I booked a triple room for my wife and I plus our 12 year old son. Few weeks before our arrival I received an email from Alcides De La Cruz, the manager of the hotel to enquire if we had made proper arrangements for travel, and if we needed any help in that regard. Since direct trains from Cusco to...

The hotel is centrally located in the town of Agua Calientes. We were suppose to have a triple room for three adults but the were not any rooms available so we ended up in tow rooms. The next day we were moved into the suite which was next to the elevator and vibrated each time the train went by outside...

Casa del Sol surprised us with a personal, heartfelt experience where everyone genuinely cared about us and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The rooms are literally overlooking the river (whose noise will accompany your dreams) while the train tracks lie two steps away from the hotel entrance. Excellent dining experience whereby staff created several new...

An excellent choice in a town built exclusively for layovers to Machu Picchu. Ideally positioned between the train station and the bus stop. Nice dining room, great, friendly staff. Small'ish but nicely appointed, comfortable rooms. Good WiFi

We loved Casa del Sol---it was the best stay during our trip to Peru! The hotel is great, a wonderful vibe and an amazing staff. When we checked in after our morning hike at Machu Picchu, we received a delicious drink. There was coca tea in the lobby as well to help with the altitude sickness. The room we received...

Very comfortable hotel. Had river view room which seemed very noisy, as there had been a lot of rain, but didn't affect sleeping. Some very nice wall hangings/weavings. Excellent location for all the shops, market, train etc.

We stayed here for three nights while visiting MP. The hotel met us at the train station and walked us to the door....which was literally right across the tracks. I suppose it might be loud listening to the trains if you are not on the river side...but really, the sounds of both the trains and the river are wonderful. We...

On first impressions, this is a lovely hotel. Our room, facing the river, and with a bath, was a very welcome sight after doing the Inca Trail. However, we felt the service was lacking and although the staff come across as being very courteous and helpful, there were too many faults for me to give our stay a better rating....

It was a really good service to have someone waiting from the hotel waiting outside of the Machu Picchu train station. He was kind enough to carry the bag for us. The check in was breeze.
