We stayed at the Sumaq hotel during our 2-day visit to Machu Pichu. This hotel is clearly superior in every respect. The room was immaculately clean, large enough to be comfortable, and all members of the staff that we encountered were warm, friendly and eager to be of service. The only detractors are that the building is nestled against a...

The concert venue at the Aguas Caliente casino is very nice. All seats have great viewing but I would recommend the lower Ring off the floor area. Restrooms were easily accessible and a bar was located on every floor and at each end. Acoustics were great and the seats were comfortable.

Excellent hotel, large suite overlooking the river, and a little out of town, so quiet and very comfortable. Able to walk into town easily. Restaurant at the hotel (included) was fine, good food and well priced

Dear Stephen, Thank you so much for kindly comment and your high appreciation! As you say, the location of Sumaq is privileged because it is at the foot of the Machu Picchu Mountain and rooms have a beautiful view of Vilcanota River. In fact, located in the heart of the Inca Culture, at Sumaq we gives all our guests a...

our tour operator booked us into the Sumaq as a convenient overnighter for the inevitable Machu Picchu trip. It served us perfectly well though the room and facilities were unremarkable. I suspect there aren't a lot of superior options if you want to be nearby for an early morning visit to the extraordinary site.

We stayed at Sumaq for one night after hiking the Inca Trail. My priorities for that one night stay were: shower, get on wifi to check-in with my family and my company, and get a good night's sleep. Given that the hotel was charging NYC rates in an otherwise inexpensive town and since wifi is the first line item in...

Man, this hotel could easily be 5 stars with an update of a few things. The hotel was very nice, from the entrance to the bedrooms. The service is very good, outside of the bartender not knowing how to make a long island iced tea, we were taken care of pretty well. The room was good, modern and all the...

AN EXTRAORDINARILY ELEGANT AND ecologically minded hotel near the Machu Picchu bus stop. Rooms are beautifully appointed and extremely comfortable with all sorts of thoughtful details, Restaurant was undistinguished by comparison. Breakfast was the usual spectacular feast, but dinner was boring. Service okay.

I almost never write reviews, but the experience at the Sumaq inspired me to do so. I hiked the Inca Trail and knew I would want a little luxury at the end of the four day, ~50 Kilometer hike!
