Detailed Reviews
Excellent hotel with an excellent relaxing location located in Rathgama, extremely clean & comfortable place to relax the mind and the body.
I visited Adithya back in August 2019 with my family. This was the first time I took my mom and sister who suffers from down syndrome on a family trip to a hotel and my mom was blown away with the environment and how friendly the hotel staff were. They were extremely friendly and helpful, and they did not show or treat differently because of my sisters’ condition. Also it was my mothers birthday and I just wanted to get a cake for her and when I inquired it from the front office (bit late in the night), unfortunately they didn’t have any cakes to buy but they quickly informed the restaurant and prepared a small cake with a short notice which was a pleasant surprise and gave her a birthday to remember. They certainly went above and beyond what you would expect.
The rooms were absolutely fantastic, very spacious and the open-air shower is a really cool concept. The personal plunge pool was the highlight of the trip for my daughter. She enjoyed it a lot and couldn’t take her out of it even when we were ready to leave.
Except for the breakfast we ordered the food to our rooms and the food was awesome. We tried different items in the menu and all of them were well prepared and the presentation was great. Food were really tasty, and we really enjoyed it.
I organized this trip to get away from the busy lifestyle and to give my family a relaxing experience and that is exactly what I got and I’m really glad that I chose Adithya. I’m not used to write reviews but the great hospitality by the staff and the overall experience forced me to write this review. However, I must apologize as I couldn’t write this before and once again my gratitude to all the staff at Adithya who made our stay an unforgettable experience.
My daughter still talks about how she enjoyed the two days stay and wants to visit again. I highly recommend Adithya for anyone who wants to enjoy a relaxing experience and I hope I can make it this year as well.

We have travelled worldwide and have been in a lot of hotels. This is the most romantic Boutique Resort I have visited. This is one of the best hotels we’ve stayed in and whole experience was quite wonderful. Lovely welcome from the reception, Isurika greeted with frangipani garlands and passion fruit drink and warm welcome by the hotel staff. It was a hidden gem from the busy main street and it was a beautiful experience.
We moved our dates so we could accommodate the Surya Suite which we wanted at this hotel for our 5 night stay and so glad we booked it. The Surya room was laid out in split levels opening out to a huge balcony and had a wonderful view overlooking the garden, beach and ocean, it’s incredible. Also with modern materials and sanitary-ware so it feels clean and luxurious.
The GM is pretty much around most days and will speak to all guests to make sure your stay is as perfect as could be. Whenever we go out and come back to our room, it was fully cleansed, everything was refilled and rearranged like going back to a new room. Breakfast was extraordinary and other meals of the highest standard. The food is superb and totally flexible. So you can eat what you want, when you want and where you want, unbelievable.
The lovely bar staff make a mean cocktail with which to watch the spectacular Sunsets. We had the SPA, which was wonderful and so relaxing I fell asleep. I felt it was good value for money for the quality and experience.
We have never found such quality relation which it is offered in Aditya Resort. This was indeed a surprise beyond expectation for us. The staff play as important a role as any in a hotel and here they were incredibly attentive and helpful. The service was exceptional very attentive and the staff all seem genuinely happy at working here, on asking many have been here over 11 years, it shows with the quality. Thank you to all the staff. An absolute perfect way to end our tour of Sri Lanka. I would definitely recommend this hotel and a peaceful romantic getaway. Would highly recommend and would definitely return

We visited the Aditya during the second week of March. This is a Balinese style boutique hotel with only 12 rooms. It is situated right on the beach which was always deserted and features a lovely very warm pool.
We were on half board and all meals are a la carte. The food is of the highest quality with multiple choices and the dinner is a 5 course delight. We have been to many hotels around the world but the chefs at the Aditya must rank amongst the best.
Personal attention was provided by the staff but I must single out Indika who looked after us at meal times and arranged for us to have a romantic dinner on the beach.
My wife had a couple of different massages by Kodi who she would thoroughly recommend.
If you(adults) are looking for complete relaxation and pampering in a quite location then this hotel is to be highly recommended.
It is only 20 minutes by Tuk Tuk to Galle Fort so easy access if you want to explore the area.
We will certainly return.
Dale.

The staff are the stars here. They made our stay even more amazing. They were the warmest and most friendly hotel staff we have had the pleasure of interacting with in comparison to other counties we have visited.
Our room was so spacious and airy, we loved it plus the bathroom and shower was outside which made it a fun unique experience. We also had a plunge pool. Breakfast was SUPERB! Set’s you up for the day ahead.
We spent New Year’s Eve here and wow what a night. A fabulous cocktail reception followed by a show of local traditional dances. It was a sight to behold from the traditional dances themselves, to the beautiful local costumes to the fire eater. It was spectacular.
This was followed by an outdoor 7 or 8 course meal which was divine.
Guests and staff then rang in the new year to a huge firework display on the beach which was followed by a disco. Everyone joined in.
Guests were on the night given a new year’s gift of local jams.
At the end of the night when we returned to our room, on our bed was a beautiful box of chocolates, a framed photo of us from the cocktail reception earlier in the night and a happy new year's card signed by hotel staff! It was the night that just kept on giving!
On check out all staff made a point of saying goodbye and wished us well on our onward travels. The hotel manager then presented us with a beautiful locally crafted piece of pottery (it was a small sundial to put on your front door or wall)
We were just normal regular guests and were treated so well.
Finally the beach is on the hotel doorstep, great for watching the sunset etc
We will definitely return here. Thank you for making our stay so memorable and wonderful .

Our four nights at Aditya proved a great way to end a two-week tour of Sri Lanka. It's a lovely hotel about 10 kms from Galle and 1.5 hours from Colombo airport. It has only a small number of very spacious comfortable and well furnished and equipped rooms: rooms; direct access to a large beach and thus lovely sea views; and an excellent restaurant. The staff could not have been more friendly, welcoming and helpful. We could not recommend Aditya more highly.

Beautiful, calm, spacious, luxurious - what's not to love? The rooms are all different so I can only speak for ours (which was called Rudra) although we did have a peek at some of the others which looked amazing too. Our bedroom and bathroom were both absolutely enormous and beautifully appointed, plus there was a terrace upstairs with our own jacuzzi. A lovely hospitality tray was provided: 3 ways to make coffee - cafetiere, pod machine or kettle, and a range of quality teas.
The pool is smallish but so relaxing (the sea is often too rough for swimming and anyway the sand on the beach is coarse and not pleasant underfoot.) Meals are to be had whenever you want - no set mealtimes. The staff were exceptional: we had our stay cut short by a day because the coronavirus situation suddenly got out of hand and we were informed that a guest had tested positive; there was obviously a lot going on behind the scenes because the hotel was about to be quarantined but we were sheltered from all of that. We were the last guests to leave, but the staff still calmly provided our special farewell dinner, which was absolutely superb, and a full breakfast when we had to leave very early next morning. This was exceptional service so thank you, Aditya, you did us proud, we love you and we hope all is well.

Been visiting this hotel as a family and even as a solo traveler for many years. The place has always been beautiful and the rooms continue to be maintained. That however, is the only positive thing about Aditya anymore.
The service is below par, with us having to make multiple requests to get anything as simple as towels brought to the room.
The highlight however, of the bad experience we had this weekend, was the food!! I don’t even know where to start... The set menu offered for dinner was limited to three selections. Chicken, fish or mixed seafood. The chicken was so inedible I had to spit it out and the seafood tasted mediocre. Quantity was inadequate and the only thing that tasted ok was the chocolate brownie.
Breakfast was equally bad with the kiribath looking like dry pittu and tasting worse.
No one from the restaurant bothered when it was brought to their attention that the food wasn’t good and over all the service was not what you would expect of a hotel that is supposed to be renowned for its service.
Disappointing is putting mildly and it’s sad that a hotel with so much potential isn’t living up to it. We checked out a day early because continuing to stay was not even considerable.

Ayubowan! (May you live long) Dear Ms. Nuwanthi, Greetings from Aditya Resort! Thank you for your comments. We, at Aditya have always welcomed constructive criticism and have taken careful note of your post. Firstly, we deeply regret the disappointment caused to you and your family by the non-fulfillment of your expectations and extend our sincere apologies in this regard. The late arrival of towels was due to the current Covid-19 health & safety guidelines set out by the Governmental Authorities. Towels have to be issued strictly according to the guidelines given to us and this accounts for the delay. Further, meals served on “Full Board Bookings” are based on a set Menu and not on the full A la carte selection. Looking into your complaint it was noted that both dinner and breakfast were consumed over 30 minutes from the time of serving, this would have accounted for the state of the food, especially Kiribath and Pittu which is made of Millet (Kurakkan). Once again please accept our apologies if we have not kept up to the high standard of service we have set ourselves. Best regards, Aditya Team

We spent 5 lovely days at Aditya. The beautiful boutique hotel is set between busy Galle and Hikkaduwa, so is an oasis of calm. The suites are very well appointed and the staff could not be more friendly and helpful. The food is very varied and well presented. I had a couple of yoga lessons with Saman, who was charming and very professional, just a shame that the hotel on cost made the lessons a bit expensive. I would have loved to have an Ayurveda massage but this was not on offer from the spa. However overall we had a great time and I can highly recommend Aditya

Dear Julia, Greetings from Aditya Resort! Our humble thanks for the high praise expressed in your review. We at Aditya aim to provide maximum satisfaction to our guests in all facets of a holiday experience – Accommodation, Food, Service, etc.. Yoga classes are organized upon request only and as a service to our visitors. Saman is a recognized freelance professional who conducts yoga classes at the hotel. Our charges are therefore based on the fee he charges for each lesson. Ayurvedic treatments are an entirely different aspect, which require licenses and approvals from Sri Lankan government authorities. Aditya spa conducts specialized treatments based on Aromatherapy and Balinese massage, for which we have a fully trained professional from Bali, Indonesia. Once again we wish to thank you for the kind comments and look forward to seeing you soon at Aditya. Best regards, Aditya Team

Fabulous stay at Aditya. Everything about it was lovely. Our suite was large and beautifully furnished with a modern feel but some traditional pieces, our bathroom was excellent.
The food was so good that we ate in the restaurant every night. Wonderful fresh fish and seafood, cooked how spicy you wanted it - loved the crab curry mornay. Chef cooked me tuna one night although it wasn't on the menu. There was a very acceptable Argentinian Malbec. Breakfast was lovely too and managed to suit us both, finishing with the best croissants outside France and very good coffee. My afternoon chocolate brownie was outstanding. All this with a beautiful sea view and the occasional peacock and mongoose .
The pool area was a suntrap, but we preferred to choose our spot on the beach under a tree with a breeze off the sea. Loungers and table were brought to order. The beach was very quiet, no hassle at all.
With only 16 suites the service was outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble. Everything felt personal. Hard to pick anyone out, but a special shout for Isurika on reception, who spent time one afternoon showing us other rooms and rescued us when the Foreign Office website refused to allow me access to complete our passenger locator forms.
We had been to Sri Lanka and travelled around a few years ago. this year we decided to spend our 2 weeks near Galle and only travel if we felt like it. It was a good decision. We will be back.
