Blue House Sukhothai is a family owned and operated business. Our goal is to provide guests with top quality facilities and comfortable accommodation at an affordable price. Our family has a long history in the hospitality industry. We originally operated an apartment complex renting rooms to University and College students. However, due to increasing competition and a deteriorating building, the business was no longer feasible and regrettably we had to close down. We have now re-entered the hospitality industry, but this time our focus is on providing accommodation to tourists staying in Sukhothai. Blue House Sukhothai provides tourists with a convenient location and top of the range facilities at an unbeatable price. Blue House gives guests an extremely relaxing environment and is located within walking distance from many convenient facilities, including: - 2 minute walk to the local morning market - 3 minute walk to Sukhothai bus station, operating daily transport to and from Old Sukhothai Historical City - 5 minute walk to 7-11, local restaurants and bars At Blue House Sukhothai we will do whatever it takes to make you feel at home. We take pleasure in providing a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and hope by the end of your stay you will feel like part of the family. We hope that you will make Blue House Sukhothai your choice when visiting this historical part of Thailand.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We liked our stay a lot!
It is a very clean and quiet gouesthouse. The furniture and decoration was pretty, matress soft, free drinking water and coffee/tea, helpful service, ... All very nice!
Just be aware that there are many mosquitos and no mosquito net. So you need to use the AC or keep windows closed all the time.

I have equally positive comments as other reviewers. Hotel was in a great location, quiet, staff was friendly and helpful, room was large and clean. I stayed on the first floor and had no problems. Rather than booking via a travel website I called the hotel and paid upon arrival. 600B per night, cash only. phone number 080 506 8402. I would stay here again.

I like to add my travel arrangements to my reviews in case others want an option on how to get there and what it costs. I’m usually a budget traveler, but you can fly direct to Sukhothai on BKK Airways or NOK and AA will go to Phitsanulok.

Train from BKK to Phitsanulok. Sp Exp (DRC) train 9 (479B). air conditioned 2nd class seat. A light lunch was also provided as part of the ticket price. 0830-1319. The train broke down about 1 pm and we were 1 hour late.

Phitsanulok Train station to Bus station. You can take tuk tuks to the bus station and they were asking 60B/person. However if you walk straight out and turn left at the turning circle you can speak to the Songtoews (pickup trucks with bench seating in the back) and they cost 15B per person. I believe this is the public bus as I was given a ticket. Took about 15 minutes to the bus station.

Bus station to Sukhothai. From what I could see there were two different companies offering buses to Sukhothai. My air conditioned bus departed at 320pm and cost 42B. It took about 1 hour to get there. There are regular buses throughout the day.

Sukhothai bus station to hotel. You can take tuk tuks to the new city and also to the Old City (old city is where the park is). They asked 100B and the next one asked 80B. If you wait for the Songtoews they cost 30B per person. If staying in the new city the bus will stop at the 7-11 near the center of town. Many tourist hotels are in this area. If going to the Old City you can get off the truck as required, but the end of the line is at the ticket office.

New city to Old City. The same Songtoews will stop at the entrance to the Old City via the bus station. Cost is 30B per person.

I took a flight back to BKK from Phitsanulok. It was an evening flight so I took the bus back to Phitsanulok and got out at the Central Plaza shopping mall for the afternoon. The mall has a cinema if you are looking to pass the time. From there a 20 minute taxi ride took me to the airport for 150B.

We stayed one night on the way to Ayutthaya from Chiang Mai. What a lovely surprise! The room was nice and clean, the bed is queen size, the bathroom is modern and spacious. Aircon is quiet and the Wifi is a true champion! Watched hours of Netflix :)

Most of all, the staff were super helpful. They lent us a kettle with cups (bought coffee at the 711 next door), an extension cable, and gave us a ground floor room, all without quibbling.

Nice & clean room, A/C works fine, location is not bad too, you do need to rent a bicycle to explore the town. The major problem I had was the mosquitoes, YES YOU WILL FIND MOSQUITOES IN THE HOTEL ROOM. I woke up several times and killed 7 in my room during my first night, and about 2-3 at every night for the rest of my stay. The staff leaves the door opened while doing cleaning in the room, which is probably how the mosquitoes got in. I also see many ants in the bathroom too. This is a good hotel considering how much you pay for, however I believe the overall staying experience can be greatly improved if the hotel staffs do pay a little more attention on small details such as what mentioned above.

Blue House Sukothai was quick to communicate with me via Facebook messenger. They gave me tips on how to get from the bus station to the hotel, 30baht per person or ask the information desk about a walking shortcut.

One tuktuk offered me 20 per person, and said that town was 5 k away. We walked the 1.2k to the guesthouse no problem.

The room was nice, but the door was thin so you could hear noise from the hallway. We stayed on the second floor so this wasn't much of a problem. Comfortable bed, wooden bench and a mini fridge with 2 bottles of free water.

Staff was friendly and helpful! They have free baggage storage after you check out until 20:00.

The only reason I didn't give full stars was because it seemed a bit pricey, compared to even Chiang Mai. But it is a small town with limited options. And the dirt road leading to the hotel wasn't super pleasant.

... but probably overkill. I really enjoyed the room, but I laughed when I walked in, because the room had two towels folded into swans, arranged like a heart. Pretty romantic for a solo traveler. The room itself was great, central location, and nice to have the motorbikes and bicycles for rent. There was only one time when I didn't feel comfortable walking back to the hotel by myself, and that was on my last night. There are a lot of stray dogs in Sukhothai, and they sort of ganged up and circled around me as I tried to walk back from dinner. I tried both directions and finally got a couple of young German girls to walk with me. This is common for some parts of Thailand, and it is not the fault of the hotel.

This hotel is clean and very well located. It is not charming or characterful but efficiently does what it should. We weren't impressed with the breakfast, so you may prefer to go out for it. The bed is huge, and as soft as all Thai beds! The room spacious and very clean. The bus to the old city is just at the end of the road so that is very convenient.
