I felt sad to say goodbye to everyone when I was leaving the rig when I felt I had known the crew for a long time even though I just spent only four days. I booked this trip back in Mar 2020, after waiting for 3 years, I had the chance to travel to Sabah. Sandy from the tour office was extremely helpful and provided detailed information about the trip. I booked the 4D3N package for my open water course. The rig is very close to Mabul Island. A lot of people dive at Sipadan which requires an advanced permit. It is a very special experience to stay at the rig. I have to take the lift to the platform. I was touched when everyone in the crew came out and greeted the arriving guests. The place has everything. It is like a small community. It has a nice dining area, gaming room, bar, etc. The previous helipad is now sundeck which is excellent for sunset. The rig provides boat transport to Mabul Island in the afternoon. Food changes every day and the communal dining area is good for meeting other travelers. All instructors there are friendly and fun. My instructor Nick showed us around the rig. It was a packed schedule to learn so many skills in a short time but he was patient and explained the details. I was able to dive and see the reefs and turtles around Mabul Island. I felt accomplished when I got the course passed and it was hard to say bye when I was leaving.

Certainly a unique place to be - smack right in the middle of an open sea. Situated not too far from Mabul Island, the riq offered some of the best dive experiences I've ever had. Unlimited house reef dive which was great - try going for night dives around it, you're in for some surprise. Do note the current can be a little strong at times, but a little bit of cardio wouldn't hurt. Rooms were good enough to have a good night sleep. Air-conditioned with attached bathroom that comes with warm and cold shower. Though slightly small, the beds were still good. However some upgrading work would helped a little bit. Daily buffet was great! They made sure you'll never go hungry at all times - 4 to 5 meals a day is a lot. BBQ night was the highlight. Coffee and tea plus biscuits are available all the time. Diving at Sipadan Island was an awesome experience - schools of jackfish, barracudas, whitetip sharks, turtles, bumpheads and etc. It's definitely a place for 'big creatures'. Usually you're only given a day trip to the island with 2 dives, but ask the crew if there's an extra slot for the other days - every dives offers something new at Sipadan. The key highlight of the rig apart from diving, it was definitely the crew. From the moment you're on the rig till the time you're leaving, they never fail to provide that sort of warmth and comfort. Fun bunch to be around with! Overall the rig is definitely a place to be at least once plus if you're looking to clock some dives or just improve your skills, its a place to visit. The only downside is not the rig but instead the condition of the water at the islands such as Mabul and Kapalai. It was rather saddening to see floating rubbish on the water surface and along the seabed at some dive spots. The state government should do something about it as you wouldn't want local wildlife to be severely affected by it. You could see tourist snorkeling next to a pile of floating plastic bottles, styrofoam containers, plastic wrappers and etc or divers having to pick up big bags, glass bottles, tin cans from the seabed.

Great diving, great dive masters who are knowledgeable, safe and informed. Accommodation is clean and very nice for such a remote location. Food is excellent, atmosphere is friendly, staff are good and pay attention to detail and personal needs. Thank you Seaventures.

The place is unique in that it is a repurposed rig built on top of the water. This made the distance between room to dive centre to dive boat very short & therefore convenient. Also the shade below the rig created a unique house reef below. Conveniently close to Sipadan Island & night time entertainment was a bonus.

Aside from living on a dive rig being a very unique experience, there are a lot of other reasons to go with this resort. Everyone is very polite and accomodating from the manager to the staff. The food is always good and has variety. There is plenty of recreational space like the billiards room and the awesome sun deck. The free unlimited dives under the rig is definitely a plus.

The Seaventures dive rig is certainly a unique experience and subsequently pushes the review into the 4 star range. The good: Sipidan diving is incredibly, the rig food is delicious, the employees are lovely. The bad: rig is fairly old and tired, nothing fancy in terms of rooms and bathroom facilities, diving the house reef is muck diving with poor visibility. There is a fee for the Sipidan national park and one is not guaranteed a daily dive there. My wife and I stayed 5 nights, with 3 Sipidan permits and 2 days of muck diving. Sipidan daily fee $30 US per person.

We loved and highly enjoyed our time at Seaventures. I had heard much about this place, but went in with no expectations. However, my mind was blown very quickly. We were welcomed at the top of the lift with all the crew and staff and a nice, refreshing drink, followed by our first dice just across the way in Mabul. The days that followed were nothing short of amazing! The crew is incredibly warm and nice. Our dive masters Kit and Wan were the BEST — friendly, professional, funny, knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. They made sure we were safe, comfortable and taken to the best dive sites according to weather and tides. They felt like family at the end and got a little sad saying goodbye to them. The GM, Ramesh, is so talkative and genuinely cares about his guests and the resort. The food was incredible! I kept going back for seconds…if not thirds every meal 🙊 and so many snacks for you to have throughout the day! The food was endless. *NOTE* — not the friendliest food for vegans or vegetarians. They did have veggies, tofu and tempeh on a regular basis, but the meals consist of chicken and lots of fish/seafood. They also have a community fridge if there is anything you need to store in there. I brought my own soy milk because I don’t drink regular milk and kept it there for a few days. The room my husband and I got was small and tight, so was the bathroom, but we were never really there other than to shower and eat. I will say the rooms & bathrooms need a little TLC, but as the manager told us, they are in the process of renovating many of the rooms. Also *bonus* the bathrooms have hot water 😅 I didn’t think the water heater would work properly but to my surprise it did! ***NOTE*** Bring your own toiletries like shampoo, conditioner and body wash (and maybe hand soap) as the rooms don’t come with these amenities, otherwise you can buy some at the gift shop in the main deck. Seaventures also has a game room and the sun deck is beautiful and such a relaxing place to hang out after a long day of diving. All in all this was a fabulous, positive experience and if I ever go back to dive Sipadan, I would absolutely stay here again.

This was a dreamy place to dive after a long hiatus of not-diving-due-to-travel-restrictions. We were there for 5 days, 4 nights and were able to do a total of 14 dives, inclusive of 3 dives in Sipadan. We paid extra for a guided night dive in the house reef and the difference in night and day was well worth. We rented our wetsuit and equipment and while there were some minor issues, the crew was quick to change and was flexible i.e. I changed to a long wetsuit after my first 2 dives. The stay was comfortable, with hot water and air conditioning. The food was delicious and warmed us, belly up. There was so much variety and not a single dish was repeated in our stay there. There was hot water, black coffee and orange juice 24/7. There were also snacks in case you get hungry and trust me, you'd be hungry after the dives. Best were the tea time snacks at about 4pm, the donuts - fresh, hot and fluffy. A DREAM. The dive masters were professional and warm, bringing us through the check dive and a house reef dive on Day 1. We were guaranteed a day in Sipadan and it was a glorious day. Shout out to Dive Master Tark for many amazing dives with creatures, big and small. The rig is compact and well thought-out. There's the sundeck, which was a lovely place to wind down. The main deck is where most hang out in between dives. There's the rig lift where it's always interesting to peep at what's coming or going. It's quite special to dive off the rig lift for the house reef dives. There's something else that everyone should try - the rig jump! Nothing like some adrenaline to end your stay at the rig. Thank you Ramesh and the crew (in front and behind the scenes) for making the rig what it is, a unique dive stay that everyone should experience for themselves!
