Run by a friendly Burmese family that speak 'some' English. The rooms are hut style buildings and were simple and clean enough.

Excellent location by a small but idyllic beach with calm and clear waters.

Small beach bar playing reggae music just next door and a very low key family run food from their home next door. Absolutely delicious cheap and authentic.

Air-con worked well in the room and the room also had a small fridge to use.
The room wasn't cleaned each day which we would have preferred but for the price, location and beach we have no complaints.

Their is a laundrete, store and moped hire very close.
They also provided a free shuttle to and from the pier which was very handy.

We have stayed here a few times now and it is paradise. The rooms have a sea view and are close to a private beach which is awesome for shorkelling. The owners are lovely. Restraunt has good breakfast and Thai food. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a chilled stay on Koh Tao.

We booked the sea front villa. The sound of the ocean as it laps up in the rocks just at your door step. With what seemed like our own private beach and cute little bar we found this the perfect place to forget about the stresses of life even if it was just a 2 day visit. Decent breakfast from 8am and restaurant open till 8pm. Beautiful family run resort. We got chatting to the youngest daughter i think she was adorable ahowing is her pet rabbits telling us where to snorkel to see turtles and recomending a resteraunt in sairee town for us to eat which didnt dissapoint. If you want something chill romantic and remote away from all the craziness this is the spot.

No restaurant, pool, or coffee shop. All closed/Covid abandoned. The beach was lovely & quiet but we had to walk into town for any food. The hosts were nice but don’t stay here unless you’ve rented scooters (or are ok walking to find food or drink or everything else.)

A small local run operation which has great ocean view rooms. It is located away from the busy town area on a cliff at the southern part of the island. In front of it is a small sandy beach, great for snorkeling. Very peaceful and has beautiful sunset view. It has its own small restaurant, mainly common Thai dishes. There are nothing else in the near by area and you really need to have a car or a motorbike in order to go anywhere. Not suitable for walking. They have motorbikes for rent and can arrange ferry pier transfer. The room is basic and clean. The staff are all very friendly. Overall a nice place to stay if you prefer a quiet and laidback holiday.

My husband and I went backpacking through Southeast Asia in late July of 2015. We chose the island of Koh Tao for its scuba diving (Ocean Sound Dive and Yoga), and it was amazing. We booked and paid the PD Resort through expedia; however, upon arrival (after taking a night bus from Bangkok to Chumphon and a ferry ride at 6am) they couldn't find our booking, and we were told they no longer look at their expedia account (this turned out to be a blessing in disguise). The photos of the PD resort are mostly of the amazing view and very very little of the rooms... hint hint. Anyway, they tried to accommodate us by giving us a bungalow for one night, and then they were going to move us the second night into their sister hotel right next door. We are not high maintenance at all so we were okay with that until they put us into the bungalow right beside the main building/lobby... the room was poorly constructed plywood walls with a thatched roof. We could have stayed there, but, it was the principle, we felt totally robbed and mislead. It was because of this that we decided not to stay, we did not get any of our money back, but we went down the road and stayed at the View Point Resort. We payed a bit more, but it was worth it to us, we got what we paid for at the View Point, and didn't feel like we were getting ripped off; the views are beautiful, and the rooms are all stunning (we checked their different room choices when we were deciding whether we wanted to stay at the PD Resort or switch to the View Point). In the end we decided to move to the View Point because, hey, how often are we going to get the opportunity to go to Thailand and visit the beautiful island of Koh Tao? We are so happy we changed hotels it was definitely worth it for us.

I feel very sorry to have to write a review like this... I LOVE writing positive reviews, but we felt robbed, and we think that if you're going to choose this hotel that you should have a fair warning.

Positives about PD Resort: We only saw the bungalow next to the main building... maybe the other bungalows are nicer? Also, we didn't get chance to talk to the owner, but the manager was very kind and helpful.

Good luck in your travels!

Great place hidden from all the crowds. Great staff, very interesting people that we spend few night having great conversations with. Lovely view from our hut, mind you we came back and forth so we stayed in 4 differny huts and they were all great. Food is delicious and you have an amazing sunset views from the restaurant.

We stayed here for 9 nights and had a wonderful time in the peaceful, quiet and clean familyrun resort. The food is very delicious and the family is very nice. The bungalows are comfortable and the bathrooms have a modern design. They have warm water and fan (we do not like sleeping with aircon) and are affordable, also for young couples :-)
We can fully recommend P.D. Resort and will surely come back when we are in Thailand again!

If you want to relax on Koh Tao, just hearing the sound of the sea and the crickets, eating at their nice restaurant in front of the sea where the whole family cook for you, meeting a real great Thai family, you've just found the perfect place.
After a whole week travelling around Thailand to discover the country, their temples and buddhas, we wanted to find a peaceful place where we could relax for a few days before going back to our crazy parisian life. At first, we had a reservation for 6 nights at Buddha View (Fan Deluxe room - 900 Euros per night). But when we arrived, we realized that it was a room in a building, right in front of the crowded scuba diving center, which is a great scuba diving center actually (I got the Open Water there), but this was not really what we had imagined when thinking of relaxing at Koh Tao. We dreamed more of a small bungalow in front of the sea. So we decided to walk around to find it. And luckily we did :-) The whole family (the parents and their boys, teenagers and young adults) greets you all the time with a great smile. We can see that they really enjoy welcoming people and take care of them. O, one of the boys (actually our favourite ;-) is an architect and he designed the bungalows. They are nice, facing the sea, with a fan on the ceiling (which was fine for us, we don't like to sleep with AC), hot water, a terrace and a amak, next to the nice beach, and we paid just 1200 Euros per night.
In order to get there from the pier with your bags, either you can see with them if they can pick you up, or you can take a Taxi boat. If you walk from the Buddha View (about 15min walking distance): when you are looking at the sea, take the path on your right (following the sea), you will then walk on a small bridge leaving from the beach to a restaurant on the sea, go through it and continue walking, following the sea. Then you arrive at View Point so go up the stairs until you arrive on a country road (a bit on your right at the end of the stairs) where you will turn left and go straight on. After maybe 200m, you will see on your left P.D.Resort (when you do it once, it is then really easy to find your way, don't worry :-) .
If I ever go back to Thaïland, I will definitely stay there again. Thank you very much, O and your whole family, for our wonderful time with you.

We though this resort would be a nice small bungalow with good reviews. It is a small resort run by a local alright, but the at night we got all kinds of bug crawling around the room. The linen was smelly and not clean. For the price we paid, this was way to expensive. The food at their restussrant was OK and reasonable. If you want a good holiday stay, pay higher.
