Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

After the chaos of the pier, Koh Tao Cabana was an oasis of calm. Every staff member was friendly and helpful when you need them. Resort grounds were immaculate and the sheer numbers of butterflies was astounding. Restaurant and breakfast was in arguably the most scenic we have been to. Infinity pool was great but could do with a pool bar. BYO everything for beach or pool is the tip but both are beautiful in surrounds. 10 minute walk up the beach to walking street and all the restaurants, bars and nightlife you could want. Best snorkeling I found was on the point.

We have just returned and stayed in the Treehouse for 5 nights WOW what a treat. The views are insane and my little boy LOVED that he was staying in a treehouse, it is very spacious and comfortable. There is some noise from the bars but earplugs are provided so it didn't keep us awake. My only complaint is regarding breakfast I am gluten and dairy free. There was no GF bread and at the beginning of our stay almond milk was an option but then they ran out, and didn't seem to replace it so I couldn't have my much needed coffee in the morning. Easy problem to rectify though ;-) I would definitely return and would stay in the treehouse again

Koh Tao Cabana is an absolute gem! Such a wonderful property and the staff is amazing. The resort is located in a beautiful spot on the island and has the best sunset view! We stayed in two different rooms and they were both incredibly gorgeous. I'd recommend this resort to anyone who wants to have an amazing stay in Koh Tao

Loved this hotel. We booked a tree house over looking the ocean and the views were spectacular, the house very spacious and comfortable. The staff were always friendly and helpful and we ate at the restaurant a couple of times which was nothing fancy but good. The only negative thing is the noise. I'm not sure if it was just because we were higher up but we heard the thud of dance music from the nearby bars until around 3am each night. To be honest, we didn't get much sleep for the 3 nights but that's not the hotels fault. Would return but would bring ear plugs next time!

This was our 4th visit to beautiful Koh Tao Cabana. Just a perfect holiday. Wonderful villas (which are so much more authentic than a typical hotel room), awesome views, comfortable beds, inside/outside bathrooms in the treetop villas (which we love! the occasional gecko is a bonus!), hammocks to relax in, lovely breakfasts overlooking the bay, excellent snorkelling, sun loungers (and cocktail service) right on the most scenic beach, a beautiful pool and friendly staff who go out of their way to assist. One negative (that the resort can do nothing about) is that the party noise from the beach can be loud at times. The main party venues are about 800 meters away, but the sound carries across the water, esp on a windstill night. It doesn’t bother us at all - it’s quite festive in fact! - but if you’re a light sleeper, you may need to use the earplugs (which the hotel provides) or crank up the aircon. We’ve been coming here for nearly 20 years. It really is our happy place.

The hotel had its pros and cons. I would stay here again purely for location and the accommodation, but service was just okay. For the price, I had higher expectations. Pros We loved the size of our villa. If you want to be close to the pool and water ask for villa 1. We were steps away from Sairee Beach and as a couple who wanted to be close to the action but not a noisy spot - this was the perfect balance. Laundry service quick and efficient. Cleaning crew was great!! Beach and pool are beautiful. Lack of service at both places (we could never find anyone to order a drink and often towels were unavailable) Cons Breakfast was one of the worst hotel breakfasts I have ever had. Breakfast wasn’t full set up at the time they claimed, and it took 50 min to get a coffee on one occasion. 30 min on another. I would grab breakfast elsewhere on the beach. Service was just okay. Decent on some occasions and totally lacking in others. The man (I forget his name) who picked us up at the pier our first day was lovely. We had lovely catch ups with him throughout the trip. Otherwise, I can best describe the service as, meh. Could have been way better, but could have been worse. We were celebrating our honeymoon and hotel did nothing to celebrate this. They didn’t even wish us a happy honeymoon upon arrival or at any time during the trip. We saw that they went all out for other guests, which was a tad disappointing but all good!! Not make or break. Wish there was coffee maker in room.

Above and Beyond! I realized I had forgotten my passport with the motorbike hire when I arrived at the airport on Koh Samui to depart. The staff found it and sent it via boat and car to meet me at the airport so I could catch the last flight out. I knew fear that day as I discovered that being without a passport in Thailand means you have few rights and fewer options. The grace shown by the Koh Tao Cabanas staff got me through it as my hosts turned into my heroes. BTW, the views, hospitality and rooms were spectacular as well.

This hotel is a big jokes. They sell 1000thb bungalows for 5000thb prepare to have mosquito inside your room when I booked they had a Nice deluxe villa on agoda for 4500thb but the booking team did a trick and confirmed me on a really bad cottage villa. I was giving them the chans to correct it but they wanted extra money for that so I checken out after 1 day and open case by agoda. Will hope it help other travelers

Had a wonderful time here. The location and facilities are brilliant, but what made it were the staff. They are so kind and helpful. The day we left there was torrential rain, and the staff provided us with raincoats and a shuttle to the ferry. Never experienced such nice staff!

This was a really nice stay for us. We upgraded to the Ocean View villa (#16) and we’re glad we did. Truly stunning views! It was a comfortable space. The pillows were good. Bed was pretty standard but plenty big for two tall people. We liked the location due to being a bit secluded at the end of the beach. It feels private. The beach itself is lovely and super clean! They have lounge chairs, towels, SUP boards, and kayaks for free (and snorkel/mask for $100thb for rent). A man has his boat available for a water taxi most days. Snorkeling by the “snorkel desk” was great. We never used the pool because the ocean was so perfect. The restaurant food was just OK. We did enjoy the fruit smoothies (watermelon, pineapple and mango) and the papaya salad. Beautiful view and lovely restaurant staff. I will say our cabana got a lot of noise from the bars down the beach (mainly the Lotus) which had loud electronic music going until early in the morning. I think it must’ve been something to do with the acoustics of the rocks - it was seriously loud. So bring ear plugs just incase.
