I traveled with my family. And i wanted an getaway from the rush and we were in for a treat. The place is very spacious, well maintained and super comforting. I liked the huge family room we got, large living area and furniture and the garden that's well maintained. The food and service was quite a treat. I loved Iresha's home cooked meals; yummy pudding and soup. Mostly I loved the place as it is free from all types of pollution, no noises, no emissions. I can't wait to get back for another getaway.
I have just returned from another visit to this wonderful place. Pantiya is really quite fantastic, Nowhere before have I heard the sound of silence which is only broken by the sound of birds singing . Ireasha and Helmut are the most hospitable of who have become friends and they made our stay just perfect. The food is to die for and the beds comfortable the water is hot the pool is super . There are several dogs around who are really friendly. The views from the from of the house are spectacular.I will be returning again and again.
Beautiful place, located in the middle of hils close to Colombo. What a dissapointment when we found it closed, despite our earlier reservation (paid online) and nobody was around. Eventually local person who did not speak English informed my driver that the place was closed and the owner left in the morning. There are two contact numbers for the place but both were not operational. Huge disapointment as the place was realy charming...
Natasha and Helmut were wonderful hosts! It was our first time to Sri Lanka, and although only a very short stay (extended layover actually), we chose to escape the hustle and bustle of Colombo and venture to the mountains. The property itself is gorgeous - sweeping views of the valleys, lush rainforest, many fruit trees, and animals galore.. several adorable dogs (and their puppies!), bunnies, cats and wild monkeys. We enjoyed wandering the property and chatting with the friendly plantation workers, playing with the dogs and cooling down in the pool. Now comes the food... WOW. What an incredible spread the wonderful chefs served up for us each and every time. Typical Sri Lankan curries, fish dishes, vegetables and various starches. Natasha and Helmut were extremely considerate and catered to our hungry bellies and curious tastebuds. It's worth venturing into town to poke your way through the little food stands but make sure to leave enough room for dinner at the Bungalow. Thank you Helmut & Natasha for the many wonderful and insightful conversations around the table!…
We enjoyed this estate bungalow very much. The drive up to the bungalow needs a high vehicle ideally a 4-4 though we managed the drive in a saloon car. Natascha is a lovely host & went out of her way to make our stay comfortable & even perhaps overfed us during meal time & tea. The estate is in the hills of Matugama & is very serene with numerous birds & the occasional monkey & wild boar visitors. Thoroughly enjoyed the bird song at dusk & early morning & also the waterfall called Makeli Ella perhaps 15 miles away. We will certainly like to go back to Natacha's estate again on our next visit to beautiful Srilanka
