Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

You pay for the views which are absolutely incredible and worth it! The setting is beautiful and I spent hours just watching the scenery. Pick up and drop off from the pier was easy and free. The hosts aren't particularly friendly but I prefer to be left alone so that style suited me just fine. Bungalows are simple with stained curtains and bedding, uncomfortable pillows and pretty hard beds. The air con and wifi worked great! Breakfast is ok - you get basic coffee and artificial orange juice, anything of better quality is not included and was extra. At the price point of this hotel, I expected better. The hotel description on tripadvisor and amex site state that it has a private beach which is not true - there is no beach access; no path that you can take down to the water. I was specifically looking for a place with beach access so misrepresenting this on their description was not appreciated. Also they do not take credit cards which is ridiculous for a hotel in this day and age. The restaurant on site is pretty expensive. I only tried their fried banana and ice cream and wasn't impressed enough to want to try anything else. I ate at a nearby restaurant that was a 5 minute walk and a third of the price.

We didn’t stay at Blue Heaven Resort. The review is based on the cafe/restaurant at Blue Heaven Resort. We hired a taxi with a driver to take us to 4 places for 1,500 Baht. The views at Blue Heaven are beautiful. The drinks at Blue Heaven were excellent.

I have been to Koh Tao 4 times and stayed in 5 different resorts and I can honestly say that Blue Heaven offers the very best Koh Tao experience. My reason for holidaying in Koh Tao is to enjoy the beautiful natural setting, to experience the local culture and amazing food. Blue Heaven offers this in perfection. The first thing that will hit you when arriving are the amazing views across Aow Leuk Bay and out to Shark Island. This is the reception / restaurant / bar, a favourite place. The resort is at the top of a ridge in a natural setting amongst lush tropical foliage. There are 7 bungalows that are all very private and well appointed. The air conditioning is AMAZING, especially when it is a hot humid day. We stayed in one with a lovely balcony and open air bathroom (see photos) Even the bathroom had amazing views! We loved the restaurant and ended up eating dinner there 7 out of the 8 nights of our stay. The highlights on the menu were the soft shell crab, whole barramundi, Tom Yum & Tom Kah soups and the family favourite spicy pork mince dish. Soooo good. Blue Heaven is away from the hustle & bustle of Sairee Beach, which is only a short 10 minute ride by scooter away. If you get the chance, go to Blue Heaven, you will love it!! (Even if it just for a meal)

The hotel is located at hillside of the island with the terrific view of Ao Luek Bay. The room was very clean and fully furnished (but it has no TV). Wifi available all area of the hotel. The hotel staff (and owner) were very kind and helpful. The restaurant was in opened air area with wonderful view. The food was tasty and reasonable price. We had awesome time :-).

Yes, in this place a great view, but no more. The rooms are small and made poorly, not comfortable. There is practically no place. Not safety. When you in the room you can’t lock the door. Anybody can come while you are sleeping, just put any stick in a huge hole in between doors and open it. There are huge holes in the bathroom that not only insects, but a snake or even piton can crawl in easily, because the houses on the mountain are surrounded by the jungle. The bathroom itself is poor and dirty, there is no hot water. The hotel is very far from everything: the sea, shops and restaurants. Transfer, as is customary in other hotels on the island, for trips to places of life there is no (only a taxi). The food in the restaurant is very expensive. It tastes ok, but no more. There are no European dishes at all, not even sandwiches, pizza or spaghetti. If you don’t eat Thai food, only expensive taxis are waiting for you. Hosts greedy for money. The worst place we visited on Tao.

1) Ants problem in the hotel including in the room and on the bed. 2) Do not make up the room during the stay 3) reception clerks don't understand English and close around 9pm. 4) the location is quite problematic since any cab to the center is 300 THB and there is no much to do in the hotel or near. must rent a car or bike. 4) low pressure of water on the bathroom. Good things: 1) Nice view 2) breakfast 3) the owner is nice and his English is good.

Spent five nights at Blue Heaven and after reading previous reviews have come to the conclusion that people really need to lighten up. Sure, blue heaven may be quite isolated - all the more reason to stay if you wish to escape the tourist scene, in fact the isolation was quite a highlight of our trip. A taxi ride away from the main pier and Sairee, a 25 minute walk to Aow Luek bay (definitely not for the faint hearted!) alternatively a cab to Aow Luek. Rooms are comfortable and accurate to online images with fans and mosquitoe nets. As with all bungalow accommodation in south east Asia, ensure you have mosquito repellent and coils. Also expect the fact that due to the beautiful surroundings the bungalows have been built you may or may not come across some geckos and centipedes - it was there environment before the bungalows were built. Views from bungalows are second to none! Words can't do the views justice! The fact that wifi / phone reception isn't available from bungalows really shouldn't be an issue with views this great - put your phone away and immerse yourself in it. For those dependant on wifi, the connection at reception / the restaurant is great. Food at the restaurant (breakfast, lunch and dinner) was definitely a highlight of our time at Blue Heaven! Do not miss the French toast for breakfast. Fried chicken (starters on main menu) MUST NOT BE MISSED! Service, what can I say?! Mak and his team can't be commended enough! The friendly welcoming service cannot be faulted and made this amazing place hard to leave, nothing was an issue! Transfer from pier to blue heaven is available if preorganised alleviating the stress of dealing with it yourself on arrival. Overall, any online images or anything written do not do this place justice, will definitely be back!

Lofty views, cool breezes, great food, lush atmospheric music, so nice. Favorite restaraunt so far on Koh Tao. Got here an hour before sunset, which was perfect. Also, the road here really wasn't as "tough" as described. No problem on a basic scooter with reasonable driver skills and common sense.

This place has the most stunning views, you go up to the first floor/roof area, have a beer and watch the world go by. You can see the coral reef from here and the bay is simple stunning. The place its self if fairly difficult to get to but to be honest its well worth is, wonderful.
