Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

From the outside and the lobby, this place looks very good. Inside the room is quite dated. Windows, bed, appliances, outlets, sink, shower are all quite old, but functional. No hair dryer or iron. Small mini-fridge. (-1.5 star) The restaurant area is very beautiful. The breakfast is pretty good. There are a couple coffee bars, although were not open at 8 am. Staff was kind. My biggest complaint was the charge for laundry service. Granted, it was VERY fast (2 hour turnaround time), but it ended up being 3000 baht (which was more than the room I think. (-1 star) I would consider other options but wouldn't rule this out in the future. I would not do laundry here though!

We stayed 2 nites to attend our son's wedding in Lampang. The room was clean & comfortable. Breakfast was simple but adequate. The staff was efficient & friendly. Good hotel if you're in Lampang. The hotel has a nice outdoor garden & is 5 mins walking distance near to Central Mall.

Truly horrible. Dark rooms. Garden view was a walk with pidgeons. Breakfast was sausage flowers. Toilet seat cracked. Cracking noise in walls all night. Mold in bathroom. Dirty walls. Booked for two nights but I'm going to move today.

Could do with a bit of modernisation and updating. Rooms are bit tired and dated and could do with modernisation. Evening meal was excellent but breakfast was cold. Staff were attentive and helpful and very friendly.

The gardens and carp pond at the back of the Hotel, where the restaurants are located, are stunning and beautifully designed, clearly a more recent addition and frankly rather unexpected when checking in and going to the rooms which are a bit dated, but having said that are perfectly fine and comfortable. The Hotel is well located in the town and attractions are walkable. We had an evening meal in the restaurant and it was fine, Thai food of course, very reasonably priced. Breakfast was again Thai style. Certainly I would return to this Hotel as its great value for money with very friendly staff.

I wish I had read the Tripadvisor reviews before I booked, but hey ho. Funny, I will never go to a restaurant without checking Tripadvisor, but I have not got into the habit for hotels, lesson learned! It's a great building, would have been magnificent in its' day. It is in dire need of some money and TLC, rooms are OK but very worn and need urgent maintenance. Water in shower lukewarm, everything old and in need of maintenance, no black-out behind white curtains so hard to sleep after sunrise, TV signal very intermittent, room power-cutoff when key removed not working... and more Staff were in general good and helpful. However, in five days stay, zero evidence of any 'management presence'. I think it would be fair to the staff to have some... Breakfast was good, some of the best cheese-omelets I have had in Asia. Coffee a disaster zone, even when made with the big boy coffee machine. If I went back to Lampang, I would find an alternative property. Price was far too high for the quality.

Room Tip: The city has grown around this hotel so many of the rooms look onto industrial-style rooftops. Sad.

Older hotel in the center of Lampang, not that far from some interesting Lanna-style temples. Rooms are fine, but the bathrooms are really in need of a renovation. Breakfast is nothing special, just okay.

Hotel is centrally located. Rooms are clean and comfortable, though hotel is showing signs of age. Breakfast was good, but if you're used to the buffets offered at many larger Thai hotels you'll be disappointed. Staff is friendly and eager to please. Wifi on the upper floors is spotty at best.

Oh, this is a grand hotel! It is beautiful and friendly, quiet and homey, efficient and comfortable too! The staff meets you at your car in the lot and carries everything for you. Just walk in and be awed by a lobby that is so lovely, people actually use it for relaxation, writing, meeting, and reading. The front desk staff is outstanding, and full of local knowledge. Our city experience was much better for consulting them! There is wood everywhere, convenience everywhere, service everywhere, cleanliness everywhere, amazing staff everywhere and great food! We ran out of things to ask for at the complimentary breakfast. Our room was outstanding, clean, with a beautiful wood floor in parquet pattern, large bathroom with a great shower (hot and pressure!), comfortable furniture, great linens, and a decent view. The Wienglakor Hotel is a gem! We will be back!

Unbelievable that this hotel is graded with four stars. This does not reflect the current state. Everything is in decline. The snooker club is closed for a long time already. Breakfast is poor (baked eggs, rice, stir fried dishes and soup are cold. Only the salad is warm). The continental part of the breakfast is limited to fluffy cold toast right out the kitchen. We stayed on the fifth floor and inside the room the water dripped of the ceiling with the same paste as the rain outside.
