it looked pretty good. We also did not go the pool for the entertainment at night - you didn't need to as you can hear, whether you want to or not, all over the campsite!!

The staff at reception were downright rude as well!! Not helpful at all. We arrived one day early (we reserved online before coming - and that costs an extra 20 Euros!!) and the woman was so rude about it that if I hadn't already paid 50% online I would have turned round and left! I even offered to stay in the parking lot for that night if there was no plot available as we had arrived earlier than planned.....she still wasn't happy! We did eventually get a pitch for the whole week but it felt like we were really putting her out!!

I will start with the positive as I am that sort of girl
Reception well organised, friendly perfect English
My husband booked a superior sea pitch, on arrival we were told that our plot was one line back from sea as they were premium sea plots, ok at nearly €100 per night we E accepted this, funnily enough our cost was suddenly €150 cheaper which makes me think we were originally on sea view
First impressions was this was a massive site people cramped into every spot. We drove to our pitch 845 to find our view was of the bins behind the restaurant along with restaurant fan noise the smell of the bins! We hotailed it back to reception and they couldn’t have been more helpful directing us to plot 915 slightly better but next to recycling station emptied at 06.30
We stayed one night and the good thing they have a cancellation policy so only paid for one night
I feel strongly that a superior pitch should be exactly what it is

I can highly recommend this campsite for family vacation! Amazingly cozy mobile houses with two separate bathrooms, two bed rooms, living room chained with kitchen area and excellent big terrace with large table and cozy chaises longs! You own lawn in front of the house with green grass and absolutely fresh air! Hot water, all kitchen tools, mucrowave, gas cooking set, large fridge, everything you need but for a normal kettle. Take an electric one with you! Lots of towels, shampoo, soap changed every 3 days. Many different beaches for snorkling, naturalist, great beach for children without rocks, warm water in the sea and crystal clear! Olive trees every other meter on the beach side, lots of peaceful corners, bays, shaddow, park zones! Everything for children: entertainment, attractions, playgrounds, amazing pool for children with jacuzzi, water toys, fountains, etc! Impressive pool for adults! Clean territory everywhere! Routes for cycling, even, long along the beach with scenic sea views! It takes an hour (40min) by bike along the beach cost to reach the center of Rovinj! By car it is 10-15 min to the parking place in Rovinj to enter the old city! The city is old, small, romantic, with lots of small souvenir shops, cafes, fish restaurants, great marina views! 30km from the campsite is Pula! But Pula is not that beautiful as Rovinj! I recommend this place to all families! I was here with two small kids (1year and 2 year!) no problem! Supermarkets on the territory where you can buy everything you need including pampers and food for kids, lots of ideas for quick and tasty dinner, everything fresh! Recommend!

We were visiting Polari last weekend and been hugely disappointed. Campsite is rated with 5 stars (and other best campsite awards), but…
When you’re visiting without a car (with bicycles) you’re unable to get a lot just for a tent. They’ll sell you a lot with the use of electricity for the full price (as if you would have a campervan or a mobile home) even-though we were just staying overnight on a FKK part of the campsite (and cycling during the day-time). Most disappointed we were with smelly toilets there. You could smell them from a distance of 10 m and more. Also showers were dirty, doors were full of mould. For the 5 stars (according to our experiences) toilets were much to dirty. We won’t come there any more.

Just arrived this afternoon, had planned to stay a few days and have a look around the area, having walked around this metropolis of a campsite, very quickly changed our minds, it's just too big to be any fun, do you know it can hold 4900, yes you read that correctly, 4, 900 people, try getting them all in the swimming pool at the same time!
Sorry, this just isn't for us, so tomorrow night there will be just 4, 898!!

Looks like the site is very popular - booked up during August and looks like they are creating new campgrounds wherever they find a few idle square meters. We couldn't find a place yet to eat on the campsite with a proper ratio between quality and price. Toilets are usually not clean. Last year we were on campsite Stella Maris and liked it much better.

Coming from Canada, my camping expectations are a little different! We stayed at Polari for two weeks and it was amazing. The sea was beautiful and we swam everyday, which was an awesome way to beat the heat (though as Canadians, we were easily the palest people on the beach), the bathrooms were close and clean, which was appreciated. Wifi was available at certain spots, which was nice, though having it at the tents would have been nice too!

The excursions included things like fish picnics, day trips to Venice, trips to Plitvice Lakes, dolphin tours and that kind of thing, so there is always something to do! They also have buses into Rovinj, which is nice too.
