This is a great little find. You have to arrange your arrival with the owners as they are not there all the time. Once inside we were welcomed and given an introduction to the city. The room we had was large, with good A/C, and a very modern bathroom. The room had lots of period furniture which gave it a real atmosphere. The bed was comfy and we slept well. It was very quiet there. There was a lovely garden at the back that guests could use, as well as a communal kitchen which was clean and tidy and included free butter, eggs, coffee etc. Parking was easy - just outside on the pavement. It is also close to all the sights, and places to grab food and drinks, while being quiet at night. For the price we paid it was exceptional value! Reminder : cash only!

Cetinje is quite small, but if you’re passing through casa vecchia is a perfect place to stay. It’s a very old house with antique furnishings and charm. To check in you need to call or email the host, as they live nearby but not in the house. There are a couple of parking spots on the sidewalk outside the house, and it’s directly across from the city offices. The rooms are decorated with lovely antique furniture, and the bathrooms are modern and renovated. Perfect combination in my book. There is a communal kitchen and a beautiful garden with apple trees- best apples I’ve eaten! The rooms have their own water heater so quick showers are a must. The location is great for exploring Lovcen or Lake Skadar, and there are banks and a supermarket within walking distance.

La veccia casa is an old family house right next to the former Russion embassy. The rooms are simple and some furniture are remainigs from the people who used to live there. The very friendly and italian speaking lady runing the place is the daughter and grand daughter of the former inhabitants of the house where she was born. If temperature is still cold she will heat the oven in each room with firewood. The bathrooms are newly renovated. There is a simple shared kitchen and the major attraction: a beautiful garden where you can have breakfast or drink a glas of wine. A supermarket is nearby as well as restaurants. We would come again!

The house is initially rather surprising as the furniture is from another age. This said, the important things, e.g. mattresses and bathroom, are modern. The bedrooms were spotlessly clean and had sufficient hanging space in the wardrobes. There is an attractive little garden which is a little sunspot to relax in. The house location is excellent, just a short walk to the town centre. The best thing about the house are the owners though. They were so friendly and helpful and went over and above to make our stay pleasant. Thank you.

This is my second time at La Vecchia Casa. Fantastic in every way! First of all, this is a charming old home with a lovely design. There old radios and dressers and old style wood burning stoves. Very comfortable and pleasant. Radmila speaks Italian and Russian. Her son speaks English. They are both very friendly and helpful. There is a lovely garden to sit in. Although breakfast isn't served, they leave you eggs and coffee and some other things to prepare a nice breakfast for yourself. They have recently added nice new bathrooms to each of the rooms. Everything is spotlessly clean. La Vecchia Casa is really a destination in itself. I wanted to come back to Cetinje in part to enjoy staying in this charming little hotel. Finally, it is not expensive at all. Thank you, Radmila. La Vecchia Casa is lovely

The Italian-speaking lady and the English-speaking young man are both very personable and helpful. The lady does a good job of cleaning rooms. The young man is great at helping newcomers both in knowing the rules of the house and answering their questions. There is a sincere desire to be helpful and to make guests welcome. The facility is charming in appearance. Each room is unique, and the garden is a wonderful place for getting outdoors for using the Internet, eating breakfast, reading a novel, etc. I found my bed to be very comfortable. The Internet is limited. The best test results showed a download speed of 7.12 Mbps and an upload speed of 0.48 Mbps. But things really show down with more than one guest is online at the same time. Often, when others were online, the computer stalled for many seconds at a time. Breakfast is not served, but a kitchen is provided for preparing one's breakfast or other meals. There are two levels of the refrigerator for items that can be used by guests for breakfast--spreads (jam and meat/seafood spreads), juice, and butter, and eggs are provided for cooking. One has to provide his/her own bread. There is also coffee and tea available. It's rather crowded at times trying to prepare breakfast with everyone having to do their own. The kitchen reminded me of one in a hostel--a bit old, a bit junky, a bit crowded, and lots of dishes in the drain rack. The biggest disadvantage of La Vecchia Casa is that noises can be heard from other rooms and from the hallways--speech, movement, snoring, etc. It is not as private as an apartment or a hotel room might be. However, it was very quiet most of the night--after about 10:30 or 11:00 until about 6:30-7:00 in the morning (except when there was snoring next door). One place said the guest house was 0.7 miles (1 km) from the center of town. That's not true. It is just 2 1/2 blocks from the main square.

We happened upon La Vecchia Casa and Cetinje purely by chance after getting a bit lost in the mountains but we are so happy that we did. The owners, mother and son are so hospitable and made us feel very welcome, offering us drinks and telling us about the area, it's history and places to visit and eat. The house is a beautiful, late 19th century traditional building that has been sympathetically restored and is furnished in original 1930's style as it was when the owners grand parents lived there. The room we stayed in was very spacious and had a private bathroom just up the corridor and the bed was extremely comfortable. It was an unusually cold night (snowing in the mountains), and the owners lit a lovely old wood burner in our room for us which was wonderfully cosy. The bed was large and extremely comfortable. In the morning there were fresh eggs, preserves, milk, tea and coffee in the shared kitchen for us to make some breakfast. There is a beautiful large, garden at the back of the house with tables and chairs arranged randomly for guests to sit out and enjoy their breakfast (unfortunately the weather did not allow when we visited). Cetinje itself is a lovely town, steeped in history with lots of interesting places to visit, a great base for exploring the surrounding area and its national parks. I would highly recommend this place to stay and we will definitely be back.

Petar and his mother Radmila were lovely hosts. The rooms are stylishly furnished with old local pieces that capture the local culture but the bathrooms are modern and the showers great. The shared kitchen is quirky and unique but to be honest we hardly used it we were out during the day enjoying the local area and eat out every night. Cetinje has some nice restaurants and bars and it's pretty centre is nice to sit in on a sunny evening. La Vecchia is a super place and we would definitely stay here again

I really liked this place. It's a charming older house in the centre of Cetinje, just across from the Town Hall. All the museums, shops, restaurants and night life are within a few blocks and easily walkable. That being said, the house is pretty quiet. The rooms are spacious and air-conditioned, with an old-fashioned sort of feel. The little courtyard garden is a nice spot to have breakfast. The owners were very kind and hospitable. They offer coffee and some other basics, but you'll want to either eat out or prepare your own food (there's a nice big kitchen for the guests to use). Finally, the price is fantastic for what you get.
