Firstly good things.
It is great hotel to go with kids. Lots of pools, including warm ones, water slides and park, playground.
Very good variety of food and I liked that restaurants operated like food court, you could bring food from all 4 buffet restaurants. Tip: if you like more quiet place to eat, choose Sopranos or Moroccan restaurant.
Sealife for snorkeling is pretty good and I liked the walk to the sea (but it is long walk).
Staff was mostly friendly and some really nice guys in restaurants.

Not so nice things.
Too much different salespeople orbit around you all day long.
Worst thing is how they give you the most terrible rooms first and then next day most of people change their rooms. What a waste of time (both staff and clients) and i was really dissapointed first day. My review would have been terrible.
Strange is that you have to ask for toilet paper and tissues, room service forgets it most of the time (even if you leave the tip).

We stayed in the end of October. Days were hot and in the evening also no need for sweater. The hotel is huge, well kept and very good for families. Many rooms are renovated and the reception staff gives out renovated rooms if possible. Family rooms are very large and twin beds are separated with sliding doors. Lots of pools with small water slides, also big slides for bigger kids and adults. Staff everywhere is very helpful and friendly. Always try to find a solution good for client. Also in the pools are many lifeguards and small children are not allowed to the deep pools without adult, so very safe in pools. The food isn't anything special but you always find something good. During day time mc restaurant near the beach offers pizzas, burgers, french fries, pancakes etc.
Only minor minus is that the wifi is not working around the pools and also not very reliable anywhere else. All in all would highly recommend this hotel for families.

We have just got back from Royal Albertros Moderna. We were a group of 10. Initially we were given family rooms in what seemed to be the slightly outdated part of the hotel, however the next day we told reception staff that we we were not happy with the rooms and the location ( it was quite far from the kids pools and beach ) and the fact that we had to climb three flights of stairs with 4 small children. Upon letting reception staff know we didn’t like the rooms the next morning they promptly gave us alternative rooms 617 and 607 (family rooms) which were much better in terms of the the room itself and the location. These were located near the kids pools and the beach was a short walk away. The rooms had a fantastic view of the centre of the hotel overlooking 4 pools, and the beach. Rooms were modern, spacious and clean, had plenty of wardrobe space to place your clothes in. Big shower , double sink in bathroom. Room 617 and 607 were faultless. The facilities at the hotel were excellent, a spa including the hamam we made use of at an affordable price. The children loved the kids pools, they had slides etc. The hotel itself has multiple pools within the main centre of the hotel and also pools nearer the rooms which are located at what seems the quieter part to the hotel. Food was varied, and drinks available practically all day. Whilst we were there we went on an excursion the Desert Safari / quad biking through Naqb tours. Travel to and from was included in the price and the price for the quad was very reasonable compared to other quotes we got. We also used them for transfers from the airport to hotel and on the way back too, again without any issues whatsoever. We liaised with Elvis whilst still in England to arrange transfers. It was very easy and very reasonably priced. Elvis was great and made us feel at ease. He was always available to answer any questions we had and definitely made our stay feel safe and relaxed. I would highly recommend using Naqb tours and getting in touch with Alvis for transfers and any excursions you wish to go on. Great guy and reasonable priced. Overall we were very happy with our stay at Royal Albertros and with Naqb tours.

We have just come back from a weeks stay at the Royal Albatros. Although we had a fabulous family holiday we were left feeling rather disappointed and let down. The hotel didn’t live up to the five star expectation, with the numerous advertised selection of different restaurants serving the exact same dishes every day, in all restaurants, even though it stated six different style restaurants including an Asian, Thai, Mediterranean, German, fish and buffet restaurant, the selection became monotonous and wasn’t at all what we were expecting.
Being a family of seven we booked two rooms, one family and one standard. The family room was horrendous, the smell of sewage in the room left us feeling extremely sick, the garden view was a road, air conditioning was loud and not working properly, safe didn’t work, the door lock barrel came off in our hand, and having complained numerous times for days we were moved to another standard room but not offered any money from our original upgrade.
The decor in the family room was outdated and I would rate it a two star, however viewing the rooms on the website the family rooms look good.
Overall the hotel was clean, with lots of space around the pools, the majority of staff were friendly, however some become over powering and followed us to our rooms questioning the cleanliness and expecting us to tip them, which is quite worrying when our teenage daughter is followed alone.
The staff on the front desk were rude, and unprofessional. When visiting them daily to get the room keys redone as they wouldn’t work, they would moan that it was our fault, which was the same experience of countless other guests on our holiday.
The hotel Wi-Fi was shocking, which resulted in us buying out own 4g data SIM cards so we could contact family. The entertainment was terrible and repeated. It would have been nice to see a variety of acts and for the animation team to organise a variety of activities around the hotel for the children to do.
The on-site shops were tiny and expensive and items brought didn’t last and we’re fake. A real letdown.
Whilst the pool areas were well shaded and the staff were constantly cleaning, there are not 11 pools and the constant barrage of sales from the spa, watersports and hair salon team became annoying.

As a whole this hotel was average at best, I’m not sure how it’s classed as 5 stars.

I cannot fault the staff whatsoever, they were all extremely polite and attentive (shout out to : Savanna on the entertainment team who was a ray of sunshine. Mustafa in the restaurant and Amir who handles the relaxation pool bar who were both super attentive throughout our stay).

I found the food to be very disappointing. There seemed to be a lack of choice and it was the same most nights. There was no indication as to what was in each dish and all of the salad dishes were missing their name tags so quite frankly had no idea what we were eating. We visited the ‘White Elephant’ as we received a free trip and quite frankly I’m happy it was free as it was near enough the same as what was being served in the normal restaurant, I would not have been happy if I paid extra for this service.

Our room was nice and the cleaners were very attentive, the fridge was well stocked with bottled water throughout our stay and we also got additional extras (fruit & fizzy drinks) which was a nice touch. However upon arrival we realised our back door was broken and did not lock, we went to call reception and our phone was also broken and not even attached to the wall. Granted the staff rectified the issue but after travelling all day and reaching the hotel past 10pm we just wanted to relax and we couldn’t. I think the bathrooms need a revamp as our shower was full of limescale and mould.

The pools were good and not overcrowded and I found you could always get a sun bed whatever time of the day. We spent most of our time at the relaxation pool as it was right by our room. We visited the ‘main pool’ near the beach for roughly 2 hours before we left due to the constant interruptions asking if we wanted a massage, or to go diving or a boat trip. I am not slating the staff for asking us but I think this could be advertised elsewhere or asked when checking in rather than when your trying to relax and read a book/listen to music.

The excisions we booked through our meeting point rep ‘Hany’ were great. We found Hany to be very helpful and was on call whenever we needed him for questions we had or booking taxi’s to places we wanted to visit.

Overall the hotel was average, except the staff I didn’t find anything that truly ‘wowed’ me and considering its classed as a 5 star hotel i expected more.

Currently here now ( day 4 )

Hotel:
It’s a beautiful hotel and staff are very nice. Most are always smiling and seem happy to serve you. There is a playground that the kids love and you will find a few in there at night ,and mini golf ( to hot to do during day as no shade )
Grounds are spotless

Pools:
All pools are large enough to relax or play with the kids. Sun beds seem to be an issue. You cannot get one no matter what time you arrive around the main heated one or the cold one, there all taken. I have seen pool staff placing towels on beds in the mornings, so it’s a case of “who you know” of the pool staff to reserve you the one you want every morning.
Kiddies pool is fun with a few things for them to do in there. But it has no covering to create a shaded safe swim area and gets VERY HOT.
Be aware the floor around the pools gets very hot and slippery

Rooms:
We booked a standard room and it’s large enough for 2a and 2c ( age dependent of course). We have 6+11 year old girls and have been placed in a room with single bed and large king size. So 3 of us fit in the large one. Room is by the quiet ( adult only ? ) pool. It’s very peaceful.

Food:
Very repetitive, mostly the same every night, buts it’s editable. Its not catered for English and I wasn’t expecting it to when we haven been allowed to sharm for years. Not sure what restaurant you have to book into as wasn’t given this information at check-in and there is nothing outside any to state this.

Entertainment:
Have no idea what happens ( if anything durning the day). No entertainment team come around the different pools to let you know where/when. I have seen aqua aerobic in the heated big pool but not sure when/how you find out about this.
Evening entertainment is Repetitive..
Mini disco should just be in a loop system as the same thing is reaped in the same order along with the same 3 songs. This takes up half an hour then it’s random stuff for an hour after. It’s ok if there isn’t any talking but as the same thing is said in many languages , it’s takes a while.

Would I return: NO
Why: there doesn’t seem to be anything for the kids to do durning the day apart from swim.
Entertainment is bad so maybe worth being cards /board games along with you

We have stayed at this hotel 13 times now. We had a free room upgrade due to this. Service is excellent in main restaurant with Ezz being very attentive to all our needs and provided us with exceptional service and manners. The pool bar by the I heated pools again had exceptional service from Maged who never left us short of beverages. Our room was kept excellently clean and there was always a different animal or flower made up on our bed. I had my birthday whilst out here and received a birthday cake delivered to my room, I also received the Egyptian dance, drum playing and singing when I had my meal. The food has numerous choices from all types of cuisine. The only downside if you’re into it is the quality of alcoholic drinks it’s a game of roulette. You would think that with the size of the Albatros chain of hotels that the quality would be the same across all their hotels but it isn’t as we have stayed frequently at Dana beach and others in the chain where the quality of the alcohol was much better. We will definitely return for the 14th time. I would advise people to bring insect repellents if you’re venturing out as there have been lots of people with bites-me included! If you want a lovely cocktail visit Arab Bucks at la strada you can catch one of many minibuses stick your hand out it cost us $1 for two each way and cocktails around £3 each with plenty of choice.

We have just returned from a week stay here and was not impressed.
Hotel is definitely not a 5star hotel. On arrival check in was appalling and reception staff rude and unhelpful. Got the impression they did not want to talk to us. No information given at all, we were just given 1 room key card and no towel card.
We were a family of 4 and given a room with 1 double bed and one single bed in it which we preserved with for the first night as we arrived late. Only got a second single bed brought in after chasing reception for one.
Struggled with the room door lock system not working and all reception did was reset card with did not fix the issue.
Late flight home, no extended check out given and no room to shower/change in
Restaurant food was boring and repetitive. Same for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. Alcohol none drinkable apart from the beer
Ice cream only available for 1hr in the afternoon and 1hr of an evening which I find appalling in a children's friendly resort. None of the help your self soft drinks worked apart from soda water so kids couldn't just go get drinks in the pool areas

On a positive though, pools were good and so were the pool staff, pool bar staff and the pool cleaner guy. That's about the only positive though

Safe to say we will not be returning as not really geared up for British tourist and wasn't made to feel very welcome here. The local holiday makers were very rude and obnoxious staring and being rude to the children this was our third visit to Sharm but we won't be spending our hard earned holiday money here and will instead be going somewhere more welcoming.

The hotel is massive, the map you're given at reception is definitely worth a good read before venturing out each day so you don't miss a thing. Remember to check if you've been given towel cards for each person visiting.

The hotel is always very clean and staff are always onsite fixing or cleaning something.

There's lots of different pools you can choose from and the beds are always clean too. The lifeguards are very friendly and kind. If you want to swim in the sea, you'll have to walk all the way down the bridge and it's extremely shallow. Though it's definitely worth the walk as the water is amazing. There are fish but they stay very far once you're in the water.

The person who made our stay extra special, and the only reason we would consider coming back, is Mustafa at the Mediterranean restaurant. We cannot thank him enough for his kind greetings each morning, lunch and dinner. Our table was always ready and waiting for us and had our preferred drinks there. The attention to detail was amazing. He is a real asset to the hotel. Special thank you to Hassan who kept room 1819 so so clean each day and made beautiful shapes with the towels which we felt so bad to use!

The rooms are a little dated but nothing was wrong with them. The TV in our room didn't work, we did tell staff but nothing was done about it so we just left it.

The food could do with a little more variation but other than that it was good. The fish restaurant made good calamari. And Tagine always had a special type of meat to try, thank you to the chef who cut and heated the meat for us, very kind man. The cocktails however, were terrible. It felt like drinking squash. Mostly syrup and Sprite / 7up based.

The spa personnel could be a bit less pushy but a firm no would do the trick and no small talk.

The entertainment was very varied, we would have liked to have seen more traditional Egyptian music or dance rather than western. We didn't warm to the entertainment presenter he was very pushy and very aggressive in the way he would ask people to "wake up and clap".

Sometimes we would get random waiters approach us and ask for "change", considering we hadn't seen them before and we were eating, it was a bit frustrating.

Other than that, it was a great stay that we enjoyed very much.

We have bought a sea view pack and ended up in a very outdated room which was definitely not reflecting the 5 stars. After thorough negotiations with the receptionist we have been moved in a modern garden view room the second day. Also, the food hasn’t been great. The dishes were literally the same every day at breakfast, lunch and dinner.
In addition, we have been briefed by the guide to not have any spirits in the resort, so ended up drinking beer which wasn’t the best.
On a positive note, the kids had fun and generally speaking the resort was clean.
If you decide to visit the resort make sure that you have a lot of $1 notes as it will help you to get what you have paid for already.

Rooms
If you buy a holiday in this resort make sure to ask for a refurbished room from very beginning as they will try to give you a 1970 room claiming that is a modern 5 stars facility.

Food & drinks
If you like spirits bring your own, the ones in the resort are poor quality. The food diversity is not great and the same dishes are served every day.
