I went here with a group in October. The hotel is absolutely fascinating, totally built from natural materials found in Siwa in traditional Siwan style. Each room has its own charm. The welcome by local staff is superb. This is a great place to start your desert safaris and other excursions from. This hotel is worth visiting. The pool with...

Everything here is lovely the pool which is coming from a natural spring and the food which is totally organic from its gardens. The rooms are all from natural materials and the candles they are using for lighting. It is the best of the best.

My husband and I went to the Adrere Amellal for a romantic dinner. Since it is an ecolodge, there is no electricity, so the whole dinning hall was lit by many candles. Service was excellent. We felt like we were inside a One Thousand and One Night's story. The place is magnificent with the salt lake and the sweet water...

What an experience?!!! We went there as a group in October. The place is really heaven on earth. We were lucky enough to join a private chartered plane that takes you from Cairo. (the hotel organize these planes if you are groups of 20+) So the trip was an hour from Cairo which was great (vs. 8 hrs driving by...

Stayed here for 3 days. Wow. Amazing place. Total relaxation and return back to basics. No slave to phones, mobiles, laptops, tablets, tv or even electricity. All eco and candle lit evenings. Could enjoy actually seeing the night sky as no light pollution. No noise pollution either, so total peace and quiet. The food is grown onsite and is organic....

He will arrange meals at the times of your request, light the dandles in your room, etc. each room is different and has an edge so adds to the total experience. Food us prepared by their in...

We spent four magical nights at Adrere Amellal last month. The resort sits on the edge of the "Sand Sea", it backs on to the spectacular "White Mountain" and looks across a salt sea. The location is dazzling.....but the buildings are even more special. Each one is built of mud and salt. There is no electricity....just the glow of candle...

We stayed for 5 nights in December 2014 - if you go 3 nights is enough, 5 nights is too many. We were the only guests at this 42 room property, about 17km from Siwa town. We agonized over staying at the Taziry Lodge or the Adrere Amellal as there is a significant price difference ($600+/night for Adrere or $225/night...

“It was not very busy then and they gave us the best room available (we checked out all the other ones). All the rooms are very different, so you just have to get there and ask to see a few rooms. Some rooms are better depending of the time of year: outdoor shade or not, facing south or not etc. In winter ask for a terrace facing south without shade. In summer ask for a shady one.”
  • Outdoor bed on the terrace (there is another bed inside!)
