We had a comfortable stay at this hotel for two nights, finding it to be great for a short stay in Kandy. Although we were there during a busy period (Perahera festival) we were delighted to find there was a family room available, with separate beds for my two children. The bedroom and bathroom was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed...

We stayed here while on a 3 day trip and it was ideal for an overnight stay. Our room was comfortable and dinner and breakfast were both to a high standard.Kandy itself was an interesting city with the traditional dancers and the temple of the tooth being particular highlights.

We were on a 2 day tour and our guide amith took us to stay here for one night while we went to the temple of the tooth and watched the traditional Sri lankan dancing. The room was ok but didn't have mozzie plugs and I got eaten alive so wasn't very happy. The food here was excellent we had...

Basic hotel but clean and the staff were friendly. Great for a one night stay if you are doing a day trip to or through Kandy. Showers were great and the view was amazing. Kandy itself is suprisingly quiet and more relaxed than we thought - we really struggled to find a good local eatery however chilled out for most...

The worst of the many lovely hotels and rest houses we stayed in during our two weeks in Sri Lanka; the room for three was terribly cramped and it was almost impossible to open the wardrobe door. The bathroom was not clean and the bathroom mat was so dirty I had it changed. We were on floor one which, as...

We stayed here for two nights and used it as a base from which to see Dambulla and Sigiriya as well as Kandy. The location is on the hillside - there are a lot of hotels on the same road and the location gives views down to the town. Our room had a balcony with views down to Kandy which...

We came to this hotel at the last minute having decided to leave where we had originally booked nearby. Although it is simply decorated, this hotel is clean and tasteful with great service a lovely pool area and views from the dining room and some rooms. The bed was very comfortable, the airconditioning works well, the breakfast excellent, and we...

Nice, clean and friendly hotel (refreshing welcome drink) with amazing views over the lake to the Temple of the Tooth. We stayed for 3 nights, the bedroom and bathroom were reasonably sized and the balcony with chairs outside was great (the sticker on the door is there for a reason - the monkeying around on our balcony commenced about 5-5.30...

This hotel was booked by our tour guide as part of a 3 day trip around the island. We stayed for one night and were pleased with their choice. We checked in late afternoon and although lunch had finished we were still able to go into the dining room ( with fantastic views over the valley ) and have a...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Serene Garden Hotel is situated within walking distance of the city centre and overlooking the serene Kandy Lake. Above all these things, something unique about Serene Garden Hotel: its ambience is serene and the experience blends with the unique enchantment that Kandy serenely weaves in the mind of the foreign traveller, as it has done for centuries.
