We had a very large room (No 8) which is unfortunately next to the kitchen, so quite noisy in the mornings and at dinner time. The Hacienda is very beautiful and full of antiques, especially the gardens, peacocks etc. and the food was excellent. The only thing which needs money to be spent on it is the plumbing system -...

This hacienda is interesting for its elegance and historical value. Best to visit for a light lunch (potato soup and a salad) rather than dinner. We stayed in the Simon Bolivar room (#!) with only one other guest in the hotel and her guide. At lunch there were three other small tourist groups with guides. Main dishes were a great...

We stayed for 2 nights in the hotel. On our arrival we were received by a girl who spoke English fluently. She brought us to a very nice, split level room. As I was traveling with my parents we had one level with a double bed and when you went up some steps there was a single bed in front...

I spent a rainy night at Hacienda Pinsaqui on a recent trip to Ecuador. A friend and I went to the Otavalo market during the day and planned to explore Cotacatchi the next day, so the hotel was perfectly located. The grounds and the hacienda itself were gorgeous and I wished that we had planned a longer stay. Our room...

Since 2004 my wife and I have lived for extended periods in Otavalo. We have stayed at Hacienda Pinsaqui 8 or 9 times, and have made it a point to spend at least one night there whenever friends or family come to visit us from the U.S. Without exception I have seen their jaw dropping amazement at the perfection of...

This old hacienda built in the late 1700's has been restored to a wonderful getaway location... located outside Quito it is a MUST to either stay at or have lunch/dinner. Our room was in the older section and I felt I was living in the 1800's - large room with tall ceiling and enough room for 30 people! The newer...

We traveled here with our 16 year old daughter and enjoyed it very much. My wife and daughter did horseback riding with the staff. The restaurant has excellent food. My daughter liked the Gambas al Ajillo so much that she had it all three nights we were there. The rooms are somewhat cold though they build a fire in the...

We only had lunch there but it was delightful. Obviously a place the well-heeled locals frequent. We walked around to see the rooms, etc. and would have stayed there except it is so far from the town. We like the capability of walking out our hotel into the city.

Spent a 4 day holiday at Hacienda Pinsaqui and loved it. The location was perfetc: 5 kms from Otavalo city, but far enough at the beautiful countryside facing the vulcanoes and mountains. The Hacienda is truly a historical place. Great, spacious rooms with fireplaces, cozy common areas and restaurants. Enjoyed the local band playing country music in the afternoons, walks...
