I don't want to damn the place too much. Most issues are with the owners rather than the staff. The staff were awesome and did the best they could to make our stay the best it could be. They were friendly and helpful and certainly the staff we got to know the best. The food was some of the best...

This small hotel may not have the most up-to-date facilities, but it more than makes up for it through its period charm (it's a converted former minor palace/fort) and beautifully decorated rooms - but above all because of its location in the heart of Bassi township, near Chittorgah in Rajasthan. It's the one place on our two-week trip where we...

Absolutely loved my stay here. The Fort is on top of a hill, around which wraps a quaint village full of friendly people. There are plenty of verandas and rooftops to explore and quiet places to admire the sunrise or sunset. Rooftop drinks at this place are a must. The rooms are beautiful. The owner is slowly restoring as much...

After driving along bumpy roads and through a couple of dusty busy villages we didn't know what to expect of our accommodation that night. When the bus finally began the spiraling ascent to the fort the level of anticipation rose. What a sight at the top of the hill! A really superb looking old fort. Every body in our group...

Stayed here as part of an intrepid tour. What an amazing place. Sat at the top of a hill with amazing views. Great lunch after we arrived and cold beers available. Our room was amazing with old murals on the walls. Yes the plumbing is a bit so so but it's a very old fort so what do you expect....

It was the most beautiful hotel room (room 101) I've ever stayed - the ceiling is so beautifully painted that it brings you back to the ancient times. In fact, the whole fort is amazing. However, it should be noted that the facility is not necessarily fully functional. For example, there is no shower in the bathroom, although there is...

Very beautiful old fort, was an awesome experience to be able to stay here. The roof top views were amazing. We stayed here while it was quiet humid, the air coolers do not handle that kind of weather. Make sure you take your bug guard!

Everyone loved this hotel and it's hard not to fall for the appeal of an ancient fort full of charm. We were there in the monsoon and the hotel simply doesn't survive the downpours well with leaks and power-cuts which meant the fan (there is no A/C) didn't work. Add to this rather uncomfortable beds and erratic electrics and its...

“There are steps to some of the rooms but the staff are happy to carry your bags. Handy to have a torch in the evening if you want extra lighting. Not sure if it is an appropriate place for very young children due to steps and fall risks.”
