This hotel is set within a beautiful garden. I booked a "deluxe double room with balcony" on the 2nd floor for one night. Room was nicely painted and included a large comfy bed, wardrobe, bedside tables, desk, fridge and kettle, and a balcony with table and chairs, which looked out over the garden. TV was comically small, but not an issue for me. The only fault I found with the room was that the walls are bare concrete, creating an echo. You will hear every cough and giggle from the rooms below and next to you. The restaurant serves breakfast, but they also put out coffee and toast in the morning. Location is pretty good, set away from the main town area but thus making it quiet at night. Staff were great, and English is spoken fluently here.

A fantastic place to stay in Lampang.
Great rooms with great air con and a balcony.
The whole place is spotlessly clean and all the staff are so friendly, welcoming and helpful. The location is perfect, only 10 minutes walk over the bridge to 7 11 and restaurant's. Go to (aroy one baht) for stunning Thai food. Wow!!
The pedestrian Street outside turns into a lovely night market on Fridays.
Breakfast was freshly cooked to order.
Over all a fantastic chilled out place to stay.
No forgetting the new little cafe right outside that does amazing coffee, cakes and incredible spaghetti dishes amongst other things.
They even posted our daughters toy to our next hotel 🙏

This hotel was a big surprise to us. The price is very good considering what you get. The hotel is located in the old neighbourhood with historic sites a few minutes away by bike. Bikes are available from the hotel.
The hotel is very colourfull with rooms surrounding a garden with a pond. The wifi is free and worked fine in our room, breakfast was not included but can be ordered the night before (100B). You choose from a couple of set menus which breakfast you want to have. Coffee, tea and bananas were complementary and available 24/7.
Our room was very spacious, clean and had a balcony overlooking the lush garden, minibar and aircondition. Staff is very friendly and helpfull; they made a print free of charge and called to the trainstation to check if our train was delayed which it was so we had some extra time to explore the neighbourhood. We went to the house on 116 poles, just a block away (Baan Sao Nak).
This is a two star hotel probably because of the basic decoration of the rooms, but we think it’s worth three stars.

We discovered Auangkham by chance while searching the Internet. Our family stayed there for one night after finishing our northern Thailand roadtrip. It made for a refreshing stop on the way back to Bangkok.

Auangkham is medium sized, clean and efficient with an old school charm if you can call it that. The central location of this family operated business makes it ideal for holidayers looking to explore the attractions of Lampang, as well as anyone who has to be in the province for business.

Parking space is limited to, say, probably eight vehicles. We are not sure how many rooms they have in total but we managed to take up the last two spots in the night of our stay. We imagine parking to be a small inconvenience if all the guests arrive with their cars.

There is no reason to not like this place. For what it is worth, we did not see a comparable accommodation in the five kilometers radius as we walked about the town and market areas before checking out. We will stay at Auangkham again if we have to visit Lampang for any reason.

Two friends and I stayed here and loved it.the owner was so helpful.the place was spotless and garden beautiful.it was about 10mins walk into the main streets.found it difficult to find a bar resturant.we eventually found the riverside resturant on the river near the swing bridge which was great.taxis were about 150 baht back to the hotel which the resturant orgsnised.another good resturant was pks cafe around the corner from the hotel.

We spent four nights at the resort and we really enjoyed our stay.
The owners could not have been more friendly or helpful.
The accommodation is in two buildings both overlooking a great garden.
Our room was spacious and the bed was really firm & comfortable.
Everything was spotlessly clean.
The TV channels were all in Thai - which was interesting & made a change from the usual BBC World.
The neighbourhood was quiet and residential with quite a few interesting wats within walking distance.
On a Friday evening there was a small night market just along the road.
The accommodation was a 10 minute walk from the town's main night market (Sat/Sun).
Also close by was a great outdoors lunchtime restaurant - the Lansen Buffet.
Opposite is coffee shop that does great coffee.
Ask the Auangkham owners for directions.
Breakfast was okay - we asked for fruit & were given it. Maybe it should be on the menu?

The Auangkham Resort in Lampang's old town is off the tourist trail, thus it is not the easiest place to find. It took us some while zig-zagging the small sois, before we finally gave up and called the hotel. End of problem, they talked, I drove and we were in the resort within a few minutes. The area is actually quite unique, unspoilt and with some delightful architecture. The Hotel is set back off of the road, which makes for easy and convenient parking. A simple check in and a cold beer later we were in our brightly decorated room. The room is fine, although I would have like to have had a wardrobe, the balcony/ terrace area overlooking the gardens was really nice, and the shower-room basic but perfectly adequate. Internet was fine, the bed was comfortable and the mini-bar welcoming! Didn't like the low hanging lights by the bed, clunked my head a couple of times. The real stars of the show at the Auangkham are the hosts and to a lesser extent the beautiful, well kept gardens. The whole family here are friendly, interesting, knowledgeable, hard working and thoroughly good people. They endured my two and a half year old son playing vigorously in their well crafted games area with a smile and plenty of encouragement. On the second day at the resort, apart from a brief foray into town to pick up a few essentials and have a look around, we spent all out time at the resort, me drinking beer and eating take out pizza, my wife mulling the meaning of life with various family members and my son enjoying the Lego set and toy cars. In short, a good time was had by one and all. Yes we will return, we have even invited the owners to come and stay at our resort in Sattahip. 8.5 out of 10.

To be honest, all the other TA reviewers have already said it all - this place is great and you'd be daft not to stay here if you're in Lampang. The owner is fantastic - very knowledgeable about the area - he gave us some great tips for an afternoon of sightseeing on our rented motorbike. We treated ourselves to a deluxe rooms which was lovely. The bed was comfortable, sheets looked new and everything was spotlessly clean. We'd definitely go back to both the resort and Lampang - both were a breathe of fresh air after busy Chiang Mai.

The Thai owner of this great B&B place makes your stay special and is very knowledgable about the city and surrounding. There hotel sign on Wiangnua Road is only in Thai language so watch out for the yellow house so you'll not miss it. Either you order in advance the daily breakfast together with free tea or coffee or you simple go to the nearby local market. You can also bring your food back to Auangkham Resort and use their dishes. Living now 6 years in Thailand as expats we were really surprised about this small town with nice old houses and great atmosphere. The temples are a bit spread out so in case you don't have your own car the B&B rents bikes which is anyway a healthy alternative. Rooms are basic but very clean and are located around a nice garden. Don't be surprised to be waken up by rosters int he morning but that's all about staying in the country side. Lampang is for sure the most beautiful and authentic Thai town we've seen so far and we'd love to come back to Auangkkam B&B.

Absolutely gob smacked to be greeted by the owner with a warm hug. I picked the resort from reviews on the internet, only to find on my arrival that the owner used to work for me some 20 years ago, when we lived as a family in Lampung and I worked on the Mae Moh power project. He has been very helpful in my search to make contact with local Lampung friends from our past.
New travellers will find previous reviews to be accurate. This is a well planned small boutique style resort, full of quiet charm. An excellent place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, yet an easy 10 minute walk to the "center" of town. Lampang is rich in culture and well worth a visit. Dont miss the historical museum next to the clock tower, near the river. Do stay at the Auangkham Resort. You will not regret your stay.
