My wife and I had an excellent 3 nights to finish of a couple weeks trip in Peru and Panama. Our bungalow was lovely; we were at the very end (#8 I think?) and we loved it. All the staff were warm and friendly. They gave good advice about where to go, were always happy to cal

We loved staying here. We arrived early and they checked us in so we could enjoy the bungalow on the water. There was a king bed and a sitting area, there was also a patio with two lounge chairs and a ladder leading down to the ocean. A highlight was the open floor portion where

This location is a nice gem. Out of all the locations I saw in on my boat ride to Eclypse they are a notch above everyplace in that area.

Comfort - 3
The bungalows are the way to go in this location. Skip the single room or the 3 room villa. The beds are just fair and the bathr

The staff and the owner was rude and made our experience hellish!
I don’t recommend is not worthy the money and the stress and be badly treated.
The owner even shouted at me! It was horrible and disappointing.

How good is the snorkeling from the bungalows? Can't seem to find any pixtures anybody has taken. Also, does the property have its own beach?
Snorkeling is amazing - tons of little fishes everywhere! (We fed them some fruit in the morning from inside the bungalow and they swarmed!)... I don't think there is a beach near by, but there are kayaks you can use and I am sure follow the shoreline to find one.

Do the bungalows have air conditioning?
Definitely not. This is an eco-resort. There is a ceiling fan above the bed but there is only power after 6pm and before 8 am, so that is the only time the fan operates. I'm usually a really hot sleeper so I was worried but was able to be cool enough to sleep without issue.

Can't believe that this week while we were there the staff actually suggested, upon asking "what are you going to do today?" that we take the hike over the hill to Wizard Beach and even mentioned we could go on from there to Red Frog Beach. We could not find the path to Red Frog and as Wizard Beach and trail were deserted there was nobody to ask. On the way back, still saw no other hikers, but we ran into two different pairs of patrolling police (which seemed odd.) Upon transferring over to Bocas Town for our last night we discovered that a young woman was tragically murdered on the exact same Bastimentos Island trail (Feb 2017) with the case still unsolved (May 2017.) My god. I can understand not wanting to scare off tourists by talking about the sad event but to suggest we take that same hiking trail, the site of a tourist randomly killed, is nothing short of reckless and irresponsible.
I don't follow your point. Staff suggested you walk a trail that is patrolled by police? How is that reckless?

Is it possible to walk to Wizard Beach from Eclypse de Mar? One map makes it appear possible. We like to explore as a family.
No, I don't think so. A boat is necessary. The taxi boats pass by very frequently and they cost between $3- $5 per person. We really enjoyed taking the boats and seeing the area. I hope this helps.

which of the over water bungalows are the deluxe?
I think there are 2 non-deluxe rooms and as the previous poster said, they are part of the main building. All of the other bungalows are deluxe. We had booked the small room immediately but were shown the deluxe when we checked in. Easiest decision ever to move rooms, they are incredible.
