Pimalai, nestled in a lush tropical forest with direct access to 900 meters of pristine sandy beach, is the Andaman destination to set your sights on. The beach resort combines all the right ingredients - subtle five star comforts, natural beauty, far from the crowds, with no noise except the sound of the waves sliding in and out and slowly breaking onto the sand.

Nestled in a stunning beachfront location, Pimalai Resort and Spa stands out for its tranquil atmosphere and beautifully maintained gardens, as noted by guests. The service at this resort is generally held in high regard for its attentiveness, although there have been mentions of occasional inconsistencies.
Reviewers consistently commend the spacious and clean rooms, which blend traditional and modern elements. While the resort's amenities, including the pools, spa, and buggy service, receive praise, some guests find the pricing to be on the higher side, yet others feel the quality justifies the cost.

We recently stayed at the hotel in a beach front villa. Great location as the villa (511) was right on the edge of the beach with a good size private pool that is shared exclusively between the 4 rooms in that area. However we had the pool to ourselves during our stay and loved waking up listening to the sound of the waves crashing against the shore.
The hotel is spread over a large area which is very well maintained, with fantastic leisure facilities and beach. We loved our early morning games of tennis with the local monkeys as our audience. The breakfast was of very high quality and the bakery goods were especially delicious. Sunset drinks down by the beach bar, relaxing on bean bags and watching the sun go down were perfect, thanks to the barman for making the long Island ice tea’s just the way I like them.
Our stay was at the beginning of the Covid 19 chaos and we found the hotel to be very well managed and extremely helpful at all times. I would like to say a big special thanks to Patrice the GM and all the front office team for their high level of customer service, guidance and professionalism during this difficult time. I highly recommend this hotel. Thank you for making our stay memorable.

We recently got back from an 8 day stay at the Pimalai Resort and Spa. We´ve stayed at several excellent hotels in Thailand, but we now have a new favorite. Everything was lovely, from the wonderful pool villa, to the breakfast, and the beautiful beach. As almost everyone comments here, the staff was always so friendly and helpful. We were greeted with a cake congratulating us on our anniversary, and flowers on our bed. The staff at breakfast made sure that I had almond milk and soy yogurt available because of my dietary restrictions. When our air conditioner broke down one night, (which wash´t a big problem as the couch in the living room easily sleeps two - and the ac worked here), their was a bottle of wine and canapés waiting for us the next day. The beach was beautiful and the little extra of ice water being refilled and the sun beds having clean sheets each day in addition to towels was great. We appreciated their focus on the environment, with no plastic (no straws, no plastic bags, etc) on the resort. We went on a great snorkeling trip with the hotel boat, and they were happy to take back with them plastic we found on the beach at Koh Rok. We were a bit unsure if we should book the snorkeling trip with the hotel or a cheaper alternative, but are very happy that we went with the hotel. The trip was so comfortable with few participants, great food and a very friendly staff. Would do it again next time. We are already trying to plan for our next trip, and now the kids are insisting on coming with us. Can´t wait!

My husband and I stayed here for 10 nights on our honeymoon. We were upgraded from a deluxe room to a one bed villa after 2 nights (due to noise from the nearby restaurant emptying bins at 11pm when we were already in bed). If you can afford it, I would definitely recommend the one bed villas. We were in room 5XX (can't remember exact room number) which is right at the southern edge of the resort. It is a group of 4 villas with a shared pool (that other guests cannot use). Until the last night of our stay there were not guests in the other villas so it felt like a private pool.
We looked out from our pool to the beach and could walk there in less than 1 minute. Whilst it is a public beach, it was not busy at all.
The breakfast was excellent - cereals, pastries, english breakfast, asian breakfast and lots of fresh fruit and juices. You could fill up and just need a small snack for lunch before dinner.
The gym is small but well equipt and the air con works well in there. In a different part of the resort is the sports zone with a half basketball court, table tennis, croquet and tennis.
Whilst you can call for buggys to transport you around the resort, we walked most of the time but it was good to know we could easily get a buggy when we were going from the bottom to the top in the middle of the day (hot!).
The food in the hotel is excellent but expensive for Thailand (although we found the room service excellent when it was pouring with rain on our first night before we got our bearings) It is only a short walk in either direction to find Thai restaurants with food at more expected Thai prices. You can also find various shops including 7-eleven in the local town. It is perfectly safe to walk along the beach, even at night (take a torch as it's dark and there are crabs everywhere!). There are a few bars situated along the beach too with more affordable drinks than the hotel.
I did a day of scuba diving with the in-house dive shop. Very professional, very safe, lunch was good and scuba conditions good.
Transfers from/to Krabi excellent. Very few people on boat and in minivan. Drinks provided.
Overall I would definitely recommend staying at Pimalai. If you have the budget then you would have no reason to leave resort (unless you wanted to) but if your budget is lower then I would say stay here and walk to local restaurants for lunch/dinner.

Pimalai was outstanding, from start to finish, the pictures don’t do it justice, the grounds will leave you speechless. The rooms were beautiful, we were upgraded to a bay front deluxe on arrival and had the sound of the waves waking us up every morning. It was hands down the most beautiful hotel we’ve ever stayed. There’s a reason this place is Number 1. If you can even stay here one night, it’s worth it to experience.
The staff went out of their way to make everything about our stay amazing, everyone greeted you with a smile and did whatever they could to help you. Specially including Noon, the host, who passed by daily to check up on us and we had some really great and entertaining conversations. She was fantastic and we were really felt to be made at home.
We ate in both seven seas and spice and rice, both were phenomenal with staff, specifically “SA” at breakfast being super friendly and helpful.
The free watersports at the beach were great, you can try your hand at anything, we did paddle boarding! We also played a game of tennis in their sports complex too, we had monkeys watching us play, it was magical. It’s amazing this is all included in the room price and really means you can have full relaxing or adventurous days.
The pools were out of this world, especially the hilltop pool. The grounds were like a lush tropical paradise and being taken up and down the hill to the different pools on golf carts was super fun.
The transfer (even if you only use it one way) to and from the airport is amazing, takes all the stress away.
The entire team at Pimalai made our stay special and big thanks to Kade on the Facebook team for an amazing booking.
We’ll be back!

My partner and I just returned from 3 nights in this amazing hotel. The views are just out of this world from every angle!
Our room was beautifully clean, the maid even came in twice a day! We had unlimited water provided in the hotel room which is great as it meant we didn’t need to leave the resort just to do a water run. The staff were so attentive, always saying hello as you walk by and remaining professional at all times. Every meal we had was amazing and we loved the happy hours.
We thought it was a great touch when staff came around to fill up your water whilst sunbathing by the pool and the beach, free of charge also. These little touches really make a difference.
The transfers to and from the hotel were luxurious (and complimentary, bonus) and staff were very accommodating when booking this in advance to our stay.
Finally, the manager came around to speak to everybody on a daily basis which we thought was great and very professional.
Overall, we highly recommend this beautiful hotel!

We really enjoyed Pimalai. The service is exceptional, attention to detail is evident in most aspects of this resort. Some areas of improvement would be the gym equipment, although well maintained, it is getting a bit older and they need more elliptical machines, and at least one spin bike. The gym is heavily used, so an update is required if they want to maintain a 5 star experience.
Restaurants are good, with Chef Peng and his team providing an excellent dining experience! Restaurant Pricing is similar to what one would pay on the main land, so expect that expense.
The resort is exceptional regarding eco tourism and maybe because of that the pricing is higher. Also, the staff seems really happy & loyal to Pimalai; that is such a comfort to know the company cares about their people.
We do recommend this resort.

I couldnt fault this place for anything, its totally amazing!! Beautiful pools, lovely staff, great breakfast & coffees, gorgeous beach, loved everything about this place. Attention to detail is amazing eg sunbeds have towelling covers which are changed whenever a guest vacated the sunbed & cold water brought to you on the beach. I totally recommend this hotel & would live to return.

This hotel has an amazing, one of a kind view: the sun sets right over the sea in front of the hotel, which you can enjoy from their infinity pool. The only problem is that the pool is too cold, even during the day, so you don't really spend a lot of time in it. Unfortunately during our stay there were also a lot of sea lice at the same time, so we mostly stayed outside of the water.
The location, views and private access to the beach are very picturesque but we wouldn't really call it a "small luxury hotel" since it has a lot of rooms and you even need a shuttle service to navigate through the premises. While the hotel was a bit outdated and the quality of the breakfast buffet not as high as we would have wished, the room service was very good and also our visit to the spa provided the perfect relaxation.

What can you say about this resort that previous guests haven’t said already? To get to Pimalai from the UK involves a long flight to Bangkok then a second flight to Krabi, followed by road and boat transfer. However, every mile travelled is so worth it! On arrival at Krabi airport, you are greeted by a member of the Pimalai team displaying the hotel’s logo. You are then escorted to a luxurious van by the ‘greeter’ who takes over all your luggage, attaches an identity tag with your room number, and is placed in the hotels care until it is delivered to your room. The whole process at this stage makes one realise that you are now on holiday and that you can relax. We felt ‘relaxed’ throughout the whole of our stay. The sooner you book a restaurant for your meal, the more likely it will be that you will be able to sit at a table of your choosing. Reservations are dealt with very fairly. Either at the beach or around one of the two infinity pools, cold water is provided all day long. On arriving at the beach, a member of staff will see you at the start of your session and will follow you to the lounger of your choice with towels and a plastic glass of ice cold water. During the morning you are treated to a couple of pieces of fruit on a stick. You don’t have to lift a finger. Should you tire of your surroundings and look for somewhere else to laze, the beach staff will quickly remove the towels and drinks you have used and make the lounger ready for someone else to use. Very efficient! The food at each restaurant/café is very good and in view of the fact that you are staying at a five star hotel the pricing of drinks is reasonable. Water is in plentiful supply – for free, although water is charged for during a meal. Every time you come across a staff member you are greeted. One becomes part of their family. As an example of the care and interest the staff have in you, when checking out I managed to leave my room key by the pool where we were ‘camped out’ pending departure, having retrieved the key and gone back to reception they had a cold flannel and cold drink waiting for me – wasn’t that nice? I do hope that the current virus problem does not impact too much on this great hotel – and I will return.

We had the most incredible stay at the Pimalai - it exceeded all our expectations from beginning to end.
All the staff were outstanding and worked tirelessly to ensure everything was perfect.
The food and drink were all exceptional - we ate in all the restaurants. We enjoyed happy hour on the beach watching the sunset over cocktails. We also took advantage of the local beach bars/restaurants, which had a great atmosphere.
The views from the hillside pool and Seven Seas are beautiful and the beach is clean, quiet and relaxing.
Our room was large, beautifully designed with great views (recommend asking for an upper floor room). Also, the fitness facilities were of a very high standard,
We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and one we will hopefully be back to very soon.
