The stay at Summer hostel was incredible! Nicky and Elliot were so helpful and understanding. The rooms have lockers and each person who stays in it gets a key to pass in and out. They have two lovely dogs who stays at the hostels and cuddles you in the morning. I would recommend this hostel for anyone staying in Koh Tao!!

Had such a great time at the Summer Guest House! Right from the first arrival the staff and owners were brilliant and super helpful., from making sure you are shown around to hiring scooters and booking day trips., diving and travel plans… they have you covered! The rooms are spotless and cleaned everyday and the communal areas allow for fun and lots of socialising. Even if you don’t fancy the main social area the rooms are located above the “hostel” area so you can go straight to your room in peace and quiet. Overall superb experience and was amazing fun, I met loads of great guests over my time there and if your a sociable person you will mix and be invited to eat and drink in the many social events the guests arrange.

I will sure to arrange my stay again with Summer when back in Tao!

Friendly atmosphere. The hostel is clean and staff very helpful and friendly too. It is possible to rent a scooter directly with them, cheaper than other places in Koh Tao, as well as buy your boat/bus/train ticket back home. The hostel’s driver was on time at 5 am to pick me up and take me to the pier. There s a 14h/24 supermarket right in front of the hostel, which is very helpful! Great cost-benefit ratio !

Summer hostel is the BEST place to go if you are solo backpacking in Koh Tao. The environment is perfect for meeting new people, but the hostel also offers more private accommodations, if you are in need of some alone time. The few days I stayed at Summer Hostel were filled with new friends and great company. The staff, Eliot, was immensely helpful with all of my needs. He arranged a free bed even though the hostel was full and woke up in the middle of the night to unlock my room (I locked my key inside, oops). A lady cleaned the entire hostel, including fixing the beds, and cleaning the bathrooms, EVERYDAY! Lastly, it is located directly across from a supermarket so you can get a beer late at night and a water early in the morning. Highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a layed back atmosphere filled with people alike.

Summer hostel is just a 5 minute walk from the main road in sariee beach past 2 of the best local restaurants, mamas and 995 duck. With dorms and private rooms at a guess it holds 40/50 people. There is a good common space where everyone spends time and there is a large shop opposite for anything you need. They have no bar at the hostel so all drinks from the shop are welcome which makes it cheap. There is a host of menus for ordering food delivery if you don't want to leave the hostel. The biggest selling point is the owner Nicky, she will give you all the info, always on hand, super relaxed and if there is ever any rules to remind guests of she does it in the most chilled friendly way, everyone leaves her best friend and will always go back there if returning to tao.

This is by far the best Hostel you could stay in on Koh Tao, especially now during COVID Time!!
They have private rooms which are truly awesome for their price and the dorms are really good, too. The hostel is lively but not stressful. No matter in what kind of room you live, you get to know people immediately since everyone is relaxing in the common area which is partly outside (great for COVID times). The dorms all have windows and ACs as well. This hostel is perfect for solo travelers but also nice for couples. Most people I met here - including myself - ended up staying way longer than originally planned because it felt so much like a home.

Once you are there you realize that it’s not far from anywhere. It’s useful to have a scooter but if you cannot ride it, you will probably become friends with people who will take you on the back of their bike ;) or you could walk, which is like 7 minutes to the beach and the „center“ of Koh Tao . The street down to the beach has some nice restaurants and shops and does not seem scary or far to walk at all.
A big supermarket is directly in front of the hostel and even during covid time it’s open till 11pm. 5 minutes walk from there is also a shop which is open 24 hours. You can definitely have drinks, music and a great time at the hostel but quiet time is respected after 11pm (so you either stay there to have a relaxed and quiet chat or you go to a bar ;)).
When I was there, they had a family dinner once a week, which was very nice as well. We could rent snorkel equipment and helmets there for free. Drinking water was also free.
One of the most important thing to mention was the staff, Elliot and Apple, who was extremely helpful with no matter what. I felt like I asked them 100 questions a day (like where to get what, etc) and they were so patient and had great recommendations.
I just felt soooo at home and safe, which was very important for me as a solo travelling Girl during Covid times <3
Thank you so so much for everything!!I will be back :)

We stayed at summer guesthouse for a week and absolutely LOVED IT. Super location, just 5/10 mins walk to the beach, opposite a 24 hour supermarket and down the road from lots of food places. Nikki and Elliot who run the hostel were absolutely amazing, they organised everything for us (our snorkel trip, scuba dive and all taxi transfers). They also taught us how to drive mopeds before renting one which was incredibly helpful! Could not be more thankful to Nikki/Elliot/Fon and all the staff (and puppies) there, incredibly welcoming, helpful and a really lovely friendly atmosphere. Super clean and comfy and amazing for the price! Will definitely be back THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

I stayed in both dormitory and private rooms at Summer for 3 weeks in July 2020. Nicky, the manager, was awesome throughout and was always happy to help guests sort out their scuba diving and transportation needs! The rooms and shared spaces were always clean and comfortable. The Smile Mart across the street also provides an incredibly convenient 24/7 option for food and drink. I would Highly recommend a stay at Summer!

From the moment we arrived at the summer hostel we were instantly welcomed by the staff. They were so caring and so helpful. The hostel itself is situated perfectly with a supermarket open 24 hours right outside and just a 10 minute walk away from the centre. The cleanliness of the hotel was fantastic and any queries we had throughout our stay were answered or solved by the staff. In the future, we will most definitely be coming back not only to see the beautiful Koh Tao but also the staff and the dogs! The dogs are so friendly whilst also being incredibly cute. Thankyou for being amazing and giving us the best stay.
