Dar Raha was the most beautiful accommodation we stayed at during our travels through Morocco. Antoine, the owner, was beyond helpful, showed us around and made our stay very enjoyable. I liked the fact, that dinner was always a communal thing where all guests ate together at one big table in the beautiful little backyard. Food was delicious and the homemade orange and apple marmalade for breakfast was simply amazing. Would recommend this place to anyone traveling from/to the desert and if I should ever be back in this part of the world I would certainly stay at Dar Raha again.
If I lived in Zagora, this is just the type of house I would like to have. A traditional mud-built house, which meant that, even in December the rooms were just about warm enough not to need heating. The evening meal is communal, I arrived quite late the first evening, to find everyone was waiting for me, before starting dinner. Very civilised. Antoine is a very kind, considerate and gentlemanly host. The house is quite magical, the roof terrace is delightful. The staff were so friendly and helpful and really seemed to enjoy their work. If I go to Zagora again, I hope Antoine will have room for me. This is the best place I stayed in during three weeks in Morocco.
My friend and I had an amazing few days staying at Dar Zagora! Antoine was a lovely guide and we thoroughly enjoyed his company over many meals, and a tour through the palm grove and town. I would definitely recommend it! We took a night away from the hotel to stay in the desert after a short camel ride and that was a spectacular experience, cold weather and all. We really loved the whole stay. The food was nice, our room was warm and cozy, the roof was relaxing and sunny, and the house kitty was a super lap cat! What a wonderful spot, thanks Antoine!
The house has a tasteful interior and a peaceful, tranquil atmosphere that makes me want to come back. Owner Antoine is very kind. In this hotel, all the guests eat together with him at one big table, that was a nice way to meet other travellers.
We stayed here for just one night, and are sad we didn't have longer! the hotel is beautiful, and very traditional. It has mud walls and large open air living spaces outside each room, equipped with comfy sofas, blankets and lanterns. The evening meal was delicious, and so was breakfast. They had heating, which was very welcome on a january evening! I was nervous about the shared bathroom facilities, but we didn't have to queue for shower or toilet as there are facilities in a number of places. we had such a good night sleep we overslept our alarm! Perfect place to stay in Zagora.
