Diyabubula, the Barberyn Art & Jungle Hideaway, consists of five beautiful villas located near the town of Dambulla in central Sri Lanka. Renowned Sri Lankan artist Laki Senanayake designed the place as a hideaway and water garden. Laki shared this beautiful oasis with us, and he continued to live and work in his minimalist space until he passed away in June 2021. We are integrating Lakis' abode and studio with our Art and Jungle Lodge in keeping with Lakis' wish so that his legacy of art, sculpture, architecture and biodiversity can be kept alive. It is a precious responsibility, and we invite you to join us on this uncharted journey

We fell in love with the delicious and clean food, friendliest staff, ecofriendly architecture and surely the unmatched experience staying amidst greenery forest. The place is truly feels like in a forest and allow to feel the nature to the core. We were in Bamboo Groove and it’s designed in a modern architecture with open/transparent roof concept which we loved the most. Also, the attention to details of the staff is on point. They changed certain ingredients in the menu items observing what we prefer the most. The high class service in this unique masterpiece is definitely something anyone does not want to miss out. Highly recommend Diyabubula..!

Everything I wanted this place to be was met above and beyond! Surreal. A must have experience. Staff were great and welcoming. Food was delicious. The rooms were unreal. Diyabubula is THE place to unwind and reset.

it was such a delight to experience Diyabubula even after the dismiss of Laki. Grateful to barberyn resorts for keeping up Lakis legacy. The staff was super friendly and courteous. We relished all the delicacies they dished out. Laki's Diyabubula is still alive and the nature really takes over once you're there.

It’s not a huge land, but spread with Laki Senanayake’s creations in a small created forest.. in fact the guest rooms are all from his imaginations come to life.. you get to stay close to nature even though you are few minutes away from the main road.. Now maintained by Barberyn Ayurveda Resorts, we were greeted with a cheerful staff and some delicious Sri Lankan meals..

oh from where to start and where to finish, it was one magical stay here. i would totally run out of words if i'm to explain the wonderful experience we had in here. we arrived late to the hotel, the only difficulty we had was the google maps does not take to the location but stops half way to the location, thank God a shop owner helped us through to the hotel. we were extra warmly welcomed to the hotel by the very active and pleasant boys there. then they took us through to the water villa we had booked for 2 nights. the bed was nicely decorated with petals and balloons and it was such a peaceful setting! it was so relaxing and the rooms setup was gave us the warmth in everything we expected it to be. then we were taken for dinner to the restaurant where they have a set menu which has only vegetarian dishes, tasted very good. the staff are very low where they do the work them selves, its a very orderly maintained location. we were the only local couple at the venue. the environment is so magical , we didn't want to step out of the hotel we spent the whole day in the room where it had a swing and a separate pantry downstairs with all amenities. the best of the best was we had the privilege to meet the man behind this exceptional hotel Mr Laki Senanayaka, who is a very humble and down to earth gentleman. his residence is at the same location but a little separated where he has done a lot of creative sculptors of animals and different unique shaped objects. it was a wonderful experience to have spoken and share his experience with us. we even changed our room form the water villa to a bamboo grove which has a total different experience. but overall they're all very well maintained and serves in the best way possible. overall, we loved and enjoyed every minute of our stay, sure will do more visits when time permits. keep up the good work!! all the best for everything planned for the future :)…
