We've just returned yesterday from a 2-week stay at Hotel Eden and I can honestly say we'll be back! I was a little apprehensive about this holiday being the first since being diagnosed coeliac and having to eat a gluten free diet - I needn't have worried! I emailed the hotel a few days before arriving and made myself known on our first visit to the restaurant. Mladenka greeted us every morning and every evening and was always on-hand to ask any questions and introduced me to the restaurant manager Boyan Kovacic and head chef Masimo. These three members of staff made my holiday! Ensuring there was always something I could eat and offering to make me pizzas, pasta and pancakes if I fancied something different to what was already on offer. All the restaurant staff were really friendly and approachable, but another member of staff that went out his way to make me feel extra special was Marko, who delivered my GF dessert to me every evening and took the time to explain what it was! Much appreciated! I would appreciate if these comments were fed back to the staff!

Onto the hotel and surroundings - our room was 641 on the top floor with a view over the trees and sea beyond. The hotel has been recently refurbished and it was very comfortable. We paid extra for a superior room and it was plenty big enough for the 3 of us. The hotel pool is shared with Hotel Lone next door, but don't let this put you off - there are plenty of sunbeds and no mad dash to secure them at a ridiculous hour. They don't allow access to the pool area until 8.30am and there were still plenty of free beds around 11ish if you were a late riser. The pool is saltwater, which I wasn't keen on as it stung your eyes, but we soon got used to it and there are showers surrounding the pool to rinse off afterwards. My 14 year old Daughter made a great set of Friends around the pool and it was big enough for ball games, inflatables etc.

Whilst staying at the hotel we took part in quite a few of the activities run by the animation team - yoga, kayak and bike tours and the balance exercise class out at sea, we also hired bikes and paddle boards. The hotel is so well located to take advantage of the Golden Cape park and a visit is a must! The animation team were all very friendly and knowledgeable.

Onto Rovinj itself - Wow! It's a beautiful area and so clean. The lovely promenade that runs from Hotel Eden and along the front of the other hotels in the Maistra group makes for a nice stroll into town. We used to run there early morning in the shade and then walk there every night, passing the modern marina, boutique shops and restaurants along the front, following round to the Old Town and the picturesque cobbled streets. A stop off at the Church of Saint Euphemia is also a must and climbing the bell tower for the best views of Rovinj.

We booked our package through Tui Holidays and had a good experience - the Tui rep Sara was in the hotel daily and the team could be contacted via messenger on the app in-between times.

We arrived to the hotel without reservation because we wanted to be sure to get a perfect stay. Hotel Eden looks a bit less promising from the outside, because the hotel building is not renovated externally- but wait just until you get inside. 🌈

Beautifully renovated hall, restaurants and bars wait you, with a lovely modern, naturalist design. The basic room is absolutely beautiful and offers comfort, enough space, a chilly, peaceful atmosphere and a perfect bed for the perfect relaxing experience 💓

The swimming pools and the beach of the Hotel are located in a wonderful park with huge trees 🌳 and you can enjoy a spectacular view from the shore 👀

Hotel Eden is located 15-20 minutes walk from the old town, which is full of fantastic restaurants and romantic alleys! Perfect evening program to walk into the city and enjoy the amazing Rovinj. Also, during the day if you wish for an outstanding lunch, great restaurants are within reach in just 10 minutes. 🥂

The staff of the hotel was nice and friendly in the bar, at the reception, in the restaurants, at the pool gymnastics, even the cleaning ladies were helpful and kind. Everyone was cool and made it possible to enjoy our stay without strict “rules” or anything 👍🏿❤️ Our pic with the piano shows this 😉 A lady at the bar saw it and laughed with us!

➡️ The hotel is perfectly equipped for COVID.

❗️The only one downside we experienced is the a la carte lunch quality in the internal restaurant of the hotel, which was quite poor, we would recommend eating in the outside restaurant or it’s best in the city.

Thank you, Hotel Eden! 💓🌈
See you again in the future 😉🤗

Before I start what would otherwise have been a good review I just want to warn guests of the long pole style taps in the twin room bathrooms. The taps stick out much further than all other fittings and are incredibly dangerous. I have myself sustained a lower back injury that I am still dealing with weeks later and had I known it would have continued to impact my daily life, I would have complained on site. Having a straight, sharp edged metal pole protruding outwards in a slippery bath is insanity. I urge Eden to rethink this design before someone seriously hurts themselves.

Injuries aside, the hotel is clean and modern with a variety of amenities. Set between the forest and the old town, it's the perfect location for those seeking a little variety and who don't mind walking. The food in the Maistra restort restaurants (not included in half board packages) is fantastic. Unfortunately the food in the hotel itself was somewhat repetitive and at times lacked imagination. Overall however we had a great stay and I still love the hotel in general.

This is my second stay after I visited in 2013 and whilst I still adore the hotel itself, it seems to be becoming a victim of its own success. The hotel beach was unbearably busy, and while we were able to hire bikes and cycle to quieter owns nearby, others (such as families or disabled visitors) may not have had this ability.

While I would stay again, I wouldn't visit during peak season and certainly wouldn't want a room with a bath and death-trap tap!

The Hotel Eden is set in woods which go down to the Pebble beach. The grounds are immaculate with plenty of sunbeds in the wooded areas just slightly away from the pool. The surrounding area is clean and we did not see any rubbish lying around. The grounds have a children's play area, also you can hire bikes from the sports shack. If you go on one of the Hotels advertised bike or kayak trips these are INCLUDED in the price of your holiday so it is worth booking a trip with them. They also have a daytime activity program, Also within the grounds you have an a la carte restaurant and an open area where they have live evening entertainment if the weather is ok. The pebble beach has lots of sunbeds and sunshades, as does the pool area. We did not see any rush to get these as you do in other places. The beach sunbeds are free to use for hotel guests But other people from other hotels can hire them as do all the other hotels along the front into Rovinj. You can walk all the way to Rovinj which only take 20 / 30 mins .
The Reception was welcoming. We did find the female receptionists friendlier, Our room was not ready we still had lunch and found sunbeds in the woods. As we arrived about lunchtime and were tired we plumped for a lunch at the a la carte. The food was really good and the Croatian wine was good, the only thing was the cost. Lunch, wine and bottle of water 60 euros. The price rises are also hitting the Croatians. You would have to look around to find cheaper BUT a lot of the restaurants are the same price.
The inside of the Hotel is very well looked after with lots of chrome, glass with black, grey and white walls carpets etc. Our bedroom had a small balcony but size wise was ok, a free safe, comfortable bed, bathroom with walk in shower, good size room with everything you need.
Breakfast and Dinner Restaurant was ok, not as many tables for 2, loads for 6+. The food was good with lots of choices and staff were always refilling where needed. There was lots of fresh fruit and different juices as well as the normal styles of breakfast. At dinner you could either pay for the wine and water at the table or put it on your room as was the case with food and drink at the a la carte restaurant.
By the pool there is also a snack and ice cream bar .

A word to the wise if you want to use the spa, steam room etc you do have to be naked no clothing allowed. Indoor pool ok.

Would we go to the Hotel Eden again YES ,

We are Glad that we went to Rovinj rather than Pula or Porec as there seemed to be more to do for us.

Terrible experience of staying at Hotel Eden - once a top hotel and now completely degraded quality of service.
We stayed at the Eden Hotel 7 days ago and there were 700 guests at the hotel. We came for the weekend and to the wellness and were really shocked by the unhygienic of the wellness zone where it was like at the station. Lack of hygiene, basic epidemiological measures, overcrowding are all things I warned the hotel management about orally and with several e-mails, but I did not receive any response except that they know it all, but now it is so. Also, as we stayed at the hotel two years ago, we can also compare the excellent restaurant that was then with a top offer of food at the level of 4+ stars, while now it has dropped to barely 3 in my opinion. Only basic meals were served with no special items typical of 4 and more star hotels.
What actually disappointed us the most was the disregard for our comment and objection because we traveled more than 3 hours from Zagreb to a hotel for a vacation that was not, an oasis of peace that is hard to achieve with 700 people in a hotel at the time of the pandemic. Even that would not have been a problem if the hotel had clearly indicated on its website that it was full and that a lower level of service, a crowded swimming pool and a wellness area in complete unhygienic conditions could be expected. I’m sorry I had to write this but Maistra can and must do better. I hope that he will not turn a deaf ear to this objection now because I do not allow anyone to take my time and play with me in such an ugly way. The bottom, while this way, avoid in a wide arc.

The hotel's location is stunning. The garden and pools are beautiful and the town of Rovinj is magical. The interior design wouldn't be out of place in Stockholm but is thoroughly unsympathetic to an Italianate feeling area and climate. Lots and lots of beige and white. The food is school dinner level and really worrying in a pandemic that a self service buffet should still be operating without gloves. Staff should be managing the food service. The restaurant is severely understaffed and would have made some drinks money off us if we had ever been offered any.
When we tested positive for Covid on our penultimate day, the staff, especially Marina, Ariana, Bojan and the wonderful TUI Rep Marta could not have been more caring and helpful. In retrospect it was not a great decision to leave our home country. Please think about the prospect of paying to be isolating in a room for 10 days at the mercy of food you might not like and a lot of German TV. I will for sure visit Croatia again but would stay somewhere more authentic.

This was our 6th visit to this hotel we did have a bad experience a few years ago but previous visits proved that was just a one off problem. However this time things were not 100% as expected and we had to be allocated another room. The 1st room was on the 6th floor and was nice and clean but soon after we kept getting a bad drain/sewage smell that kept coming and going, we mentioned this to our Holiday Company (TUI) rep and they said they would mention it to the hotel. The following morning we had had enough of the smell and asked if we could be moved, we were told to come back later and that would be done. When we came back we were shown a room on the 4th floor which was clean and had no odours at the time so we accepted the room which I think was the only one available. Later on we discovered this room too had its own issues. The room looked onto the roof of the kitchen and therefore if you went out on the balcony you became engulfed in cooking odours, but the main problem was the noise. Nearly every morning around 5 am we were woken by the refuse collectors and then all the delivery vans unloading this would go on for some time and the situation wasn’t helped by the fact that the balcony door did not close properly which was letting more of the external sounds in that it should have done.
The shower could have done with some maintenance as some of the jets were blocked and others were shooting water in the wrong direction, it was too high for me to try and rectify it myself. The carpet by the bed near the glass shower panel was also slightly damp so the panel must be leaking.
Having already been moved once, we thought we would have to put up with this as the hotel seemed full. Incidentally when we moved rooms, there was a knock on the door and the hotel gave us a plate of fruit and a bottle of water for our inconvenience which I thought was kind.
The dining room has changed since our last visit, what I did notice was that the hotel was much busier and certain people didn’t seem to have the manners to wait their turn but to just push in.
The plates no longer seem to be heated and by the time you are ready to eat your food has turned cold.
The food is really good but a little repetitive, but my wife being Gluten and Dairy Free would have liked to see clearer labelling on the cooked dishes.
We did find out later that the problem with our original room was so major, that it could only be fixed when the hotel closes for the season and I was wondering if the 2nd room would have been one allocated to TUI Platinum holidays as it also got no direct sunlight?
As per usual every member of the hotel staff we had dealings with were friendly, polite and professional and with these small problems I had this time I would not hesitate to return again in the future as long as I can view the room before accepting it.

We have just returned from one week half board at Hotel Eden and are missing it already! The hotel itself is immaculate, I've never stayed in a cleaner space. The grounds are exceedingly well kept and all areas inside and outside are spotless. The cleaning and maintenance team do an excellent job. The room was cleaned and tidied each day and the beds were soooo comfy! Towels were also pristine and fluffy.

The welcome at reception was friendly and informative, and all staff from reception to spa to restaurant and bar are polite, pleasant and helpful.

We spent each day on the beach and the set up was fantastic. Beds are in great condition and most importantly, are comfortable! Each pair of beds has an umbrella which was a god send in 35 degree + heat. The beach bar staff were fabulous and very speedy, however the toilets often had a line and needed toilet paper top up - which is to be expected at a bustling beachside location, so cannot grumble.

There were plenty of options at the restaurant buffet for breakfast and dinner, you'd be extremely hard pressed to not find anything to your liking! Food stations were well managed and regularly topped up. Wait staff were efficient even though they were clearly rushed off their feet - they maintained professionalism.

We had a wonderful massage in the spa and took the guided bike tour through the park - we'd recommend both.

All in all we had a magical time at Hotel Eden and will be back in the future. Thank you!

We had a two week family here and we all loved it! The hotel is modern and clean with a good selection of food at breakfast and dinner buffets. There are a couple of on-site bars/restaurants where you can get an la carte lunch too.

The rooms are comfortable and cleaned promptly each day. We had a lovely walk in shower in our room; some toiletries are provided along with hair dryer, fluffy robes and slippers, which is a nice touch.

The staff are welcoming, friendly and efficient and we encountered no issues during our stay.

We made the most of the morning fitness classes (yoga, pilates, SUP yoga) and there are afternoon sessions which are more energetic, plus a well equipped gym. We also hired bikes and e scooters to have a look along the southern coastline.

The hotel is quite strict on people reserving sun loungers, which is really refreshing. Lovely to have hotel towels to use on the loungers too, with the ability to change them often. We never struggled to get loungers, although we were down by 10am each day. I also indulged in the spa and enjoyed two fabulous massages with Monika!

The walk into beautiful Rovinj is only 20 minutes and if you time it for sunset you’ll be rewarded with a spectacular sunset every time. Plenty to do, see and eat in Rovinj if you fancy a change and you can check out the yachts at the Marina on the way!

There is entertainment every night, some acts better than others, but it’s a nice place to sit and relax (ends at 11pm).

My teenagers said they’d like to go back!

I stayed here at the start of August for a week. Firstly, the hotel is set in the perfect location. Go left and your in a beautiful nature reserve. Go right and your a 10/15 minute walk into the town center where your find a pretty harbor and lots of bars and restaurants. The hotel is nice and renovated, but id still say it lacks on the outside. I would definitely return to Rovinj, but I am not sure id stay here again.

PROS:
The hotel rooms are nice and modern. Only con was we got a room facing the car park, meaning it was not a sun facing balcony. The pool is salt water, its beautiful and a great size. I have seen lots of complaints saying its busy, and yes it is. But we still got a sunbed at 11am. Its just pot luck. The gyms a nice size and there is a beautiful spa and indoor pool/hot tub you can use too.

CONS:
Breakfast, there is hardly any vegan options. Even the bread is made with milk. Its literally a choice of fruit or they have soya milk, but the cereal has dairy in it? Dinner has a few more choices however, they really need to expand their options for dairy and meat free people. The public toilets by the pool and indoors smell funny like sewer.

TIP: The hotel does have bike hire. But if you walk out the hotel towards the beach and into the forest, you can hire bikes there for half the price! - The beaches are busy so I would suggest waking early if you want a sunbed.

Dear jodeestrav, Thank you for choosing hotel Eden as your holiday destination in Croatia. We are delighted that you had such a wonderful stay and that you wanted to share it with us and the Booking community. We are pleased that you particularly liked the pool and the rooms. It's true, the location of the hotel and the Punta Corrente forest park are really perfect. So green...so relaxing... We trust you will have fond memories of your time here and hope you will choose us for one of your next holidays. Looking forward to welcoming you again soon in Rovinj! Best regards director Rachid Kesbi
