The hotel consists of 3 buildings. They originally booked us in Bai-Ru building. This building is completely run down. The carpet in the corridors is outworn, the woodwork is damaged, the room very small and badly needs renovation. We went back to the frontdesk and ask for a better room. They suggested the Han-Xi building. We took a more expensive... More

Rooms were basic and small . The balconies are its biggest asset as the wife works on and off at a very slow speed . You have good views of the lake but unfortunately the town or the market is about 5 to 10 mins walk up hill . Not much to do in the hotel so I would recommend... More

Basic hotel with fairly large rooms. Our room was tired and run down - hot water did not work, carpets were heavily soiled, and a number of the light switches did not work. There is limited WiFi available in the lobby only and the breakfast buffet is fairly modest and I generally did not enjoy it. Finally, be prepared to... More

The place was up on a hill so it took us a bit to walk up since we didn't drive. Had a room facing one side of the lake. The view was great as you can see the sun set. Rooms are ok but slightly rundown. Not much to do but sit and enjoy the view feom the rooms or... More

At Sun Moon Lake, hotels can be that expensive. This Hostel offers good value for money. Clean and tidy but seemingly needs some maintenance work to let it look more pleasant. Our room offers lakeview, very nice. The counter staff gave us the impression of being quite bureaucratic, nothing beyond the basics. Needs quite a bit of walk from the... More

Large rooms great views, have traditional tatami rooms witch fit our family of 5 plus grandpa and grandma. Great value, but if you want luxury go across the street. The breakfast buffet was OK, a little on the bland side, actually the food in the sun moon lake area is all bland, not for foodies.

The lobby of the hotel has a institutional feel like in a university hall of residence. The decoration if basic. This is until you walk into the hotel room, each a lake view. I would recommend a request for a HIGH-FLOOR room to get the best view of the lake. The room decor is modern and simple. The beds are... More
