We had an amazing time in this beautiful place! We had the possibility to spend two wonderful days in the very heart of the desert, maybe in the best part of Wadi Rum. Our host Obeid offered us a magnificent Jeep tour in the desert and a camel ride ín the sunset. The airconditioned rooms with privat bathroom offered us brillinant comfort, the traditional Jordanien breakfast and dinner introduced us to the local cuisine. The starry sky remains an eternal memory. We will return here for sure, but next time for a longer period.

If I could give our experience 10 stars, I would. Obeid and his sons, particularly Salem, made our trip to Jordan amazing and easy. We were a family of 7 (2 grandparents; 2 parents; 3 kids aged 9-12) and we stayed in 3 rooms (cave room; double; triple). Obeid and his 3 sons were wonderful hosts. They were attentive and thoughtful and very, very nice. We felt well taken care of the entire trip and having Obeid plan it was much more tailored, cost effective, and authentic than the tour companies. We can't say enough about our experience and would recommend Obeid, his family, and his camp to anyone!
We emailed Obeid, and he arranged our entry into Jordan (at the border crossing in Eilat) which was a huge help, a van to drive us to/from the border to Wadi Rum and Petra, a desert "jeep" safari and a camel ride. Wadi Rum is about 1 hr from the border, and our van was met in the parking lot by Salem. He then drove us 15 min in truck to the camp. After a light lunch (pita and a few salads), we took a 3 hr desert safari. For this and the drive to/from camp, we were sitting on benches in the back of a truck. It was very fun and never felt dangerous. The landscape is amazing, and our time on the safari flew by. We made several stops to popular photo ops and rock formations. After the jeep safari, we had a 1 hr camel ride from the camp. This was difficult for the grandparents, so we probably would not recommend it for older people. But we all had great time. Dinner at the camp was an amazing Zarb cooked underground and was one of the best meals of our 2 week trip. It far exceeded expectations and really made for a great end to an amazing day. The tents were comfortable with lights and bathrooms. There was hot water. The cave room was super cool and also had an outlet to charge our devices (otherwise charging was in the main/dining tent). They gave us lots of blankets as the temperature was in the upper 30s. The next day we had a light breakfast (pita, eggs, salads and traditional cheeses) before riding out to our van that took us to Petra for the day and then back to the border. Everything was smooth and easy! It really lived up to everything we hoped our trip would be. Thank you Obeid for a great time and wonderful family memories!

We spent 2 nights there last week. The accommodation is in a very good location, it is beautiful, clean, comfortable and the view of the desert from the cave room is breathtaking. Obeid and his sons are great hosts, they take care of everything and prepare delicious local food. It is possible to do several programs in the desert, we were on a 4-hour jeep tour, we saw a lot of beauty and interesting things, and at the end we also watched the sunset from a wonderful place. I recommend it to everyone who wants an unforgettable program or just to get away from the noise of the world.
We were able to reach Obeid at any time during our 1-week trip in Jordan, he was always happy to help us, whether we asked him about routes, attractions, food or accommodation. If you want to go to Jordan, do not hesitate to contact him before.

As a single traveller, this camp was the best thing that could happen to me in Jordan!

The pick-up from the airport and even transportation to Amman went smooth and I felt very safe when travelling with Nayel, the eldest of Obeid's sons. Thank you for driving me around!

The camp was amazingly authentic and cozy at the same time and the barbecue dinner was a nice surprise. Thanks to Mohamed, the Bedouin food was really tasty!

Obeid's camp offered all the services you could wish for in Wadi Rum, booking was quick and simple - for very reasonable prices! I loved the jeep tour and if it wasn't for the sunrise camel ride, I would have even stayed up late for star gazing.

I will definitely come back for a longer stay next time :)
Thank you so much for the great experience!

We had a great stay for 2 days and 1 night. Had the only room against the rock (see picture) which was very nice and clean. Added benefit it is warmer in the winter and cooler in the night. They are just in the process of creating a second cave room. Rest of the rooms are tent like. Common showers and toilets spacious and very clean and nicely light up once dark. Importantly the hosts are very friendly, tea is pretty much always available in the big common tent (where dinner and breakfast) will be served. Always a good opportunity to speak and get to know your fellow travellers. The stove serves also as heating in the winter. Communication was very well done by the hosts - pretty much all via whatsapp from beginning to end. They picked up us from the visitor center and we had our pre-planned activities and tours following that. Very reliable.

We were welcomed like at home. The owners took care of us, from the first moment, granting us a more beautiful and spacious room at the same price and organizing the camel excursion to admire the sunset and the one on the jeep the next day. We all dined together, eating an excellent lamb and sipping tea at will, feeling at home. It was a great experience. We hope to came back soon! Chiara and Manuel

Came on a climbers recommendation. Obeid and his family are super helpful and friendly. Obeid is very communicative and makes sure you have everything you need. The facilities are good. There are a number of rock climbing routes near by and they can point you in the right direction. It feels very family run with genuine care rather than a faceless tourist business. Fully recommend will use again when in the area.

Location of the camp is well situated with good view of the Wadi Rum desert including fantastic sunset and a camel ride away, the beautiful sun rise. Obeid, the owner of the camp is welcoming, he picked us up from Petra in Wadi Musa and also dropped us off at Aqaba. His son Mohamed who took us on the tours of the desert is a young and jovial character; we had many stops at various tented shops where lots of tea were on offer with kind hospitality (he calls it the bedouin whisky). The camp itself is basic; this is what we wanted. We had a room with a bathroom that was basic but comfortable. We wanted to experience the desert, we stayed for two nights and were happy with what we got. We can't recommend this camp enough.

It was an amazing, welcoming experience and just an overall amazing time. During our time spent at the camp the owners only cared about the guests, the whole camp is very clean, breakfast lunch and dinner were all delicious and filling. If you want a traditional Bedouin experience, then I could only recommend coming here.

We spent one night at Obeid's camp and it was simply lovely. He has built the facility over the last 20 years into an authentic haven for your trip to Wadi Rum. We traveled as a family and the quad room was perfect for the 4 of us. Obeid is a great communicator and sent photos of both his sons who'd meet us at the reception center. Mohammad immediately recognized our car upon entry and given we had a 4WD he led us to the camp in a pretty awesome drive. Obeid arranged for us a 2 hour jeep tour and then a great camel tour the next morning. The food was great. There is electric in every room and there are normal, simple bathrooms with flushing toilets. Note that Obeid is also a terrific tour or trekking guide and can arrange pretty much everything for you (though we didn't use him for these services). I highly recommend his camp for an authentic Bedouin experience.

My advice is to contact the campus-but directly. The camel price wasn't included in our package-but maybe for you it will be :). Obeid is an honest host-very trustworthy!

The desert is perfectly safe for a solo traveller, but of course a camp of good reputation is important for any trip. As you may see from the reviews, I often have solo women visitors, and they always feel safe and enjoy their stay. In addition, most likely there will be other guests in my camp, so there is always a good company around the fire.
