Stayed two nights in Kandy and this place was perfect. 10min stroll around the lake to the main part of town which we did everyday instead of catching a tuk-tuk. The owners were fabulous. Gave us lot's of tips about getting around Kandy, what to see and how much to expect to pay for things. The grounds were lovely and...

Freedom Lodge is located towards the lower end of a steep hill just off Kandy lake which is the most picturesque and touristy part of the town where the Temple of the Tooth is located. Both the train and bus stations are about a 20-25 minute walk away or about 200 Rupees by tuktuk, although the drivers commonly ask for...

This is a clean, friendly guest house that is great for families, solo travelers and small groups. The family is wonderful and very helpful. Rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast is a full plate of fruit, eggs, toast and yogurt. Its a great place to stay and a short walk (15 min) from town.

I have seen this venue years ago, and the owners became real friends. I had stayed in one of the three simple but spotlessly clean rooms, I had cooked with them in their old authentic kitchen. But what a surprise, they have invested every rupee to make this a big, light, modern looking venue, with a verandah and rooftop terrace,...

Not far from Kandy's lake is Freedom lodge. A beautiful white house in a nice garden. Held by a realy welcoming family. One of our best place to stay in Sri Lanka. Breakfast is served on a large terrace. The guest house is only 5 mn away from railway station.

This is a great place to stay in Kandy, close enough to the centre but away from the loud traffic. We had a nice room (the bathroom was a bit rough round the edges but fine) comfy bed and nice balcony. The owner was very friendly. Would definitely recommend.

Really nice big house you feel really safe in. Also nice rooms but bit pricey compared to other places in Sri Lanka. We also took the possibility of eating curry there because we thought it would be something special. But it was pretty regular for a really high price. So I can recomend staying here but eating somewhere else.

The rooms are spacious and clean, breakfast is ok and the owners are really nice and helpful. It's a bit pricey, but that is the case everywhere in Sri Lanka where there are many tourists and few guesthouses. Still on of the best places we stayed at in SL.

Nice home stay with a very nice family. Breakfast ok and dinner good. The room was simple and very clean. A bit noisy as the upper part of window and door is just a grid. Important notice: do not book via the travel agency lakpura travel ltd! If you google freedom lodge you end up on a site of the...
