The Cuesta Serena is a beautiful, boutique lodge with phenomenal food and extraordinary vistas. Karol, the chef, makes some of the best dishes (and cocktails) we have had while living in Peru. The owner/manager Mariana, as well as her darling toddler son, and two adorable dogs see to every one of her guests to give staying there a very personal...

Cuesta Serena is a small hotel with a big heart. Surely the terrace can boast the best views of the enigmatic Huascaral in the area. Mariana is a charming hostess and her staff are all delightful. To top it all, the food is amazing and the service fantastic. If you want somewhere to stay near Huaraz but in its own...

As an American chef traveling throughout the incredibly hyped culinary destination of Peru I've only found a handful of places that warrant the praise. Cuesta Serena is one of them. Owned and operated by a stylish, hip and modern proprietor, Mariana spent most of her life in San Francisco and personally embodies the new style of international travel; from the...

Tucked away with incredible views...No worries about anything if you are staying at Heavenly Cuesta Serena...you almost don't want to leave to go out each day and the perfect return spot after a long trek, where you're greeted by two large and lovable dogs. Marianna is an incredible hostess who treats you as family the minute you arrive.

So I have been meaning to write about Cuesta Serena for quite some time. But my computer was stolen recently so I have a lot of Trip Advising to catch up on. I went to Huaraz with my husband and another couple for three nights. We drove from Lima (long but pretty great/albeit scary and completely lacking in traffic drive)....
