Lak Kivu Lodge; it's a 15 minute ride from the border. The lodge can get you in contact with LatLong security transportation service to arrange this transfer @ $20. We had also used and can recommend Barack (+250 783 303 566) and Fidel (+250 788 827 028) for any transportation needs in Rwanda and DRC. These two guys are affiliated...

I recently traveled to Goma for work. I stayed at the Lac Kivu on the recommendation of colleagues and was not disappointed. From the moment I checked in, which was very organized, everything was absolutely perfect. The room was lovely. The staff are extremely friendly, helpful and very professional. The Lac Kivu is set in a beautiful environment. Natasha, the...

Stayed in Lac Kivu Lodge during the visits to gorillas and volcanoes. Can recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to visit Goma. Taking into account that we're in Goma, this hotel is able to provide good food and wonderful views to the lake. The best views are at the restaurant and bar area. Our rooms (with letters) were on...

If you are visiting Goma 9 times out of 10 you probably are planning to go to the part and hike the volcano and/or see the gorillas. This is a good place to hold up for a night or two to get your mind right. The place is easy to get to by taxi and you shouldn't pay more than...

My husband and I stayed here for 1 night after returning from our hike up Nyirangongo volcano. We booked the Deluxe King room which is right on the lake, it was beautiful and I'm sure the cheaper rooms are just as lovely although they might not be on the lake. Our room had wifi, a coffee machine and the bed...

My wife and I spent a night at Lac Kivu Lodge the night before going into Virunga National Park. We opted for the "budget" accommodation. I had read negative reviews of the "budget" accommodation at the lodge, however we were primarily just looking for a safe place to sleep before our early morning gorilla trek and we liked the idea...

The Department strongly recommends you avoid all travel to the city of Goma ... because of ongoing instability and violence ..." as does the FCO (I'm a Brit), DFAT etc etc. It...

The one thing that is outstanding about this place is the passion and love, which can be seen in food preparation, the cooking, the well manicured grass, the well designed rooms and the positioning of rooms and seats to have a wonderful view of the Lake. The Chef, who is also the owner of this place with his wife, runs...

Good place and service. The staff is very helpful. The restaurant is also very good. Gives directly to the lake, construction is ongoing. Will be better once finished. And a plus, a nespresso type coffee machine in the room!
