There were 3 of us sharing the top floor room with a view of the river. The sound of the river put us all asleep. Good WI-FI reception too.
Staff were very helpful. They even provided a to-go lunch menu so we would have something to eat while we were visiting Machu Picchu.

Stayed four nights at this lovely inn on the river. Wonderful breakfasts and hospitality! Highly recommend. The girls who run this inn are so kind. It's steps away from anything you would like to do in Machu Picchu and has beautiful views.

This is what we know how to do, and we like to serve all our tourists who visit Machupicchu, with good energy and always ready to help in everything that is in our hands. The river and the mountain in front of us help to get a good sleep and be ready to visit Machupicchu the next day. It only remains to thank you for your visit, come back soon and recommend us to your friends and family. sincerely Carlos Mendoza (manager) Geraldine and Edelmira (collaborators)

Comfortable and nice clean room with hot water. Great view right on the river - with all the negatives and positives. Very testy breakfast with super helpful staff (if you speak spanish :) ). We were given a map with all the helpful tips. Got issues with wifi though, but we stayed just one night so it didn't bother us

Excellent value for money at this basic but very accomodating hotel. Very friendly staff and the location is right on the river so we enjoyed a great view from our room. Breakfast was very good. It’s an older building so don’t expect luxury but if you want comfort, location and price- this is a good option. Bathroom was not amazing but fine for us.

Our stay at Terrazas del Inca was perfect. Our hostess Maximilian went the extra mile for us. She made us feel safe, gave us all the right beta, and insured that we had a wonderful time. Even walked to the train with us to help retrieve a camera we had forgot on the train. We would recommend the Terrazas del Inca to anyone traveling to Machu Picchu.

This was the absolute worst B&B that we stayed at during our trip to trip to Peru. I DO NOT recommend that you stay here - or if you do, be well aware of the short cuts the staff will take. My friend and I departed a day early because of the horrendous experience we had at this hotel. 2 prime examples:

1) The front desk staff (Soledad) was unwilling to offer us soap. Basic services like soap should be a required amenity at any standard hotel or B&B. When my friend and I noticed there wasn't any soap, we spoke to Soledad and she asked us to use shampoo instead! Mind you, I speak Spanish (my family is Peruvian), so there is no way this was a misunderstanding. Soledad explained that they ran out of soap and would not be receiving any additional soap until Tuesday of the following week. I told her I would happily buy soap from a nearby store if she would reimburse me. Somehow, she managed to find a small soap to provide me (how convenient). This should have been enough of a warning, but we were exhausted from our trip so we stayed the evening.

2) They left the door of our room open with our valuables inside. The next day, we left during the day to run errands and when we returned to our room, we noticed that our room was completely left open, with all of our valuables inside for anyone to take. We were immediately concerned and went downstairs to speak to Soledad about our room. She explained that the staff were cleaning our room. When we told them that there were no staff members inside our room, she changed her explanation to say that they were airing out our room. We were both shocked at this and asked Soledad why they would leave a room open without our consent. She responded by saying this is standard procedure when cleaning a room.

Personally, I have never stayed at a hotel that leaves your room wide open with your valuables inside. To make matters even worse, their security box does not work so our valuables were available for anyone to take.

This second incident was the last straw so we immediately checked out and went to a nearby hotel.

Fair warning for all those researching a place to stay in Aguas Calientes.

I book this place base on TA members reviews , I made reservation at 3/23/2013 and exchange email with Manger Carlos Mendoza at 4/12/13 to confirmed my reservation for AUG 3 2013.
The day of my arrival and the front desk told me that the room all sold out and there is no room available for us, after 3 times request for speak to the manger who's in charge, and they just ignore our request and on the phone with a person told them to send us to their favor associated chain B&B or hostel which we check TA rating is at bottom of the list, and they ask us pay $100 US Dollar direct to them and sent us to a hostel base on TA members review for only cost 41 soles! We request to book equal level of B&B, they said nothing they can do, than they just totally ignore us, one person went to have her dinner, and the front desk lady just keeping doing her book keeping, the 3red worker who speak pretty good English try to help us and still didn't get us a better place to stay, during August hIgh season most of the room all sold out, there is no place we can find to stay with the same level of the TA rating and we ask them to pay the difference to secure a hotel we found by ourself and they refused! At this point we give up dealing with them and we go out to book the more expensive available hotel and came back to tell them we want our "check-in" signed paper back, which has our passport number, DOB, address all important info, well, there just disappeared no where to be found as they said. Now this is more disturbing than before, I will AVOID this place and find more decent place to stay.

We booked to stay at this hotel a month before we were due to arrive and received a confirmed reservation. With less than a week to go we received an e-mail telling us because they had overbooked by six rooms we could not stay there. They told us not to worry however because they had found us somewhere comparable to stay. We checked out the place (The Royal Inti) on TA and it was ranked18 out of 18 ! No hotel of their size overbooks by 6 rooms accidentally. They are obviously carrying on taking bookings even though they know they will not be able to honor them. Then at the last moment they transfer the booking to dumps which they either also own or from whom they collect a commission. BEWARE !

My friends and I were so disappointed with our hotel experience! I booked one single night in the hotel but needed to change it to 2 nights. I had spoken directly with the Owner, Carlos as well as emailed several times prior to us arriving. He confirmed that we would have 2 nights in Terrazas del Inca. I was worried that I did not have a confirmation code for the 2nd night and asked to please let me pay for the 2nd night so I could properly confirm that we had a room. He said it was no problem he was confirming it. He also said someone would meet us at the train station to lead us to the hotel. When my friends and I arrived, no one was there to greet us, someone from a different hotel had to show us the way. Once we arrived, there was no reservation for our 1st night, only the 2nd night. We were then put in their sister hotel, which was not nearly as nice, blood on my sheets, and the breakfast was almost nothing (although charged the same amount). Then we were asked to leave the next day, pack up and come back to the hotel that I originally booked. This hotel was far nicer and the breakfast was great. The unprofessionalism of not booking our 1st night despite our several conversations about it, not picking us up at the hotel, not having a room for us, putting us in the grosser hotel, charging the same amount, was a huge hassle and inconvenience for us. Carlos also had the nerve to tell one of his employees that he and I had never spoke about the reservation so I was forced to pull up my emails to prove it. I would definitely never stay at this hotel!

We were a group of 7 people and we travelled to Aguas Calientes via Peru Rail. A hotel person was waiting in the train station when we arrived and guided us to the hotel. It was around a 10-15 minute walk (sort-of uphill) to the hotel. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Since we arrived early for check-in, we waited awhile in the lobby but as soon as the room was ready, they checked us in already.

Room was pretty decent and the beds were pretty big. We had a triple sharing room in the ground floor with a view of the street. They don't have elevators so be mindful of that if your room is on the 2nd floor. Hot shower was great and there was an available hair dryer if needed.

They served a pretty huge breakfast with bread, juice, eggs, coffee and more. It was available as early as 4:30 AM which was good because we had a train to catch. The bed & breakfast was also walking distance to some decent restaurants around the area.

All in all, it was a comfortable place to stay in. Affordable place, great location and super friendly staff. For the price you pay, it was more than decent.
