The Ark is unique in that the animals come to the visitor and you can watch as you relax in comfort either on the open balconies or from the closed lounges. The rooms are small but this is made clear from the start and should not be a surprise, but are clean and adequate . The food was good and varied. i...

This is probably the best place to visit and stay while in Nyeri, Central Kenya. I Did my Electrical Engineering Internship here. If you love to be in a calm environment then this offers you the chance. It is located inside the Aberdares Ranges and gives you a great view of Wildlife at night. You can see animals leaking salt...

Really glad that this was included in a trip to Kenya. We had one night in this fabulous location looking over the watering hole watching elephants, buffalo and hyenas as well as the birds at "feeding time". However, perhaps had too high expectations on the animal front but there was less to see than we might have expected. We were...

This has a unique ambience. You are shut in 'the ark' and the animals are around. No long game drives; whatever is there is there. It is peaceful and gentle. The staff are lovely and always happy to help, chat, explain. Make sure go for bird-feeding time as likely to pick up some mammals too. This is not for the...

The captain was on hand to receive us, the rooms are super fine even as you enjoy a view of the animals especially as they lick salt. The meals are super delicious with an experienced Chef at hand. The ambience and dining setup are amazing. finally, the fireplace makes the evening great as you unwind on the comfortable couches. oh...

We have just returned from a 1 night stay at the Ark. It was an incredible experience, and particularly awesome In that you could spend hours just observing the animals visiting the watering hole. We had previously spent 3 days on a safari in Ol Pajeta Conservancy, and there saw all the animals encounters you could dream of.... But instead...

Spent two days at the Ark. I must give a special shout out to the Captain/Manager Charles and his crew who went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable. The Head Chef George even ensured that he prepared a meal I'd requested. Service was excellent! The hotel is quiet, an ideal place to unwind and reconnect.

The Ark is the same old beautiful concept of a property. But it is now run on a skeleton staff. On the weekend that I stayed, only 3 rooms were occupied, 2 of which were reserved by us. There are practically ZERO animals to watch... it is a wasted stay and expense. All the big fellas have either been relocated...

Rooms are small with updates needed but rest of the hotel and /staff are wonderful. Viewing areas surround the lodge and nights are lit up to enjoy the animals at night as well. The main water hole viewing area was always busy with wildlife. Even the bird feeders are filled in the afternoons for the bridge viewing area. Birders will...

Balconies on all levels to go out and see the animals in the floodlit watering hole and salt lick. The blind on ground level, got us up close and personal. The food was truly so-so. They did ring alarms in the night incase of animals coming to the watering hole. I enjoyed the bird watching and everything. We managed to...
