We reviewed many hotels in Aguas Calientes before deciding on Tierra Viva since we were only staying one night we wanted the best hotel possible without breaking the bank. The rooms were spacious, relatively new with large bathrooms and large showers. The beds were quite comfy, one of our rooms was overlooking the river, which is just across the street and had amazing views. We had read positive comments about the breakfast and we were all very impressed, the crème de leche crepes were excellent! My wife thought it was the hotel breakfast we have ever had. They stored our bags for the day while we hiked Wanyan Picchu and let us use their shower room, all free of charge, before we left for the train station.

Viajes Machi Picchu was outstanding. As a guide, Domingo was the very best. Emotion, enthusiasm and knowledge, made the sacred valley come alive and made every day together enjoyable and enriching. Domingo and the staff at Viajes Machu Picchu are top notch - look no further, this is the one you should use for private touring of these wonders of the world (and "yes" spend a little extra to structure the time at the sites by booking a private tour - you can wait for the fog to lift, if needed, you can linger at the best locations, and of course dodge the crowds).

Truly the most perfect location for those planning to stay the night in Aguas Calientes and taking the first 6am opening for Machu Picchu. I had a bus ticket snafu the morning of, and the box office was just around the corner. The bus stop pick up is also on the same street at the hotel! So it helped ease my anxiety so early in the morning, and with everything 1 min away to get it resolved. Very swanky entrance and dining area. A delicious welcome cookie is gifted upon arrival. Very kind and professional team working at the hotel. The free breakfast is a great buffet of fresh juices and your usual standard fare. There is also a free water fountain in the lobby. Great to fill up prior to Machu Picchu as they do not allow disposable plastic water bottles. The rooms itself were very standard, a bit worn, very high ceilings, no frills, and served my 1 night stay very well, no complaints! This is located slightly away from the more commercial area and slept peacefully.

The service at Tierra Viva was exceptional. Frank went above and beyond to make sure all of our needs were taken care of. Carmen was also amazing about changing our reservation from their Cusco Hotel to the Machu Picchu location during the disruptions with the train service. We would not stay anywhere else in Aguas Calientes.

We stayed with Tierra Viva for two nights when visiting Machu Picchu. The hotel location is convenient to the places, bus station, train station, ticket office, in walking distances. The river view room is clean and the bed is comfortable. All staffs at front desk and restaurant are friendly. The foods are delicious. Special thanks to Esther and Frank in Suno Restaurant for their hospitality.

Perfect for what we needed before a visit to Machu Picchu - comfortable bed, hot shower, and breakfast. The hotel staff met us at the train station to take our luggage to the hotel before checking in, freeing us up to literally sprint quickly through the market to get in line to get our number to buy Machu Picchu tickets. It quite a process and we didn't want to lose any time. Your position in line can make the difference in getting your preferred time and circuit. We checked in after we got our position numbers, as we had a few hours before having to go back to actually buy the tickets. Check in went smoothly. We were given yummy cookies and the order menu for breakfast the following morning. Staff also told us that we could use shower facilities after checking out of we needed to. Overall a good place.

We visited Machu Picchu Pueblo for 4 nights, and we stayed in Tierra Viva Hotel. On our arrival we met Analí and she was very welcoming, friendly and professional. She made us feel at home right away after a long journey. She was super friendly and helpful with us throughout our stay. All the staff that we encountered were very friendly and happy to help us. Virginia at the front desk, she was very helpful. Frank at Suno restaurant for breakfast, he was the best server. He is always happy, friendly and very helpful. Mr. Nicanor Baez the bartender for dinner is an excellent bartender and with great suggestions on what to do in town. Alen the server for dinner was very professional. They all were very kind and helpful and made us feel welcome.

Very clean, comfortable, modern hotel in a great location. Easy to walk to the shops and yet quiet enough to get a good night’s sleep. I watched the staff remain professional and courteous in the face of very rude behavior from other guests. Highly recommend this hotel!

A lovely large room with a very comfortable bed and loads of hot water. We had a Spa bath in our room and it was amazing to be able to relax in it after our walk to Machu Picchu. The staff were so helpful and such a big delicious choice for breakfast. I loved this hotel.
