I cannot begin to explain the magical and wonderful experience we had at the Tassili camp. Just arriving there everyone from the dromedary guides till the host to the waiters were just the kindest and most professional people there are. The sunset in the dunes was so relaxing and unique. The style of the tents was so tasteful and clean and very spacious. ( king bed and soft sheets are definitely a plus). Everything was manicured and detailed to make you feel you are in a 5 star glamping . The food was one of the best I had during my trip. Mustafá and Ismail were also great musicians and they played traditional music after dinner. If you want to really unplugged this is the place without a doubt.

Amazing service by the staff, beautiful setting and great excursions. The staff were very responsive prior to the stay and coordinated our taxis to/from the airport; they even woke up at 3am to cook us breakfast before our departure. The food was delicious and we're so glad we stayed two nights! We arrived for lunch on day 1, rode camels for sunset and then had a delicious dinner. Day 2 we booked a buggy ride through the dunes and had a lunch in town along with some Berber music. It was planned quite well. We walked around the dunes near the camp for sunset, had a warm shower and a nice meal. After dinner we had a nice warm fire with music and dancing. There was no heat in the tent and although the temperatures were low at night, I slept like a baby! They have plenty of blankets. In the main tent there is a heater and you are also able to use the outlets for charging your gear. Highly recommend to everyone.

We spent a lot of time looking for a unique, small camp and Tassili Luxury Camp exceeded our expectations. We had 2 tents for our family of 6. One double tent, and the 4 kids were in the family tent which easily would sleep 5+ people as there was a King size bed and 3 twins. Dinner was served in the main dining tent and the food and service was delicious! I forgot to request Vegetarian (for me) prior to arrival, and they made us a fabulous vegetarian tajin dish which the whole family devoured. We also had a tasty Chicken dish and traditional Moroccan soup which as also delicious. The staff was very welcoming and performed for us around the fire after dinner. We had a fun night listening to them sing and play music on the drums and then we moved into telling jokes! The benefit of a small camp is that we only had 8 other guests for our stay! I wish we had another night, as we had to leave early and could not take advantage of the Sandboarding or camel rides through the Sahara! I would recommend arriving earlier in the day so you can take advantage of the offerings at the camp!

We did a family trip to Morocco and were in Sahara for two nights. Great location, beautiful camp, cozy and family oriented. Everyone was extremely warm and attentive, accommodated vegetarian dietary needs. Wished it was a bit warmer but there were enough blankets in the tents. We thoroughly enjoyed camel ride and nighttime music around the fire. They arranged for a private transfer from Marrakesh to camp and onto Fez afterwards, stopping along the way; Hassan was wonderful. Great experience and glad we chose Tassily with so many other options. Would highly recommend it.

This private family's luxury Sahara camp is like staying with friends who have a private chef & staff to look after you. The camels are the sweetest we met in all of Morocco. Don't miss your chance to bond with them over the sunset & sunrise. We slept like the dead under a giant marshmallow comforter with the cold desert air coming in through the window. The bed is firm but somehow incredibly comfortable. We didn't wake with any usual morning back pain. Don't sleep too much that you miss the incredible stars! We could have watched them all night. Tassili also arranged to have Omar, one of the family, drive us from Marrakech to the camp then on the Fes. He knows everything about Moroccan history, culture & general, interesting tidbits. We bombarded him with questions and he graciously answered them all. Omar made the drive seem short with all of his information & fun stories. We always prefer to purchase from small businesses, and this one did not disappoint.

We stayed 2 nights at Tassili Desert Camp and had a car. With this review, I hope to help other travelers with the context and details that you just don't know without being there. And some practical tips to make the most of your experience. Here goes! Finding the camp with the car worked well with GPS and the pink tire landmarks. It's out there, y'all! There's a sandy parking area but we weren't sure if we were in the right place at first. I messaged the camp on WhatsApp and someone was there to pick us and our bags up in a 4x4 in less than 10 minutes. Great! We arrived around 5pm planning to chill until our sunset camel ride. I thought I had reserved this through messaging with the camp but the camels were leaving without us :( This turned out to be a miscommunication and we had a wonderful (and private) sunset camel ride up the dunes just a few minutes later. Just be sure to confirm that you are reserved. The cost is 15euro/camel and there will be a guy with camels that comes directly to the camp. The dunes are so close that this is a wonderfully easy (and fabulous) experience. The tent is roomy with electricity and running water. Pretty amazing to have this at all out here! The tent has a good-sized window that opens wide but otherwise no air circulation. A fan would be great but they use solar panels so I understand why this isn't there. Consider bringing your own small battery fan for added comfort. In cooler months, this shouldn't be an issue. The shower was very nice. Rainfall head with good water pressure and temperature. Just be careful not to use a ton of water - remember where you are ;) Our tent had a huge king bed, a single bed, side tables, a clothing rack, and two chairs. Our "porch" had a table and two chairs to sit and chill. Bugs and heat were not an issue in the tent at night. I slept very well! Dinner is a set menu of salad, main dish, and dessert each night. The food was very good! I was curious to know how it was being prepared behind the scenes but this will remain a mystery ;) The dining tent is impressive! Tables, chairs, and all the dishware for a proper Moroccan feast. There's a small refrigerator with cold drinks for purchase. Getting all of that out here must have been quite an undertaking! They don't serve alcohol but will refrigerate and serve wine and beer if you bring it (within reason lol). We brought a 6-pack of beer and 2 bottles of wine to have with dinner each night (stocked up on our way out of Marrakech). They even brought out an ice bucket with a couple of beers at the end of a long day of activities. So nice :) The breakfast is excellent! It is served buffet style in the dining tent with eggs on request. The spiced egg tagine is delicious! They have a full buffet of coffee, juice, fruit, different breads, jams, yogurt, etc. but it's a bit difficult with flies buzzing around (welcome to nature). Everything is covered very well, though. I debated on whether to do 1 or 2 nights at the camp, but 2 nights means you can do a full day of exploring in the area. This turned out to be a great decision! The camp offers a day tour (6 hours) and this was perfect. As we were the only guests staying the 2nd night, it was a private tour! Hassan handles the tours and is an excellent local guide. He picked us up in a 4x4 at 10am for a tour of the surrounding area. We learned about Berber life in the desert, saw 100 million-year-old sea turtle fossils, listened to traditional music, enjoyed some Berber pizza (delicious), and more. The best part was just driving through the unique landscape and talking with Hassan to learn more about the camp and life in the desert. We had the best time! The tour cost 100 euro (+ grat). All activities are paid in cash directly to the camp. We wanted to do dune buggies after the tour so he took us to a local rental company and we were off buggying around the most incredible dunes within an hour. We were the only people out there!!!!! Simply amazing. Cost was 120euro for 1 premium buggy for 1 hour (2 people switching off worked great). After dinner, the guys start the fire and the drums come out. We loved listening to them. They wanted us to have a turn but we have zero musical talent. If you are musically inclined, take this opportunity to take center stage in this unique setting. :) It was quite the vibe. Loved it. The service level at the camp is wonderful. Whatever you need, they are at your service! They are very nice, genuine people and just want you to enjoy yourself. The camp is run by a cooperative of a few local families. Everyone has a role to play in the running of the camp and they do it well. My biggest advice would be to go when the weather is cooler. We stayed Sept 30-Oct 1 and it was still pretty warm. Too hot for us to roam around the camp during the day (the day tour was perfect for catching some breezes). The Sahara sun is no joke. Get a colorful traditional head wrap before you arrive - it will help shield the sun and sand and looks great in photos. ;) If you are at the camp during the day, you can totally chill. I saw a deck of cards and a few soccer balls available for guest use. Photography, reading, or lounging on pillows would also help pass the time. ;) The camp is a different world at night, simply magical. Take the opportunity to rest, recharge, and commune with the desert. I would absolutely stay here again. I feel like I have a home in the desert now. Thank you, Tassili Camp!

Been meaning to write this review for a while. We spent 10 days in Morocco last November and this was one of the highlights. Tassili was a wonderful place to stay. Fantastic tents with large comfortable beds, great staff and really delicious food which made a real effort to be different from what you get everywhere else. If you bring alcohol (bought from Carrefour in Quarzatate or Jordi & Naima in Merzouga) they will happily keep and serve with dinner. The location is away from other camps and the sunset camel ride and desert trip were really worth it. Bring small denomination money on the desert trip for various spending ‘opportunities’ and maybe some trinkets for the children in the nomad camp you visit. We stayed 2 nights and that was really special.
