Stayed here for a night, on my third visit to Phitsanulok, as an experiment on pushing the price point down. Did not book in advance (might have been a bit cheaper if booked in advance via Agoda or another), to maximize flexibility. Was quoted about 430 baht for a twin-bedded room without breakfast, or about 250 baht more for a queen bed with breakfast. Chose the cheaper option. Took meals outside the hotel (the night market is nearby and pleasant for dinner). As noted, features of the hotel are karaoke and massage, both apparently oriented toward businessmen - which I did not test out (even for the sake of research for this review)..

As noted, the hotel is not new. Hallways and rooms are a bit worn. But beds and linens were ok, especially in the context of the price. Plumbing, aircon, electricity, fridge worked OK. The room had a spacious closet, but no room safe (not surprising in this price range).

It must have been quite the place 35 years ago. It was adequate, for the price, for this stay.

I stayed at this hotel with my step daughter who was in the city for an interview and wanted an inexpensive hotel, at less than £12 per night each including breakfast, it is hard to grumble. This hotel is easy to get to, in a fairly central location and the rooms were reasonable for the price. Food and drink was taken in the restaurant, the food was quite good and inexpensive. Breakfast was included in the rate. This was one of the less good breakfasts I have had even for Thailand.
The hotel had a karaoke bar (for adults I suspect) and also a massage parlour that was definitely for the over 18'S.
Car parking is free.

When I am restricted to the hotel, I prefer there to be a bar not just a restaurant. The hotel may be classed as having a couple of bars (The hotel had a karaoke bar for adults I suspect and also a massage parlour that was definitely for the over 18'S.) and also had a bar/nightclub that was closed. Just a straight forward bar would have been good.
If the fact that certain of the facilities at this hotel are for adults only then maybe it isn't for you but if that doesn't worry you and you want a cheap clean room for the night it fits the bill.

We book this hotel to stay close to train station and visiting Sukhothai from there in a one day visit. Hotel is old and needs some refurbishments urgently. Bath tube was rusty in some many places, towels even clean had several stations, there was some rotten food in the mini bar fridge and it stinks the moment you open the door (it has not been checked in weeks, seems to be), mattress was hard as a stone, carpet was very used.
Staff was nice and situation was good, so at least we had that. I will not recommend this hotel, sorry to say so.

People working there were friendly and nice. For a 100 bath they drove you to Amarin Lagoon Hotel so that you can enjoy a swimming pool for free (that hotel sucks too, btw).
Poorly maintained and very outdated ... But ... at sundown you should go listen to the noise of the birds outside. Amazing!

Never stay at Amarin Nakorn Hotel in Phitsanulok. To give a rundown of the overpriced disaster:

* the lift broke down (we were on the 10th floor)
* the hot water tap broke while the water was gushing
* They had no more taps so we had to move rooms
* the hot water was luke warm
* the sink plug broke
* The sink plug leaked
* the carpet came loose
* the toilet leaked

the staff could not understand much English but seemed resigned to the fact that they worked in a lemon; an expensive lemon

To be totally honest: this hotel has some flaws because it is old and not very well maintained. The bathroom is not the cleanest either (although clean enough). I still love it though... the location is superb, just a 2 minute walk from the train station and 5 minutes to the night market at the riverside where you can have great meals. The beds are the best we've had in Thailand, what a great night sleep it was! Breakfast was also nice, I read people's complaints about it being just toast and marmelade, but there is also rice which you can spice up yourself to a tasty little dish and it's free so definitely nothing to complain about. The staff is also friendly.
