Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This guesthouse is decent and budget friendly. It has all the basic amenities and is close to many shops and restaurants.

There’s a cute restaurant on the ground floor which serves complimentary coffee each morning.

The biggest con is that the windows, there are metal bars on them which gives a prison like vibe to it.

The biggest pro is that the staff are welcoming and helpful.

We arrived in Phitsanulok before midnight with no arranged accomodation and a tuktuk driver offered us to take here. We tried. When we arrived, the man was waiting in front of the guesthouse. Didn't even say Hello and show us rooms with pictures in an album. The room we picked was okay, clean. Although we saw small ants on the floor and a cantipede. It was okay for one night, but I wouldn't stay there for a longer period of time. It lacked an atmosphere.

LiThai is a low-key guesthouse, small rooms that are clean and airconditioned. Bathrooms are in a good state and beds are comfortable. Whilst smoking is not permitted, someone was smoking in a room near me at night and my room reeked of smoke. Restaurant downstairs serves good food and there are lots of other restaurants in the ares. Good for a short, budget stay.

This is not a review of the hotel itself as I did not stay there. I was forced to leave as the two male members of staff on reception were so rude.

I booked the room prior to arriving by phoning up their call centre and they confirmed a room at 200 baht, fan, single person. I questioned the price at the time and was assured it was 200 baht.

When I got there, they confirmed the booking, pointed to a sheet of paper and told me that the price was 350. When I questioned this they told me to go.

I walked down the street opposite, turned left and stayed in the London Hotel for 100 baht per night which was clean and the people were polite.

The owners and managers at LiThai really need to have a long hard think if this is really the way to run their business.

This place is dead cheap.. less than 10 euro a night.

Decor is dated but the rooms are extremely clean. There is hot water, good location and a double bed.. There is also good quality wifi in the rooms at no extra cost. If people expect more than this then pay 1000 baht a night for one of the better equipped hotels.

As a budget traveller I can say this place is well maintained and for the price is surprisingly clean. There is plenty of CCTV so seems quite secure.

As for previous complaints about staff not speaking english: Phitsanulok is not a tourist town. You are in thailand learn enough of the language to get what you need from the staff. I had no problem finding out where the bus station was with some broken thai, broken english and a bit of pointing. Its disappointing to see people expecting so much from a place that costs so little.

At 250 baht per night all you should expect is a clean room with basic facilities. If this is what you want then this is a great place to stay.

If you are looking for a clean, comfortable place to lay your head in Phitsanulok, look no further. This three story guesthouse/hotel is located a short walk from the train station and down the street from the city’s famous night market. It is quiet and virtually every sight in Phitsanulok is within walking distance. Rooms are simple and clean. Only Thai is spoken here, but staff can communicate effectively. For 400bhat I had a room with a single bed, private bath/shower, hot water and air conditioning. Breakfast is included in the nightly rate and is served in their adjacent cafe. This is my third time staying here since 2012. Overall, a very good value.

This guesthouse is very conveniently located being just a few minutes’ walk from the river and within easy walking distance of the temples along the riverside.

The rooms are all identically decorated in a white and brown colour and have been recently refurbished. The main difference is in size and location: the single rooms costing 300 Baht are smaller in size and look out onto the patio which in turn overlooks the access drive into the guesthouse car park; while the double and twin rooms costing 580 Baht are larger in size and overlook the outside, often the road which can be busy and noisy. The first couple of twin rooms I was taken to see also had the additional problem that above the room outside seemed to be home to a family of pigeons. The quietest twin rooms are even numbered ones ending between 10 and 18 which overlook some trees and buildings.

The twin rooms are very big and sparse with little furniture: just 2 wooden tabletops. There is a TV mounted on one of them with a fridge underneath containing 2 bottles of water whereas the other tabletop has a mirror mounted above it and a chair to sit on. There was a wide window in our room plus some red curtains. The floor is tiled in white as is the bathroom. The bathroom is very spacious with a good water heater, a good washbasin above which there is a mirror and a good toilet. Liquid soap, towels and toilet paper are provided. The air conditioner worked very well and there is good wifi requiring proper log-in with both username and password which are valid for a period of 24 hours. You presumably have to ask for new log-in details every day.
At street level, there is a coffee shop where food is also available and this is where a free breakfast is served which consists of typical Thai breakfast offerings such as various rice dishes. You can also have tea or coffee in the price. There is no Western-style breakfast on offer. There is quite a sizable free car park behind the guesthouse where you can park your vehicle as the street where the guesthouse is located can get quite busy. Next door to the guesthouse, there is also a restaurant called Veggie which is presumably vegetarian making salads, sandwiches and burgers, but no real meals to the best of our knowledge.

The sleep quality was good at this guesthouse and I would highly recommend it to anyone requiring accommodation in Phitsanulok.

Just for 1 or 2 nights, this is a fine hotel to stay. Service wasn't particulary friendly, but the rooms were clean. Don't expect any atmosphere though; the rooms are really basic with blind walls and absolutely no decoration or whatsoever. Location is good, really close to the train station and walking-distance from the tempels and night markets. This hotel serves its purpose as a short-stay hotel.

We went to LiThai Guesthouse when we arrived in Phitsanulok. It is an ok guesthouse but it is too expensive. Come on, it is a GUESTHOUSE.
The next day we walked around and we found many hotels with much better deals than LiThai. We paid 580 tbh for a double room with AC, but we found nicer rooms for 300 tbh (still with AC) in other hotels. Guess somebody knows they are in the Lonely Planet guide...

The rooms were more expensive than expected (580 thb for a double with AC). But this place was pretty nice for pretty cheap. The spring mattress was old, as were the sheets that tore on us, but everything was in working condition. The AC didn't turn off upon our departure from the room which allowed us to return to a cold room, which is always nice. The restaurant across the street is very good.

The breakfast is very unimpressive. I'd skip any western options and think of it more like a free snack before you go out for real breakfast.
