I stayed at Sunset Camp, Wadi Rum with 4 other family members of varying age. Our guide Ahmed could not have done more to help us. On arrival we went to his home where his mother cooked us lunch which included chicken, rice and salad. Whatever we requested he tried to accommodate and nothing appeared to be too much trouble.... The Wadi Rum desert is great to visit. But... Sunset Camp added no value! Our driver and guide spoke so little english that we just found out what we where looking at each time by chatting with other tourists who had better guides. Food was very poor. After dinner we sat down with the other guests in camp by a... More

If you want to see a sky full of stars you should let Sunset camp guide you in the desert. camelride jeepride or treeking, or all together. Do not forget the delescious lunch called zarb. There is oppurtionities to see the moon and the stars by telescop.

Great place! The setting is beautiful at both sunrise and sunset! Also, the stars filled up the night sky! The hosts of the camp were nice and the food provided was very tasty! Getting there was via four wheel drive with Ahmed, the driver, who stopped at many places of interest along the way.

I had an amazing experience in the Sunset camp last week. The tour was fabulous and they guys in the camp are lovely. They are very hospitable and helpful but they leave you alone.. I read some reviews about the toilets but I was surprised to see how good it is. They have toilet paper and hand wash. Some tourists... More

In the winter of 2014, I myself and my suitcase travelled from Wadi Musa to wadi rum. It was the off peak season and i didn’t have any reservation. Upon arriving at the village, somebody hanging around helped and called and hooked up with sunset camp. I waited and waited for two other girls but they never showed up. i... More

I have worked in Jordan every one-two years for the last 10 years and every time I come back to Wadi Rum I fall in love. It is so out of character with the rest of Jordan (the chaos and monetizing of Petra, the dirty streets of Amman, etc.). The bedouin here have cooperat-ized Wadi Rum and if you can... More

My two children, mother and I spent a wonderful two days riding camels to and from the very enjoyable Sunset Camp in late April. The conditions were rustic, which is what we were after. The food was tasty, staff very friendly, and the camels were delightful. We opted out of the pick-up safari options and insisted on just exploring the... More

If you want to escape civilization and experience a close enough bedouin experience, you have got to try sunset camp. And the owners are so nice and friendly. Food was good too. Make sure to spend a day there and go on a safari with them. It's a true different adventure :)

We spent two nights and three days in the camp. The accommodation is typical bedouin: simple tents, mattress on the sand, no sheets or towels, very basic common toilets and sort of a shower. The common area where clients get together is simple. The food is very good and traditional. The advantages of this camp are: it is in the... More
