Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

This resort a kilometer outside Pai is located in a beautiful surrounding.
A unlimited bring and pick up service daytime and evening we have never experienced before.
Whole staff has a passionate desire to please you!
To bring you to your room visaversa pick you up.
To bring you towels when you want to swim in one of the best swimmingpools we have seen!
Spacious rooms and gardens full with flowers.
We called Montis resort our Paiadis ( Paradise in Pai).
Outstanding service you will not forget.... and just like us forfilled of desire to come back soon

Everything about our stay was fantastic. We're on a fairly tight budget but stayed here for 3 nights as an anniversary treat and the staff made it so special.

The rooms were beautiful and huge, in a gorgeous setting of the hotel premises. There was also an on site gym and a really pretty pool.

The hotel has a shuttle which essentially works as a private (and free) taxi, which takes you in and out of town - it's a 5 min drive - and also to the Chinese village and to an out of the way restaurant. They offered these services, we didn't request them.

The breakfast was yummy and they also have a resort bar, though this was very quiet when we visited.

For our anniversary they even put a bottle of sparkling wine in the room!

Genuinely fantastic and we couldn't have asked for more.

The hotel was lovely, not perfect, but represented value for money:

The plus points:
Outstanding staff! Especially 'Joy' on reception and the Golf Cart Drivers, very, very, very service oriented crew, all of the staff.

Very comfortable bed
Nice Sized Room
Good sized bathroom
Pleasant decor, very contemporary South African style although in Thailand
Balcony
Lots of light
Pleasant grounds
WiFi included in room price

Downsides:
Wifi signal not good enough for Skype calls, but good enough for all else.
Ac Unit was a little on the noisy side, but the comfort of the bed made up for it
Here and there a wee bit of maintenance needed (nothing horrendous)
Breakfast was not spectacular. I don't like it when they provide really, really cheap sugary jam to go with bread, yuk. Eggs good, other items ok.

To sum up, I would stay again.

We made the mistake of booking a suite here via Agoda. When we arrived, which was a busy Loy Kratong weekend holiday, the Montis was deserted! We were to be the only guests and the only staff we saw was a receptionist and the porter all through checkin and all the way to our room which was quite far into the grounds. The terrace of our suite was dark with no lights and next to a swamp like pond! The room itself did not appear fresh. We decided it was not okay and also not safe. We were able to arrange a cancellation through Agoda and book another hotel.

Do not stay here.

It is overpriced.
We stayed after it had recently opened.
The groups are ugly. Next door is a construction field. The photos on the site are incredibly beautiful, intriguing and ultimately misleading.
We could not get a bar of soap.
We could not get an outside line to call a friend from the room.
We could not get transportation to town.
The staff repeatedly wanted us to take a stupid golf cart to and from our room because there isn't good lighting on the path from the front desk to the huts (which are fantastic inside but poorly, poorly designed. The bathroom is bizarre -- the doors didn't shut completely and getting in and out of the bathtub is a death trap.)
It is not intended for non-Thai tourists, which would seem attractive to those of us on a road trip, but meant that they were particularly unwelcoming.
The restaurant is average at best.
The fitness center smelled like mold -- no ventilation.
I should have known better.

My partner and I stayed here for 1 night,
We read the reviews which is why we stayed.
The staff are very friendly and breakfast is good, other wise the resort itself is strange, it has a African theme with fake animals everywhere, the room smelt damp and not that clean, beds are very hard.
We stayed somewhere else the next night for only $35 AUD which was better, we think this resort is to expensive for what it is.
We are confused about the rating of this place being so highly recommended, the resort is to big and not maintained. We wish we could of loved this place, just wasn’t for us.

I loved this place. Strangely it's an African village themed place about 2k from the town centre. It has a central lobby area with the rooms dotted about the grounds, you can be taken to them in golf buggys if you wish. I stayed in the safari villa room. A nice self contained mini suite. The staff were very helpful, especially Ning. If you want something with quite a high standard at a price that won't break the bank, this is the one for you. I'd heartily recommend The Montis Resort.

if you are planning trip to a small town in Pai, if you are a nature lovers, you may drive to visit or spend some night at Montis resort, the resort is located not too far from Pai town and night market, the resort is provide FOC transfer btw hotel to night market or you can use FOC bicycle from hotel to visit nearby village or to the busy night market in Pai, i went to Pai many times and stayed in 2-3 different hotels , i can say that Montis resort is very nice hotel, all rooms decorated in modern style and friendly services, managed by Thai family, food is decicous and in resonable price, from the hotel, you can drive to visit Yunan village and Wat Nam Hoo or local village passing green rice field, you may spend a few nights before going ahead to Mae Hong son,

Great hotel space, calm and peaceful. Huge rooms and property with nice landscape. The staff is wonderful, very helpful and efficient at all times. The shuttle to the city center is great and very practical. You can take DVDs to whatch at the room which is very nice also. Amazing pool facilities, we love it, so peaceful. The only thing it’s a shame that the food quality is very very low and basic, with a hotel of this category I would expect a decent food and restaurant quality but the food is beneath that, below avarage.. disappointed with that part unfortunately.
