Stayed here as part of the Inca Trail trek. Our room was right above the trains that made a really loud noise all day until late at night. The fumes of the train were coming into our room. It was like the train was IN the room. We asked for a different room but they could only offer us a room in the basement with no windows that smelled like mold.

We went out to buy some earplugs but couldn't find them. After reaching out to our trekking guide that we couldn't sleep this way, they could offer us a better room all of sudden: higher up and with double glazed windows: so a lot quieter. Until the next morning. They started inhouse construction at 7.30 am. Drilling, hammering...

So no, I would not recommend this place of you're looking for a good night of rest after your trek.

(The trains are closer to the hotel now because of a mudslide that happened two months ago. They had to reroute the train station.)

We stayed in a room facing the river, which was breathtaking. The train tracks are right outside the hotel and there are a bunch of restaurants, bars, and shops within walking distance. The water was warm and the bed was comfortable. They held our bags all day for our Machu Picchu trip until we took the train home.

Liked · This place was amazing! The staff from top to bottom was extremely friendly, polite and very accommodating. Our river view room was very clean and extremely comfortable. We got engaged during our trip and came back to a beautiful set up on our bed. The bathroom was great, very clean, with good control of the water temperature and great water pressure. Breakfast was delicious! Our favorite were the natural fruit juices- papaya in particular. We wish we knew this was a chain hotel so that we could have also stayed at their other locations while in Peru. We will definitely recommend this property to others and will look into the Hotel Ferre chain when we return.

We stayed here for one night. The hotel was fine overall. We had a nice room with a river view. The staff was friendly and nice. We thought the breakfast was fine as well and they start serving it at 4:30 am for those planning to get a real early start at Machu Picchu. They held our bags for us no problem. The Wi-Fi was real good as well.

Nice breakfast buffet. Helpful staff. Clean rooms. Great location. Only suggestion would be to add screens to the windows due to mosquitos. Our room was quite warm and stuffy because we could not open the windows at night and there is no air conditioning.

I’ve written hundreds of reviews and take writing them seriously; I hope my feedback is helpful.
I would never have chosen this hotel but it was chosen for us as part of a 2-day tour from Cusco to Machu Picchu. Our tour operator was Machu Pichu Latin America.
This hotel is at the far end of the village but the village is small so not a problem just not centrally located.
The room was very small and nothing like the pics online. The cleanliness of the room was not to standard. The bathroom had mold in the shower and did not smell fresh.
There was plumbing obstructing our view.
At breakfast, there was no water and no to-go cups for coffee. No in-room coffee maker either. The breakfast selection was very limited but okay. Just crazy to think you can’t get a glass of water at breakfast.
The floors in the breakfast area were dirty and slippery.
Again, we would never choose this location on our own.

The rooms were decent. We had 3 rooms for our family of 6, and the 2 rooms on upper floors were quite good. The room on the first floor was not as good. The room was damp and the windows did not shut correctly. The breakfast that was included was pretty good. The staff was EXCELLENT and so very helpful. And we were able to store our luggage there while we went to Machu Picchu until the afternoon when our train left.

We checked into this hotel after a long trek, extremely tired, and the only thing we wished for was a hot shower. The shower had no hot water. Front desk and maintenance guy turned the shower on for ten minutes and still no hot shower. They would not change our rooms, or offer any alternative solution. They told us that “at this hour everyone in the hotel is taking a shower, so maybe the hot water ran out.” We waited and waited, so tired and from the trek, still no hot shower!!

The hotel looked nice on the exterior, and the rooms were well decorated. The River view is beautiful. But the lack of hot shower is a dealbreaker. I would not come back.

The hotel is right next to the tracks and has no insulation against noise or vibrations. As a consequence it if feels as if the trains pass straight through your room. It will wake you up like a nightmare.
There is also no proper ventilation in the bathroom - four hours after taking a bath the bathroom was still incredibly damp.
The safe is permanently locked and the TV doesn’t work.
Breakfast is mediocre.
All in all not nearly the three stars they claim to have.

The rooms were extremely clean and great for a short-term stay. Breakfast served on the 6th floor was really nice! And the staff/service was AMAZING. Especially Elba and Julio who were great in helping us navigate anything that we needed. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Answer from Morgan L

There is no airport anywhere near Aguas Caliente. Train is really the only way to get there. The hotel is only a couple of minutes walk from the train station.

There are no balconies, but many rooms have wide sliding windows with Spectacular views of the sheer mountain face just mere meters across from the Hotel and uninterrupted vies up and down the beautiful Urubamba River .

With a formal request made at the front desk, your bags will be kept on the ground floor for you without any fuss whatsoever. . . The convenience of having a shower etc on return from expedition becomes the tricky issue. . . but can possibly be addressed if you were to include as a nice conclusion to your Aguas Caliente/Machu Picchu experience, a visit to the Sulfur Springs where you will get the double advantage of a very relaxing and healthy hot spring bath Plus access to the regular shower facility etc. . .and all this at a very affordable entrance fee. . . you can rent towels and bath suits in one of the few stalls situated just before the entrance to the Hot Springs . . . afterwards, you head back to the hotel, (where a booking for a Massage could be made - highly recommended by the way!), then get your bags and head to the Train Station that's very close by. . .All of this takes proper Train departure Scheduling of course, as the Hot Springs is a place you would want to have at least a 90-minute experience in. . .

Yes, they did store my luggage for me. My train didn't come until the evening, so I checked out and roamed around until my train departed. The staff at the hotel is very accommodating.
