Value
As stated in “Mahawamsa” the history of Sri Lanka; “Avasta” means a place to rest, relax or wine down. Staying true to the Sanskrit text we are proud to be known as one of the best accommodations in Anuradhapura. A place that is calm, tranquil but not so far away from the city, Avasta is within walking distance to all the historical monuments and within close proximity to the main town.

Friendly staff, clean and spacious room.Close to Anuradhapura historical city. Food is good served by a friendly steward called Mohamed. Thank you, we had a nice family time. It was under renovation, and hope the outcome would be greater. Definitely visit again next time. They helped us make offering to Jaya Sri maha Bodhiya ,Ruwan well seya. Really appreciate their kindness and hospitality.

As part of out trip around Sri Lanka, we thought it best to book into this establishment in advance via the internet.

On ariival, our first impression was quite nice - although the reception area is quite cramped, the staff are very courteous and friendly. We were shown to our room quite quickly. We stayed in one of the double rooms at the rear of the hotel, which is furnished quite nicely, but had the smell that every traveller hates - mold. This is most likely coming about because the room has no natural ventilation. The proximity to the building site next door was also evidenced by the loud music blaring away all afternoon.

The restaurant is very good value, and the wait staff show the same level as service as the reception staff. The food is of an excellent standard. However, the surroundings leading to the restaurant could do with some attention, with broken tiles and overgrown plants spoiling the experience.

Also, the tiles in the reception area have a curious yellow stain around the grout, which I want to believe is the result of using a grout sealant that wasn't quite up to scratch (I'd rather not let my imagination run wild as to whatever else it could be).

A refrigerator in the room would be nice, but not essential. I'd rather you removed the mold first.

I like what this establishment is trying to achieve, but more attention to basic detail is required.

Mark W.

The resort doesn't really seem to be much of a spa bur it is a fine place to go back to after a day exploring the ruins. Staff are a bit over attentive, like old mother hens and jump to attention whenwver appear.
Rooms were clean, with all the usual accoutrements of a nice hotel but it could really do with some maintenance.
Good AC in the room with a huge bath and shower.

Breakfast was 'English' but like most of Sri Lanka they don't seem to put coffee n the 'Coffee' so you get watery milk.

I paid 100 rupees to get there from the train station, it's a good old hike up a busy road otherwise. You ll probably want to ger transport to go to the ruins but its conveniently situated if you feel like taking a bike or walking. I got a tuk tuk for the day, 2000 rupees.

The rooms were very clean and the staff are extremely kind and helpful. The hotel is surrounded by a paddy field and the ayurvedic spa is very relaxing. The food was excellent and General manager Mr Eranda was very attentive to his guests and gave them a personalised service.

We had a dinner get togeather. Food is one of the WORST and most expensive.
Name in the menu and the food provided were not all related. Please avoid.

A kothu from a street small boutique is better quality than the food served at this hotel.

We book triple room ,but we got twin room with single beds. Also food were horrible. There were no buffet . But they said they have buffet on this long weekend. Also prices are different. Rooms were not clean . Shower cubicle is not functioning properly. We have only rice and curry for our meals. Rooms like Mudukku place . Dont waste your money and dont visit this hotel. Its better to stay in road instead of this hotel. We had worst experience .

First and last impression has very bad because of that man. His name is Daminda or Duminda.. exactly I don't know. He was tried to take some money from us firstly. Secondly he tried to change our vehicle to his own one. It's very bad experience ever I had. I never recommend.

Lovely rooms. We stayed in garden room. Unsuitable for anyone infirm due to stairs to bedroom.

Fabulous shower too.

Particularly, the waiter is very good indeed. High praise for him.

Only drawback was no bar. They are happy for clients to bring their own though.

Overall, a very good stay.

This not a 4 star hotel. I would like to ask from hotel who gave you the 4 stars. Do you know If it is a four star where should be?
Don't think that you can go for 4 star level only with comfortable rooms.
This hotel has I think only about 10 people to work. What is your service, No service at all.
This hotel is cheating travels.

The hotel name is Avasta Hotel & Spa. Where is the your Spa?
You are publishing that you have steam Room, Karaoke, Sauna etc But where are these thing?
Why misleading guests?

No bell boys to carry guests bags.
No welcoming & greeting at all.
No meals as per the hotel ala cart menu.

And I have a very bad experience with this hotel.
We stayed only one night at this hotel.
We checked in for lunch time & we had lunch then in the night we had dinner. We were booked for BB basis. Then in the night I called reception & I requested to prepare my bill hence we wanted to early departure in the morning. Then I paid full bill. And I requested early breakfast for 6.00 A.M. Then receptionist & the restaurant also agreed to provide us our breakfast by 6 am.
When we go to the restaurant in the the morning 6 o'clock no body is there in the restaurant & the kitchen too. Then We came to room & called room service number, kitchen & restaurant. But nobody answered the phone.
Very hardly I could walk up receptionist & I ask about our breakfast. He told kitchen & restaurant all people are still sleeping. I think they purposely did this hence I have paid full bill in the night. Cost wise two breakfast is not a big amount for me, but I am really disappointed about the service & they were cheating us. Then we came out & we had our breakfast from outside.
Is this a 4 star hotel ??? why are you publishing in agoda that you are in 4 star category????
Dear hotel staff please go to a real 4 star hotel & have a look how is they are giving service to guests.
