Great service, even helpful with ferry transfers. Place is restful and relatively quiet for Koh Tao. Across the street is an outdoor restaurant and popular hangout for all aspiring divers. 🤙🤙🤙 padi

Good points:
Extremely helpful staff, best in thailand to date. My girlfriend injured her ankle and they did everything possible for us.
Great location, close to pubs and restaurants, scooter rental, pharmacy.
Cute bungalow.
Clean.
Good aircon.

Bad points:
Shower flooded the bathroom when used and was quite small.

We had a nice stay at the Resort. Clean Bungalow and also a clean bathroom. There was a daily roomservice and the staff was very kind, especially Ann who always asked if everything’s ok and organised a cute honeymoon decoration in our room as a surprise. Thanks! The best - you are allowed to use the great and beautiful pool area of the neighboured Simple Life Cliff View Resort (better, high priced rooms).

Me and my Wife booked by email and made two phone calls to them.We booked a room on the beach and wanted to do open water dive course. We got picked up by there bus at the pier and dropped off at dive center. On arrival they had no rooms available and blamed one of there staff. We showed the email we sent two months before. One of the instructors tried to find us another room, but they were full booked.Bad business.

My wife and I stayed at Simple Life while she was doing her open water and advanced scuba courses. The accommodation (garden facing bungalow) was clean and comfortable with everything we needed (including hot water, very necessary after a dive!).

From a diving perspective, Simple Life was amazing, both the fun dives and dive course were professionally run, affordable and most importantly fun! Jo, Whitney and Dan were all fantastic instructors and made us feel safe in the water.

Ten days and the bathroom basin has not been cleaned once, watched the cleaner go in, sprayed a perfume round, changed the towel, emptied the bin and left! No cleaning.
The bar is loud every night. Asked to be furthest bungalow away but still noisy.
Pool area is nice looking but every day for ten days has been packed with noisy dive lessons. My wife didn't take a course but has certainly learnt the drill. Getting very tedious. Pool is also murky, one dive instructor joked there was an alligator at the bottom and a turtle would never condescend to swim in it. Neither would I.
Beach is small and messy.
Leaves are swept up every day, but not dropped litter which has been outside our bungalow for days.
Asked for tea at breakfast, told there is none.
Also the resort is too far to the south end of the beach. Picked it hoping for quiet, but it isn't especially.

this trip was done at the last moment, one email and it was all sorted!!!, room booked, dives booked, pick up from the ferry no problem.
the staff are extremely friendly and very professional ( not just the dive staff!!!)
check in was smooth and painless 5 min from walking through the door i was being shown my room, yes it's small but this is a diving resort!! the rooms really only for sleeping, rooms are clean, functional I chose to stay in the air conditioned garden view villas which are directly opposite the bar / restaurant, noise? not an issue again this is a diving resort!! so it's not blasting out loud music at all hours of the night. food is very good and reasonably priced, after dive beer is COLD and the fridge is full.
Diving... on arrival i was met by Jo and my 3 day 10 dive trip was organised, as an experianced diver traveling on my own i was made to feel welcome and part of the family, diving is great, dive masters are knowledgable about the sites ( special thanks to Lucas & Philipp) if your looking for some where to learn to dive or just to dive i think you'd be hard pressed to fine a better setup on Koh Tao, Small manageable groups, personal attention and a great team spirt

I visited several hotels in Thailand and this one was the worst one. First thing on arrival you must to pay 1000 bht or leave your passport for the key deposit. Is dirty all around outside and the rooms as well, especially the bathroom is just disgusting. The all resort need restoration or at least cleaning and painting. Could be nice because of the location, but need some work. You can clearly see that there is not enough money and instead of trying to keep the customers happy just a little bit they make you upset more. We ask on the last day if we can do bit late check out, just two hours. After she checked if the room is free after us, she said yes but you have to pay 200bht per hour. Not recommended at all. Thanks for stay Simple Life & talay Divers

My friend and I got our PADIs here together, and though there happened to be a storm around the island most of the time we were there the course was still so much fun. Once we got past the classroom part and got to know the other students and instructors better, it was great getting to hang out with them on the boat, everyone was friendly and made you feel really comfortable in what could have otherwise been a stressful situation. Kahlil was an awesome instructor, very helpful and funny and informative on any kinds of questions we asked him. I wasn't worried once having him teach us how to dive.
The accommodations were a little less than I was expecting, but regardless I had an amazing time and all the staff there were great. Thanks for everything!

I came to simple life to get my open water padi. In regards to this, it was amazing I could not fault the diving instructors or anything to do with the diving. The fault is in the accommodation. It was absolutely disgusting. I stayed in a double room - yes I didn't pay very much for it but for the state it was in I wouldn't have let my dog sleep in there. For starters there was a gap between the door and the wall so the room definitely did not feel secure. The sheets had marks on them. I complained at the front desk on the first night and was practically in tears and the woman did nothing and basically just acted on the fact there was a language barrier and that I was young. There was an air con unit in the room but when I asked for the remote I was just told it didn't work and was given a standing fan so was boiling. The bathroom ceiling looked as though it was about to fall in and god knows what would have fallen on you if it did. The bathroom mirror was so dirty you could not actually see your own refelection - how long does it take for them to have got a baby wipe and just cleaned it before guests arrive?? The shower was so disgusting I actually ended up taking my soap etc down to the pool and showering in the outside shower there as it felt cleaner. On the first night I was so disgusted by my room I had to walk down the road to the restaurant I had ate in that night to use their toilet. On the other nights I utilised the toilets in public places so I didn't have to go back in the room. Doing that diving was amazing however when we were learning in the pool we went underwater and you could see how disgusting the pool was with hairs and just general dirt under the water. Luckily I had accidentally booked my last night at one of the other Simple Life resorts but I was so glad I had because it was paradise compared to this hell hole. Definitely put a downer on my amazing trip to Thailand especially as I travelled alone for the first time this is not what I thought I would have to go through.
