I went back to Les Dunes D'or last week, for the first time after eleven years. The place has been fully renovated and it's even nicer then it used to be! The rooms are large and nicely decorated, with the terraces leading straight in the dunes. Being January, it was too cold to enjoy the swimming pool, but I am...

The worst stay I've ever had in my life. The food Wasn't good. Being Moroccan I know how Moroccan food tastes like, and it was far from the standards and far from being tasty Breakfast ordinary with nothing really special.. Rooms are not cleaned systematically every day. You need to ask them to do it otherwise they won't. Was surprised...

We booked an overnight stay in the desert at Auberge Dunes D'or, so we didn't actually stay in the main building. The camel (dromedary) walk into the desert was nice, but beware that this activity isn't suitable for everyone (older people or those suffering from vertigo). We had one person in the group that was constantly having problems, which slowed...

It's always interesting to visit popular locations slightly off season. When it's less crowded you get to see real faces of personnel and quality of the facilities. Dunes D'or delivered in both aspects. At the time of our visit they probably had 3-4 rooms occupied only, so we were lucky to enjoy amazing service provided by only 2 or 3...

The Auberge is located at the Erg Chebbi at Merzouga. The sand dunes starts directly next to the terrace and you can sit and take your mint tea with your feet in the sand. It is possible that your experience really desert feeling...with only a cold shower...low electricity or sandstorm...but this is, why we leave our homes and travel. I...

The auberge felt like a refuge in the midst of the sandstorm in which we arrived. Guests were playing cards and drinking mint tea in the common areas, looking out onto the Sahara through windows that wrapped around the room. The common areas have all the colorful Berber rugs, textiles, woodwork and design features that are so appealing in Morocco....

Perfectly located hotel for visiting the dunes. The sand is at your patio ! Service was very good. Pool area offers a nice retreat ! Everything was clean. The restaurant was very good, with entertainment in the evening. We didn't actually see Merzouga, which guidebooks had said can be overrun with tourists. To the contrary, we felt very "out there"...
