Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stunning views, architecture, and hosts. How can you describe a home away from home? The hosts started by giving us free cold water, warming conversation, and a tour down to the local town. Those two were by far the friendliest hosts I've encountered. Not to mention the neighbour's polite cat who came to visit us, of course. The accommodation felt right out of a Ghibli movie, with seated balconies and swinging seats, hand carved, regal chairs and a refreshing pool. Overall, I highly recommend this hostel!

I had a great experience here! The owners are incredibly friendly and will treat you like family. You can ask for anything here and you will be accommodated. They also set up for night events and get a campfire going every night. There's a pool table and games to play with friends and other travelers.

The bed have ANTS which bit me imediately I lay down. I packed my bags and askes to bring back money for 4 night or even 50% of amount, she said - NO (I even showed her video with ants in my bed). She offered to change room, but others travelers said - it won't be better, ants are in the whole hostel. Also the woman - Darling very weird, trying to be nice but it's sooo fake. Do not reccomend. In Pai are much more better places for the same price. Do not waste your money. Even without ants it's not plesant place.

I had an OK stay at Darling View Point. The room was big, but the mattresses aren't very comfortable and the blankets smelled bad. I had to hang one on the balcony. The view was cool. It can get cold in the morning because the windows have screens. Darling is a very sweet woman but if you're not looking, she will overcharge you and add an extra day to your bill. Maybe that sweetness is a facade. Make sure you are looking at how she calculates your bills. I did not realize this until it was too late. Seems like other people have experienced this too. I will not recommend.

It's situation a short walk or ride out of town further up the mountain which provides a stunning scene over the town and mountain range. There's a pool table, pool hammocks and outdoor beds to relax on. She enjoys music in the evenings and there's a fireplace. It was cheap but the beds were still comfy and it has potential to be a lovely social hangout if there's others staying there

Darling is a wonderful place to stay to meet people, chill by the fireplace at night, free BBQ from time to time, hammocks and beds outside all over the property, a great sound system for chilling at night! I've been here 5 nights and bring my own booze from 7-11 at night to meet people and chat! Breakfast is great & cheap, especially the coffee! For the budget conscious, this hostel is great! The beds aren't the best but I still have a private room. Showers work well but the best part is the community aspect and of course, Darling herself :-) *Note: the walls of the rooms are thin so you might have trouble if you're a light sleeper*

We loved this little place. Managed to come across it randomly while visiting a friend in Pai and decided to stay the night. We were given the luxury bungalow and the view was amazing. We had previously had a look at other hostels in the area-and promptly moved on each time. This suited our backpacking budget and was really comfortable. We loved the porch to chill out on in the evening. The service was so friendly and the owners were extremely helpful. We got two double beds and a neat little bathroom. Really chilled atmosphere.

Guys! I can’t stress it enough. Stay well away from this place. The owner himself is a lovely guy but by good does this place need a clean up. There is junk everywhere, I’m assuming he’s a mechanic due to him tinkering with a few cars he has on the property. He reminds me of my life really just Chaotic! The beds was too hard (I mean like rock solid) or it was to sinking. You little fell into the mattress. Dirty sheets outside on the viewing point, nails sticking up out of the floor. Honestly just stay away. We are traveling around Thailand and we have stayed in some bad places but this tops them all. We actually left on our first night, we originally booked 3 nights but couldn’t deal with the noise, smell and just the over junk everywhere. Not for us and not cheap either. Ps also had mould my fruit out on a table what looks like it had been there a good while!!

Black water and bugs in the bed. Light was not working in the shower. That says everything. No go. Have tried to talk to the owner but after i have said i will change the hostel she was really, really unfriendly. No refund.

Best host ever! Wonderful place to stay with a great view just a few minutes out of the main town. Nice small pool to cool down in and can buy cold drinks. Fire pit and lots of hammocks to socialise in, the hosts are absolutely amazing and we miss them already! She treated us like her four sons :)
